Re: Give Me Liberty or Give Me the Big Cats 9/15/07 (or Give Me Both!)
Good morning all,
Tommy/Regina, I agree, I will avoid the ships excursions if at all possible. This past cruise we booked a horse ride and dive on our own...far better service, smaller groups and much lower price! Has anyone been looking at excursions for the Liberty of the Seas sailing? I know Jim wrote something about a friend that does diving charters in St. Marten, that sounds like a good idea.Tommy, are you still getting your certification? I'm not sure I want to do a all day excursion in St. Marten though, it's arguably my favorite island and one of Anne's favorite places to shop. In all the reviews I have read about the Freedom, there hasn't been anything about crowds and long lines. Most seem to state the ship seems more open now with the increase in size.
On our upcoming 4 day cruise we decided to go in a day early, rather than drive down the day of the cruise. After scouring all the travel sites looking at the rediculous hotel rates for Memorial weekend, we decided to play Priceline again. I started last week at $60 for a four star and got an accepted bid of $74 last night...still far better then the cheapest hotel in the area. Jim, we are staying at the Hilton again. As Jim will state, the hotel is absolutely beuatiful, top notch! Unfortunately the staff at the front desk leave a lot to be desired...very rude! Jim, I'll let you know if your favorite person is still there.
Sheree, as soon as you get the vacation scheduled, we can all plan the stay in Miami. Sorry to hear about the tooth.
Jim, we got the disk a few days ago, we are going to watch it today.
Cris, give our best to Denise and her family, glad to see her dad is doing well.
