Anyone sailed lately and have you noticed the list of amenities has been shortened??? I'm positive I was able to order Savignon Blanc as our gift but now they only offered us a Mondavi Chardonnay or a Mondavi Red. Anyone else experience this?

We don't drink, so I'm note sure about those offerings. I do know they've taken the flowers away, which we've always enjoyed. I even asked if I could have an onboard credit for the flowers from the flower cart, and they wouldn't allow that. Not sure what the problem is.

Unfortunatly, I think there is an effort to reduce benefits for the C&A levels from what they were before. It used to be that there was a special event for Diamond and Diamond+ on board, but now it is all lumped together with Platinum with a less elaborate, crowded event.

Upgraded bathroom amenities being eliminated and no more bathrobes for Diamond are being discussed on other boards.....it seems to be hit and miss for now....but there certainly seems to be cut backs.

I knew I'd get both of you to answer! LOL Thanks PH8 and Sanjoseca. I'm happy to hear I'm not losing my mind. DH will be disappointed if it's true about the robes. I read about it on the big board and guess I'll just have to see on Sunday if we get them on the Mariner. PH8 I sure hope it's Mondavi, that LaTerre stuff is undrinkable and always gives me a headache.

I agree that the perks have become pretty unnoticeable not that I care that much about them. I'd still sail on RCI for the crew and the service. I've tried the others but always come back to Royal since it feels like family.

Thanks for the answers.

Well, at least you're going on the Mariner............if it is LaTerre, there is always Vintages(My fav spot on the MA).......

I was in Vintages once on the Mariner....the only time I have been on a Voyager class. Nice evening in there....that was November 2003 on the maiden.

Glad to hear everyone speaking so highly about the Mariner. We'll be aboard, for the first time, on January 21, and very much looking forward to it.

Actually, I like the Radiance or Vision class a little better than Voyagers. I do think that I need to try Celebrity in the near future.....I kinda feel like I am stuck in a rut with RCCL right now....need a change of scenery. I have three RCCLs scheduled, but I can change them if I need to.

Re: Diamond Plus

Your Lordship should absolutely try one of the beautiful CEL ships.
(Whatever that has to do with D?!?!)

I've been on the Mariner before. I agree sanjoseca I would have liked a Radiance class ship more but I only live an hour from Pt. Canaveral so you can't beat it!

We tried Celebrity and liked it but we had a group of friends with us. We did the Mercury before she was refurbed. Not one of my favorites. My parents did the Constellation and loved it. I'd go again but on a newer ship. True, less perks on Celeb. but I'm not big into the perks as long as the crew is great.

Happy New Year All!!!! Thanks for the responses.

I will be trying a CEL, Roland.

I have heard the same thing about Mercury, Rose.....would definately be using a millenium or Solstice class.

I tried to book the Trans Atlantic on the Constellation for September, but it is completely sold out.
