Prayers needed for a dear, longtime friend

DH and I learned today that a close friend of his from college, with whom we have both kept in regular contact, has been diagnosed with brain cancer. We'll know more in the next few days, yet the initial belief is that a melanoma he had a few years ago has metastasized to his brain, and possibly his lungs. The prognosis is uncertain. Please keep our friend AJ in your thoughts and prayers. I've seen what brain cancer can do.

Thank you.

Thank you, Cutie and Whimsy.

Whimsy, I hadn't known, or had (unfortunately) forgotten. My thoughts are with you, also. HUGS.

Prayers for AJ and his family, and Whimsy's family also.

My friend is also battling brain cancer, and has for almost 5 years now. She was supposed to start chemo again this morning (it would be her 6th chemo rounds since I've known her) but when she got to hospital, someone in the dr's office had forgotten to put her on the schedule! Back on Tuesday...

Thank you again. Glo, thanks for the update on your friend, as well. I just spoke with AJ. His spirits are good, despite a prognosis that is not. As expected, he got confirmation today that this is related to the melanoma. He also learned that, in addition to his brain, it also spread to his lung (which was suspected) and to his liver. This is DH's best friend, and they go back 30+ years, so this is hard on him. Thank you again.

Oh Lisa, I am so sorry. I know too well how difficult this is for all his close and wider family. I have known too many people fighting cancer, and it is astounding how all of them are so brave and have such an amazing attitude. I learn a lot from people such as your husband's best friend. Bless him!

My friend's brain cancer is not the type that can spread, it just grows and gets larger. But, it is inoperable, and does seem to shrink with each chemo set. In addition to her brain cancer, Angela also has lupus, lung and heart issues, etc. No matter how bad I might hurt from my nerve injuries, I think of Angela, and I realize I don't have much to complain about.

Lisa - I will add your dear friend to my prayer list. Also, hugs to you and your hubby as I know how tough it is to hear this kind of news about someone so close.

Thank you, all. DH will be visiting him this weekend (as he lives quite a distance from us). It was one of these situations that he was told to visit now as opposed to later. AJ is getting the best of care and will participate in an experimental treatment plan. Please keep the prayers coming, as the diagnosis is, in fact, poor.
