Heard you were in KW the same day as Dennis,BB.............so close,yet so far....

Happy Easter, gang! We'll be heading for K&G's later this afternoon for dinner. I still need to send Bert off to the store for a bottle of wine. Trying to decide what goes best with spiral sliced ham.=huh

PH - Funny about Dennis being in KW same day as us. Here's a correction though - HE was in KW ... WE were on the ship! We got a late start to the day and finally said the heck with it and stayed on the ship. Shouldn't have done that though, as we missed Grand Cayman due to rough seas and there was no way I was getting off the ship in Jamaica when I saw where we were docked. So this turned into the cruise to nowhere for us. We still had a great time!

Wow.sorry you didnt get to the ports,but hey,not like you have never been.................for some reason,I just assumed you did the ECarib since thats your fav.....

Good morning! Looks like another beautiful day here in the Sunshine State. We really need some rain though, so hopefully, the rain called for later today will arrive.

I do like the eastern itinerary better, but being this was the only week K&G could go (Spring break for Emily), we couldn't be too fussy. There were over 500 kids on the ship, but aside from the last sea day when some of them were running all over doing a scavenger hunt, they weren't a problem. Camp Carnival kept them busy all week. Emily & Ethan wanted to be there every minute they could. That tells you something!

The one place we hated on this trip was the casino. It is now a cashless casino! Aside from putting money in the slots, everything ran through your sign & sail card. You had to put your card into the slot and, if you wanted to cash out, it went on your card. There was no other way to play. Needless to say, we didn't go to the casino at all. First time that ever happened!

The food was definitely better than RCCL's. Dining room had many choices and food was cooked to perfection ... tasty and large portions. David's Supper Club was awesome. It really runs rings around Chops & Portofino.

Nightly entertainment was fantastic. We skip the shows with the singers and dancers. Other nights they had comics, a comic ventriloquist , and the final night they did Carnival Legends ... passengers doing various personalities like Madonna, Britney, Elvis, Garth, and Elton and backed up by the dancers. That show was great! We really enjoyed all the shows we went to. Best part was that you never had trouble getting seats either!

All in all, it was a fun trip. There was no rowdiness like some people associate with Carnival. It actually was quieter some nights than on Royal Caribbean!

So now that we're back to reality, Bert's off to the store to get what I need for dinner tonight. It is Monday, so you know what that means!

Sounds like a great cruise..........always nice to get away...................nothing like it.............

Forced myself to go to the gym today...it was packed.they had a membership drive and boy,did they get alot of new members..........made it kinda hot in there.........yuck.....

Now I think I'll go grill the pork chops Im having for dinner.........supposed to storm later so I 'll grill now and just slice them up and put them on a salad for later...........

Hey BB, thanks for the write up on Carnival. I'm glad that you had a good time on board. It's interesting that Carnival is starting to get a lot more accolades, while times look really tough for RCI on the various boards.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what RCI has become in June.....hope that I am not terribly disappointed. The whole family will be aboard, so, no matter what, it's going to be a great trip.

PH, do you keep your luggage permanently packked now?

Morning! Nothing good about it around here - severe t-storms and tornado watch until 2. It was pouring here about an hour ago and it looks like another round of storms should be moving in any minute now. It's getting real dark again. According to those supposedly in the know, this weather should move out later this afternoon and the sun should return.

San - I too am curious to see what noticeable cutbacks have recently been made by RC. Guess we'll find out when we go on the Monarch next month.

sorry to be MIA all day.......I spent my time and money at the dentist today.........have 2 crowns put in........I had to have 5 shots of novacaine and my jaw is aching now...........I was awake half the night with the storm and was at the dentist by 9..........so after the torture,I came home and basically slept on and off till now....................I get to go back May 5th for the permanent ones.........


Heard about the revision for the D members............anyone get the letter from AG?? I dont know if I did........I use another email for that stuff................

PH - Ouch! I hope your jaw has stopped aching by now.

Didn't get the letter, but read it on CC. Sounds pretty fair, except for giving only a 25% discount on mixed drinks. Bert didn't like that part as he likes rum & coke. I'm glad I drink wine!:D

Hi all.......

No email for me.maybe cuz we all are DP,we didnt one........................doesnt effect us.............we still get to use the CL when there is no DL,right??? So we dont have to worry.thats only for the D members(if Im reading it right)........

My jaw is fine,thanks.......took a Tylenol PM last night and slept like a baby................

Have the doctor today..............follow up to blood work last week....................bet my bad habits are catching up with me.........(but hope not).........

I think as D+ers we have a choice of going to the CL (if there is one) or the diamond party. At least that's the way I interpreted what was written on some of the CC posts. Just like on the ships with the CL and DL and how D+ can go to either lounge. I'm sure Bert would rather go to the CL, so he wouldn't have to pay 75% of the cost of his drink!:cool:

Glad you got a good night's sleep. Hope you made out ok with your doctor appointment.

Back from the doctor and Im totally depressed...........meds,diet, exams.....sucks getting old................

anyway,I think if there is a CL AND a DL, we can only use the DL........the CL is for the suite snobs......

if no DL,then we can go to either(party or CL),but whos going to pick the party????

and if the ship doesnt have a CL, then we go to the party................

think thats right???????????????????????????????????????

Just checking in with you all... Carl is feel a "little" better, but still not much energy........ He is having a real hard time coming back from this last bout. And my back does feel somewhat
better, but sure hope it get better than this....... You all take care...... Love to all, Marcia

Marcia - Thanks for checking in with us. Glad that Carl is feeling a bit better. Also that your back feels better. As PH said, you and Carl are very special people to us and your Florida "family" worries about you both. Sending a big (((HUG))) up your way.

I should have stayed home last night, but, NO, I HAD to go to the neighborhood watch meeting. Got roped in to help at the spring carnival for the kids on Saturday. I did tell them that there is no way I'm sitting out in the sun for 3 hours though. They promised I'll be in the big tent running one of the kiddie games. Oh joy!!! Bert & I had planned to go to the exotic car show in Celebration, but he didn't sound too upset when I said we can't go this year after all.

Thanks all, my spine doctor (actually the nurse) called to see how I was feeling this morning. She is now going to talk to Dr. Portugal about my back.

Marcia - That's great that your doctor's office is concerned enough about you to call. You don't find much of that these days. Lucky you!
