Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good morning. In a bit will go pick up a Rx and some other pills for Bruce. Later will make a cake and have to do a load of Bruce's laundry.

Well Salvation Army had sold the wheelchair so after getting home I looked up and found a few that I like so have saved them. Also asked for a quote for renting a wheelchair for the Alaska cruise and depending on the cost most likely will be buying one as no problem getting it on an airplane and of course will have it for other cruises.

All have a great day.

Good morning!

Nancy - I have a folding wheelchair that is lightweight and is one of the best things w ever bought. I use it anytime we have to go somewhere in the car, be it a doctor visit, shopping or going out for dinner. Bert bought it at Walgreen's and caught it on sale.

Karen - I'm sure I missed you by now, but I wanted to tell you to have a safe and fun trip to visit your brother. Are all you girls going?

Heard from the car repair place. They did find that the alternator is shot, so that is being replaced before they try to figure out what the chattering is all about. We have Missy's car here, but Bert doesn't want to use it unless it's a necessity for fear pf damaging it. Missy told him to get over it and use the car. Hopfully, this afternoon we will get that chance. Got a few things I need from the store.

Our visit with friends yesterday was a lot of fun. Lots of chatting about where one was on vacation and where the other two are going later this month. Only ones not going anywhere or doing anything are Bert & I. :( Only thing we have to look forward to id going to more doctors. UGH!!! Our friends also brought us a bottle of moonshine from their last trip to PA. Also brought a container of frozen peach slices to put in a glass of the moonshine. Boy, is that good!

Making filet mignon for dinner tonight with shrimp cocktail appetizer, plus a nice bottle of wine to wash it all down. It's so nice not having others living with us, so we can have meals like this again!!

Time to think about making something for lunch before I convince Bert that we need to go shopping. Have a super wonderful afternoon, gang!

August has arrived much too quickly and it is already evident in the earlier sunsets.
Had what likely turns out to be my last annual checkup with my oncologist. It has been 15 years since my parotidectomy and 18 since I finished chemo for lymphoma, so the doctor said that unless something arises that would make me want to see him again, he did not need to see me next year. He actually said the magic word: "cured".
Would that all my other medical appointments could be as successful.

When was the last time Bert did any serious damage tp your Caddy, Pat? I'm guessing that the answer is "not in quite a while". If I am right, or there is some feature in Missy's car that causes him to be uneasy about driving it, I'd remind him of that fact and not let yourselves be without transportation while the Caddy is being fixed.
Safe travels Karen. Enjoy your family visit. Everyone else, stay safe and try to stay cool.

Enjoy your space you rascally rabbits and chill a bit when improvements don't actually improve like they should. Patience is a virtue for bunnies also.

Bill, that is great news from your oncologist! I’m so happy for you!
I most certainly would entrust my vehicle to Bert Like Missy has done. I’m pretty sure that he would be super careful. That dinner sounds tasty. Is this the start of lots of little things going wrong enough with The Caddy to convince Bert it may need to be traded in?
Maybe there’s a wheelchair out there with your name on it Nancy. Pat made a good suggestion to check the pharmacies.
Ya Dave, that’s about time for the battery to start to give up. I’m led to believe that hot weather is just as hard on automotive batteries as the cold weather is! Did Kathi and Jack graduate with honours?
Safe travels there and back Karen and a good time in the middle.
How are tricks in “Pure Hot Michigan” today Kathie?
You fine folks all have dandy rest of today and a great Wednesday!

Negc: Congrats on the "CURED" report. Nice feeling to have one down!

Karen: I missed you, but if you read along while away have a FUN TIME with your family. Such a nice thing for all of you to do to cheer up your Sister-in-law.
Nice of the lady to send you the gift card.

BB: Your dinner sounds yummy. How is G&E's remodel coming along on that house? You and Bert need to do a drive over there once you get the Caddy back.

Lee: How's the deck trim/railing coming along? Don't be out there on Thursday. It's supposed to be close to 100F. Not worth fainting over. Of course, you can jump in the pool. That's one fantastic huge pool. How big is it?

Nancy: If you have a Kiwanis Club in your area they might be able to lend you a wheelchair. I got all kinds of items from ours when my knee was bad. They have a storage area and it must have had 2 hundred walkers! Wheelchairs, canes, chair potties, etc, etc. Worth checking out.

