You are NOT kidding.............the prices are INSANE.............No way could we do a European one now or even that TA I would like.........it would cost about $4500 for a balcony then you have air plus pre hotel stay plus excursions to do it right......I figure at least 10K too.............

Take a look at www.rccl.com and the new European cruises for 09.........all the balconies start at approx 2500 EACH................even an inside is close to 2K...:

I agree.... I guess Adam whatever is really serious about cruising for the rich....... what blows my mind is all the people saying they already have booked! What did I do wrong???? =huh=?

TA just emailed me- Celebrity has their European cruises out and are less than RCI!!

Can you believe it?? 12 night Venice $5,... and RCI $6,...

OMG- My TA just emailed me with a 7 night X cruise from Barcelona for Nov, 2009: Barcelona, Cannes, Portofino, Florence, Rome, Naples/Capri, sea day, Barcelona....balcony cabin $1199pp/2657.08cabin!!!

I'm here. Sorry, been running around this week. Having to make a quick trip to the UK to visit my family. But I am following all your plans for trips. There is no doubt the European cruises are way too expensive. I may have to trim down our plans this year as well. I would still like to do a TA though. That X one sounds good Martha.

Thinking about the X cruise, to be honest. Think everyone would want to go to Italy for a week???

Glad to hear from you Kate.......we were worried about you..........hope everything is ok.........

I doubt everyone would go for a European cruise,but you never know...........Cindy did say she wanted to go.........but truthfully,I prefer sticking with RCCL...(I want the credits)...........but go ahead, throw the idea round on our other thread and see........it sure is cheaper than RCCL....

Hang on..........just found the VY does the Med for about the same price............ $2500(and thats before any p/d discount) so its cheaper than X..

I guess if RCI's prices are going to limit me to 1 cruise a year, I'd rather it be a great one! The Mexican Riviera is good....never been,
so we'll see.

I guess the ship is NOT the destination for me, but the places we see.
My Dad worked 3 jobs all his life to support us and wanted to travel when he retired, but got sick 6 mos. before retirement and never really got to enjoy his retirement. I don't want that to happen to me~~

Same with my folks,Martha,.........I worked for the airlines and they could have flown all over of next to nothing,.but never did........My mom finally went to England(she loved all the Royal stuff) with a friend of hers..........that was really her biggest trip ever cuz then my dad died...........

My theory is live for today cuz you never know....

We are still looking at the Celebrity cruise to Italy Nov, 2009....really torn between going with the group and seeing Italy!

I see Vision is going to be based outta Copenhagen and do NoEurope......


Royal Caribbean announced yesterday an 8th Ship in Europe for 2009!
Vision of the Seas will begin to sail from her home port: of Copenhagen, Denmark, Oslo Norway and Stockholm Sweden.



Vision will also sail special 10 & 11 N Holy Land itineraries from new homeports of Athens and Istanbul.



Vision Europe deployment is expected to open April 2008.



We're trying to decide what to do in spring of 09............maybe a b2b Freedom outta Pt Canaveral............or the Ulimate Alaska(west coast of US up to Alaska)................Of course, have to see how much everything will cost.......

I love the itinerary...We both have wanted to see Italy and the X cruise is your basic Italian places...esp, Portofino. We talked about it again today...just don't know what to do. I think the Mariner cruises will be pretty expensive. They look that way now. I guess we will have to wait and see............

We also are looking for spring.

I wonder if Kate is in the UK? Hope everything is okay....

The X cruise starts the balcony cabins @ $1199, which looks about the same as the Mariner cruises out of Ca. I was surprised to see how expensive these were.

You're right....we'll just have to wait and see. More new itineraries come out tomorrow. I love when they come out, so you can see all the changes! I think we will be on EOS when Mexico goes on sale.
