hi everone -- i am back from my orthopedic doctors.

i have a 'y' break in the radius bone -- almost like 2 fractures.

they removed the soft cast and i selected a blue cast for the next 6 weeks -- then i will have a portable cast for 4 weeks. they will determine then how many sessions and weeks of therapy i will need. each week i have to go back for exrays to make certain that the bone is healing properly.

i just hope that i will be able to make our june 10 alaskan cruise.

10 days before we left for the airport i had just gotten over a bad case of spinal stinosis -- it reared it's ugly head overnight

In the old days, you broke a bone, went to the doctor, they put it in a cast, told you to come back in two months, took the cast off, you moved on with your life......

yes things have changed

yesterday was a long day

first i had to see my doctor as i am still having a lot of pain in my ribs - especially on the right side

then i had x-rays done of the ribs -- hope to soon get a report on them

I hope that your pain eases and you didn't break any ribs. It sounds like you have a road ahead of you with PT and cast changes! I hope the bone heals completely so you can get back to cruising soon!