DAVE: Last but not least. That's a really hefty bill for 2 prescriptions. Yikes! And how did JACK do in his class. Or should I say.... how well did Kathi do! ;)

I've been busy running to the fantastic "Container Store" for things to make my life easier in this kitchen. I'm downsizing on glasses. Don't entertain like we use to and some of this stuff, as pretty as it is, just has to go! I'm going to put it on the site we have that is GIVE only in the area. Watch I won't be able to even give it away. Ha Ha.

Lots of shelves being done. I found some really nice padded stuff for the drawers with the pots and pans. Finding places to make life easy for me when in the kitchen is the hardest. I've already moved 2 drawers around.:rolleyes: Slow but sure I'm clearing out the dining room.
The JUNK DRAWERS is going to be a LONG JOB. I just have to PITCH, PITCH, PITCH.
I'll get pictures as soon as the contractor comes back to finish the island. That happens when the replacement doors & drawers come in. Also, 2 pieces of Crown Molding needs to be put up around the hood vent. I haven't taken off the heavy duty wrapping yet. Waiting until they are totally done. Don't want any scratches. We are using the stovetop and microwave so far. Slow but sure.

Okay gang. This gal is tired. I'm off to hit the couch.

By the way I think it's great that Pelosi actually did go to Tiwan. One fisty woman.

Be safe.

BSeabob; If you think that Bunnies have patience, I'd like to know your opinion of the Tooth Fairy.

Good for you Bill for getting "cured" of something. I can't get cured of pimples.

Hope KC is having fun in W. Palm Beach by now. I find it's so nice that many of the people she's been helping out have forked out some cash or a gift card to say thanks.

BB; I sure hope that car mechanic of yours doesn't keep adding more items to your "broke" list. If he does, your name could soon be on that list.

As a northerner like you Lee, I always cringe whenever temperature goes below zero, wondering if the car's battery could handle it. We did have a new battery put in Kathi's SUV, just because of its' age. No honors for Jack when he graduated puppy training. He kinda knows the commands, but it's going to take a lot of practice before he can actually be called trained.

Oh yea, they had him wear a miniature graduation hat.

K2; We are for sure pack-rats. Why do we keep all those oddball glasses and coffee cups?

Around here today it's suppose to be hot and muggly. But it sure beats that below freezing temperature I mentioned.

This is another day where I count my blessings. Turning on the morning news can be downright scary. Wildfires, flooding, Ukraine, Covid, Monkey Pox, shootings and on and on. What little I have to complain about is pretty petty.

Good morning. No real plans for me today. tonight Bruce goes for the sleep study and he really is not looking forward to it. He feels that he won't be able to get to sleep.

Lee, I have looked at pharmacies for wheelchairs and they are more expensive.

K2 I will think about checking with the Kiwanis Club, but I do think that buying one is best.

All have a great day.

Good morning and happy hump day!! Off an running this morning. I get to actually see the surgeon this morning who did my surgery. He gets to inspect his handiwork and hopefully, we won't be making a weekly trip to his office.

Nancy - Have you checked ebay or Amazon for a wheelchair? Might catch a good price there.

Bill - Congrats on being "cured". One less doctor for you to go to now. Lucky you!!

Lee - You be careful working outside with this heat. Nice that you have a pool to jump into to cool off. Our temps are slowing slipping back to normal after the sweltering heat of the past week. Only going to be about 93 today.

Dave - I'd love to see a picture of the "graduate" in a mini mortar board. That would be too cute.

Kathie - We've got lots of those offs and ends in the kitchen cabinets. We've already promised outselves to go through each and every cabinet to see what we want to keep and what goes. After having the last crew staying with us, a lot of stuff never made it back to where it belongs. They just put stuff anywhere they wanted just to get it out of the way.

So we should get the Caddy back on Monday, if the driveshaft comes in on Friday. Like I said, big bucks, but it has to be done. So now we have something else to deal with - our AC decided to take a crap last night and it froze up! Bert managed to get it going again by jeri-rigging it overnight. AC guy will be here after we get back from the doctor today.

Never made the steaks last night. I was just too tired, so we just had sandwiches. Steak will be on the menu tonight.

Time to get ready for our adventure for today. Only one problem with Missy's car - the AC is too cold and we don't know how to lower it. I need to wear a sweatshirt while in the car. It's that cold!!

Have a wonderful day, everyone, and stay safe!

Well I have ordered a wheelchair thru ebay, the price was right and the seller has a sale going on that took more off the price and of course free shipping. Could not beat the price anyplace else and it is a name brand wheelchair. I also bought a gel seat cushion for a price that was the best. The wheelchair has blue piping so it will stand out at least a bit. I will also add a ribbon that I use on our suitcases and a luggage tag with my name and cell number.

