In my opinion I enjoyed the Spirit much better in Dec. 2001...
This time around I found that the food was not their best. it was very salty, and had no taste, and I found the meats were very tough. When I mentioned this to the hostess Bianca ( the pretty and friendly blonde hostess in the early seating) she told me that when I was on the Spirit in 2001 we had a different chef and she heard he was great. The chef they have now has been with them since 2002 and is very young 28yrs old abd in time he too will become a great chef, but right now his food is just passable.
By the way Bianca was extremely helpfull and a great hostess. Our waiter was exceptonal he did the majority of the work himself (and without the help of his sidekick the busboy until the last day of the cruise) I never saw a waiter work that fast and hard to please his passengers...His name is Selkuk Serdar......
The entertainment was very good as usual. We saw the show where the singer did all the Sammy Davis & Frank Sinatra songs way back in 2001 on the Spirit and `2002 on the Legend and of course now......He was really great. The Xmas show was beautiful and of course my grandson was in that one too...He was among the youngest ones to get on the stage.. He was wearing a navy spiderman shirt, cap, & jeans.
Getting on the ship was easy for us, we were escorted to the elevator (I guess being that our paperwork was completed and we had the kid with us) and from thereon it was smooth sailing... Our luggage arrived quite early with no problems.
My room stewart was very nice his name was Wu.
Coming home we had no trouble getting off the ship. Everything went off smoothly/.\
All in all we had a very restful vacation.
And now I am getting ready for my next one in 3 months on the Imagination....again for the 6th time. LOL,
