I'm still waiting for the new news on the Mariner??? Though I do have something good to report. I'm sailing with friends on January 21st, in a room by myself. The Diamond Plus desk called last Friday to see what TWO amenities I'd like to have. I was pleasantly surprised.

Sorry I have to wash.......We got a sticker for our card that said Diamond Plus! They also have a new program being a secret shopper, so new Guest relations had no clue. Shop in onboard store and get $10.00 off any store not just logo stuff. Glad to see that as I sure don't need any RCI stuff anymore. LOL!

I had a really hard time on board with the LA. She pretty much accused me of lying........Went to her on day 3 because I didn't get the wine from C&A (not that I wanted it that badly but it's the principle) and she said she'd check it out. On day 5 I went to her again and she told me that it was sent to my stateroom on day 1. I told her someone else got it as I hadn't and that was the end of it for her.

A friend had the wine sent to my room immediately (by the way it was Mondavi Chardonnay) by calling his boss. It turned into a nightmare with accusations behind the scenes with the crew. No one got in any trouble except probably the LA for the comments I left behind.

I have never been treated so poorly by a LA before and I sure hope I don't again. I am not a whiner or complainer and I really hated to complain but she deserved it. If she had called me and I didn't have to chase her it would have been fine but I really felt like she pretty much called me a liar! The LA did very little this trip but book cruises but she wasn't busy at her desk until day 5. We never saw her, she didn't give us the luggage tags and told all of us to go to the concierge, she didn't escort any of the behind the scene tours, nothing. It was like we didn't exist to her. Wonder if they are getting incentives for booking trips?????

Let me say that all in all the Mariner is a wonderful ship with a great crew. Becky Thompson CD (who broke some ribs) will be returning this week on a part time basis. RCI has the most marvelous crews on their ships and that's why I love them, this trip was the same. Ship was in excellent shape but really needs that new bedding. Weather was perfect and the food decent. One blip in the road but only good memories remain.

So someone tell me what else they know???? 2 perks??? interesting.

Dear sr,

My personal experience, although very small for certain reasons, is that the LA is totally unnecessary on all and every ships.
So, no surprise to me I´m afraid.

I have never been impressed with most of the Loyaly Ambassadors....the one on the RD wasn't very good at all....Vision, either. There have been a lot of complaints on the boards.

I don't understand the secret shopper comment, though.

Diamond plus got a flier asking us to go shopping in any store and answer a few questions. In return they gave you a $10 credit. I bought my son some Jack $18 and got $10 back.

This LA was just rude to start with and very uncaring. I've had to go to many LA's for things but this one was disinterested and passed everything along to the concierge or someone else. Oh I forgot, the 6th day on the ship she called and asked if I got the wine "we" sent. She had nothing to do with it. BTW, I gave the wine to a crew member.

Oh, I get it now, the coupon is not a normal D+ item.

The treatment by the LA is pretty bad considering what the title is supposed to mean.

I think the LAs, in general, are resting on the fact that they are considered over worked. RCI is implementing a coupon system for future cruises to pass some of their workload onto TAs, but I would bet that management is not doing anything to get their attitudes to change right now.

Too bad....with the overcrowding in the Concierge lounges, the satellite lounges have simply become bars and have lost some of the intimacy. That coupled with indifference of the Loyalty Ambassadors and the trim backs on C&A benefits, RCI is sending the absolute wrong message to their loyal customers.

Too bad.....but I still like 'em.

Wow.........that LA wasnt very nice,but like others have said,most of them havent been,,,,,,,,(Ok,I liked the one on the Sovereign)........was the CL overcrowded??

MIA stands for RCCL in Miami and in this case I was referring to COO, SVP Total Guest Satisfaction and SVP N American Sales.
