KC & Marcia - RCI is not doing Canada/NE next year on Enchantment. Too bad, because those ports are terrific. Don't know why, except maybe the ships weren't as full as they would like them to be. Jewel is doing Bermuda & Caribbean next year after it's transatlantic.
San - welcome home to you and Nancy. Sorry I couldn't make lunch. I definitely got the short end of that deal. QM2 was OK - too dark for my taste. Also, don't like the idea that your cabin selection determines your dining assignment - not only that, but did see a number of areas marked "Queens Grille Guests Only", and really don't like the "class" ideas Guess that's why they insist QM2 is an "Ocean Liner" and not a 'Cruise ship". Also, all balconies are carved out of the hull, making them unattractive, IMHO. QM2 had a heavy cigarette smell that turned me off. Also, seemed to have a lot of unused space - large areas of the deck were just teak decking - no chairs, no lounges (and no people). Had lunch(beef tenderloin) in Brittania restaurant (one for the common folks), and it was just OK. Dessert was chocolate souffle - which was not thoroughly cooked so the middle was yucky! Solarium pool was unattractive, but the spa pool was gorgeous, even if it was totally inside and smelled of too much eucalyptus for me.
We spent almost two hours outside looking at the Enchantment before we were allowed on - I kept an eye out for you and Nancy, but never did find you - guess you stayed onboard for a bit.
Read your account of your EN trip - Quebec City is truly a beautiful place to visit. Did you get to ride the funicular? We stayed at the Chateau Frontenac a few years ago - view is spectacular and we commented how nice it would be to cruise up the river and dock at the foot of the city. You are lucky to have had that experience.
Welcome home - maybe we can get together on your next Boston trip (or our next left coast trip, you just never know!)
And I didn't bother to sign himself off, so it really is me.
