the report came back -- no cracked or broken ribs

all the muscles and whatever else is close by are all badly bruised and will take time to heal

Yonnie - thank goodness for the "favor" that there were no broken or cracked ribs. Yes, the muscle pain will be uncomfortable but hopefully that will lessen in time and with the help of PT.

pt is a long way off -- at least not for 2 months according to the schedule the orthopedic surgeon gave me

had a good day yesterday and a bad night last night -- ups and downs are to be expected

last night i decided to sleep in my recliner where i could also use my moist heat from time to time on my back -- so got about 6 hours sleep and wasn't disturbing joe all night

i was given vicodin -- i was first given this medication in january when i was diagnosed with spinal stinosis and had no problems with it

but this time it is giving violent headaches from time to time and inspite of taking it with food it is still upsetting my stomach

i really had hoped that by now the pain where the fracture is would have let up

for years i used to take darvoset and never experienced any problems with it -- but now it has been taken off the market

i was taken off the medication on friday as the pills were making me sick

the pain on the right side of my body just doesn't want to ease up

monday i have an x-ray of the fraction -- if it looks as though it is not healing -- then it has to be operated on

i saw my orthopedist yesterday morning -- now that the swelling is down the new x-rays showed several more tiny fractures near the main fractures -- he did not see any healing of the bones in the last 10 days

so i go back in 2 weeks for more x-rays and a new cast

wednesday i started to get a little numbness in a couple of the fingers -- called doctor -- can't see me until today -- and not at the local office -- about 15 miles away

don't think that i will keep appointment as a snow storm is due here in a couple of hours

i'll just keep wiggling my fingers -- color has greatly improved in the fingers the last 36 hours

i don't want to sound like a cry baby over every little thing

Yonnie, your cast might be too tight. Maybe because your arm swelled after it was applied. Keep it elevated and if you can't get to dr, at least ask him what to do. If this is the case, he would just remove and reapply the cast but if you can't get in there because of the weather, you have to ask his advice. Keep us updated and FEEL BETTER.

I think it's a good sign that your fingers have a good color, but I'd want to ask the doctor what's causing the tingling.

i have kept the arm elevated since the night of the accident nearly 24/7 -- getting dressed is a big issue -- washing hair -- arm in plastic bag and down at side

did not make it to the doctor today -- roads were bad and joe is a terrible driver -- left a message -- never heard back from either office

thigs were good today
