Maw,

Holland America says that for semi-formal nights dress code for men is a jacket (no tie required). So I think that the blazer, with nice pants will do just fine. I'm also guessing that a lot of people will show up without jackets for semi-formal night. JMHO.

I'm also beginning to look at shore excursions. I'm also e-mailing some dive centers on St. Thomas and Antigua (Suer - or is that St. Johns).

I'd say any nice shirt with the blazer would be fine. We'll see all different varieties of dress. Thw women will have to help you Maw.

Maw - I was confused too with all this formal, informal, casual stuff. There has been lots of board talk on this subject which made me a bit nervous. After getting the brochure with our docs that has the formal wear for women to rent, I realized it's not that big of a deal and what I have works fine. I wear a basic black dress for formal. For informal a pair of slacks and maybe a blouse with some jewlery should do the trick. (remove the jewerly and reuse the outfit for casual night). Black slacks and cream blouses are pretty well neutral and acceptable wear without spending lots of $$ on attire. I'm a jeans person so odds are I will just bring what I wear to work and make due.

Maureen I think you posted prior to reading my email. I called the hotel direct and they said they dont have an offer for 123.00. I call 1-800-HI (or whatever iit is) and they said it is sold out. Oh well. Thankx for the heads up on this hotel. Now if we can get Red/E and Surfergirl/WHG to move.....

I think I made some decisions about shore excursions, but first have to run them by DW.

I think I'm going to scuba dive on HMC while DW relaxes at the beach. Then I'll join her after the dive.

St. JohnSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS (or is it Antigua?) - I'm leaning towards Lawrence of Antigua for sightseeing and beach time. Maureen, I know you're interested. Let me check with Shelley and perhaps we can do something with that by early next week.

St. Thomas - I think I'll go scuba diving here. DW will avail herself of the spa and then we'll possibly head to a beach.

St. Maarten, San Juan - Still working on them.

I was going to leave my car in the driveway while gone. But after checking around, decided to park it in the garage instead.:grin

Suer,

Congratulations on your docs. If you want to know anything, the rest of us will be happy to tell you all about them. :grin

I'm going to check with the boss and get the OK about booking Lawrence of Antigua. Anyone else interested? Maureen and Kelly are also going. I'll ask him how many he can accomodate in case anyone else decides to join later.

I have a question for Suzie, Maureen and Mary. DW says that she can't wear the dress in the HAL-O-Weenie photo, because other people have now seen it. Me, being the sympathetic male that I am, think she's nuts. Well, the three of you are in formal dresses. Would you wear them on the HAL-O-Weenie cruise, even though we've seen you in them already?

Orcrone, what do the docs say about St. JohnSSSSSS? :lol

Welcome aboard JerseyVic.

Generally I stay away from the dress code issue. I dont judge a book by its cover. Seeing a "used" outfit on someone will not ruin my cruise nor my dinner. I promise not to look at the photo gallery again if the dress in reference is the one she is wearing on the cruise. I will still talk to her. But on the other hand if it will save from a major discussion on the homefront, I guess getting a new dress wont be the end of the world either.

Hey Vic! You made it over here.. cool...

Marc - to answer the dress question.. Yes.. I reuse my formal dresses. I also don't really notice if others do too. But, that's just my thing and each person is different. I'm concentrating more on finding that "perfect" dress for my son's wedding so I'm going to stick with the attire I have.
