Hey Everyone! Just found this message board and glad I did....going on the Spirit Dec. 17 with my 18 year old daughter, Sarah. We are coming from Toronto so add us to your list cruzmama!!! We have a cat 8I gtee. Got a great rate $730 pp all in. We booked on line thru a wholesaler and are not getting any real interaction with an agent. Have cruised on Carnival 10 times since 1980, Princess, Sitmar, NCL, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Emerald Seas, Dolphin, Costa and Windstar......more too but too old to remember everything.... LOVE TO CRUISE!!!!! I used to be able to get more info out of Carnival but can't get anything now. Marilyn you mentioned that carnival upgrades past pax first - I had a gtee once before but did not get an upgrade.....our category is the highest balcony so I am hoping for an upgrade to a suite. What do you think my chances are? Is there any way to find out before I get to the port what cabin I am in?

Don't know if you ccan get upgraded to a suite, but I do know that you can find out what cabin you will be in by calling Carnival a few days before your cruise. They usually have their list ready by then. When I went on one of my Carnival Cruises by myself I also had a guarantee cabin and was told to call a few days before and they will let me know which cabin I was in...and I did.

You might try calling Carnival to make sure that they know you are a past cruiser with Carnival. If you get the Current's Magazine you will find a "past cruiser number" in the address section. If not, they can look you up on their computers. With 10 cruises I'd certainly think you would qualify for a good upgrade. I've only been on 5 Carnival cruises & the past cruiser status has helped immensely. This cruise, I booked direct with Carnival & got an 8I for the price of an 8A. The last time I cruised on the Spirit I booked an 8A gtee & was assigned an 8H, but I had instructed my TA to be sure they knew I was a past cruiser. Sure hope you get that suite!!!

Tiadeerin: Thanks for the info...I didn't book with Carnival direct....everytime I try to call about something they tell me to call my TA and won't give me any info. I am trying all the old tricks but they must be outdated. I get the magazine but don't have a copy lying around. Let me know if someone has the past cruisers number and I'll try that!

Time is starting to more now.
Back in Aug. when I first started this post we had 129 days till sailing......Now we only have 49.......
Before we know it, it will be sailing time.....We all have to get plenty of sleep before we sail. Can't waste time sleeping on a cruise.LOL

Being a single lady I will be at the singles party the first night. If there are any other singles going I am sure we will bump into each other at this party.
It is hard to make up a place and time to meet everyone, because once you get on board there are so many things that you want to see before the the drill which usually takes place around 4PM......
Being that I am with my family and grandson (5 yr old) I will be easy to spot. I am only saying that from past experience.....
Is anyone else having early dinner seating? I usually like the late but being that I am with my family I had to switch to early.

Since I will be going with my two single cousins, where is the singles party? Also, average age would help knowing whether we would attend.. Not to sound snobbish, but we are all over 50 and might not fit in.

The singles party is usually the first night as is held around 10 or 11 pm.
On the Imagination I remember it being held in the Piano Bar lounge. It is held in one of the lounges and singles of all ages attend. I don't remember where they held the singles party last time I was on the Spirit. I did not go then because I was already with a singlesgroup on this cruise.
By the way, I too am in the over 50's group.(but feel like I am 30 LOL)
