You Florida folks are funny.......complain about the heat, then when it gets cool, you want the heat back. We in NE would never do that
How would you like snow on Sunday, then 70 degrees on Wednesday. Talk about a temperature swing!
PH, that rate at the HR isn't bad. We get "free" rooms at Mohegan, but I called to get a room for Oct. 11 and was told no more "free", but that had a really good deal for me.....$499 per night (notice no decimal point between the 4 and th 99, LOL) so we just waited until Oct. 18 for the "free" room!
We've been to the Tampa Hard Rock a couple of times and enjoyed it. Last time we went we should have signed up for their Players Club cards, but we didn't, so we will definitely do that the next time. Actually won some at the Tampa location. It's much smaller than the casinos in Connecticut, though. Massachusetts is trying to legalize casino gambling, but there are some people who still rail about the "evils" of gambling, like smoking and drinking aren't "evils", too! (Well, maybe not the "drinking").
Problem is the land......they need to put a casino somewhere near major highways and public transportation, but we don't have much land with those specs. We have a large tract in a community about 25 miles south of here, but there is a lot of opposition from neighbors to the land. They want the tranquil lifestyle they have, and a casino would definitely impact that....besides, there is a huge over 55 community that would border the casino land, and the owners are trying to stop it. Proponents talk about the tax revenue that Mass is losing to Conn....all you have to do is check out the license plates of the cars in the parking lots......at least 75% of them are NOT from CT, but from MA, RI, NH, NY. I am really glad the casino is a 2+ hours ride from us....we have to make a trip to go, it'snot something you can do for an evening.....good thing, as we wouldn't have any money for cruises if the casino was closer
Time to go to the office.