Wednesday Hump Day GIF by Chippy the Dog

Good Morning Wrabbits! Yikes.......black ink. I hardly ever use that! o_O

We got Stuffed crepe carry outs from our Pancake Factory early this morning to charge us up for more "CLEANING and SORTING"! Art is still busy "perfecting" the paint close to the stained shoe moldings. He just couldn't stand to look at 'imperfection' of some of the uneven paint. Hey, as long as I don't have to do it. He also did the same to the crown moldings up at the ceiling.
I managed to get ALL the shutters UNDUSTED late last night. When you can't sleep it's great to knock off a job or two instead of just watching some silly TV show until you're tired enough to crawl into bed. Nice to get that job done.

DAVE: We're having a OVERCAST day here with EXTREME HIGH HUMIDITY. Suppose to rain later. Ha Ha. They've been saying that for 2 weeks. Sure could use 'a little rain'. Not too much, just a little.

Don't want to be floating around like Kentucy. Feel bad for all the Moonshine equipment floating away in the floods. Good job getting a new battery for Kathi's car.

BB: Hope your appt goes well today. And if they fix much more on that Caddy you'll have a "rebuilt" that will outlive you and Bert! ;) We know that Bert is most likely going to drive that car until it just collapses. And sometimes a Sandwich is all we need on these hot evenings for dinner.

Nancy: Good job finding a wheelchair. Seems like you're all set for this Alaska trip. Hope the airlines don't mess with your reservations any more.
I'm with Bruce on the sleep test. I just can't imagine being all hooked up to machines and in a strange bed and place and expected to fall asleep. Just give me the C-Pak machine and make your money and be done with it.

Hope our girl KAREN is enjoying her time away. Hope somebody is watching the kitties too!

Lee: Get ready for a HOT one today. How's the railing project coming along. Did you bring your bathing suit with you? Don't be over working yourself buddy. It's going to be a ugly humid hot day.

Bill: Any cruises planned for you and Rita?

Out of here for now. Be safe if you're shopping around Wrabbits. Later.........

A few cruises on the horizon. The next one is a Canada-NE cruise out of Boston that takes us to two ports in Maine (Bar Harbor) and (Portland) and two in the Maritimes (Saint John, NB) and (Sydney, NS). We have several friends who will be joining us. The following month Kevin and Jamie are joining us on a cruise out of NJ that goes to Port Canaveral, Coco Cay, and Nassau, Bahamas. We may also be going on a brief (2 night) cruise on the newest RCI ship (Wonder of the Seas) in December. What we are really excited about, however, is a cruise in September, 2023 that goes roundtrip from Boston to Greenland.
Some success at cribbage last night as we won three of our five games and eked out a 6-5 victory. Word is, however, that last night, one of the teams took 12 points which should put them in a very strong position with so few weeks left.
I sympathize with you,Dave. Rita's prescription for Eliquis and mine for Januvia are expensive but our others are pretty reasonable. Hopefully something will be done in Congress to address the problem.
Had a very brief shower late yesterday but it did nothing to address our drought problem. Not only are our lawns dry and brown but a lot of the leaves on our flowering crab are already on the ground. I wouldn't recommend booking any Fall foliage tours in New England this year.
My doctors' appointment schedules won't be reduced by much, BB. For several years I have only had to see my oncologist once a year, but one less appointment is still one less.

Hard to say... It's been a quite long time since I was able to correspond with the tooth fairy. actually never on Forum about cruising. Wee notes that I left were always handled with understanding and lots of patience back then. In the good old days of course. You remember letters .....right?

Congrats JACK! You look fantastic. Now just remember what you were taught! LOL

Negc: Good for you having some cruises lined up. And about the leaves falling early.... we are seeing it here EVERYWHERE. NO RAIN and the heat are killing trees. Some people really need to know they have to water the trees.

I can't believe how many GLASSES we have in this house. Trying to pitch or at least give away glasses we don't use anymore. Some are really nice! Just can't see putting them back in cupboards to gather dust and need to get washed!

I'm on my break right now. Art has been busy making the moldings and the wall paint meet up with perfection. NO CROOKED 'OVER-PAINT' lines for this guy! A big oversight on the part of the contractor who wasn't good at DETAIL PAINTING at all. Good thing both guys were good at other areas of the kitchen!

I stuck my head outside and OH MY GOODNESS..... it's like a BLAST FURNACE out there~

Lee, I hope you and your construction gang is in the POOL right about now. Be careful out there in this extreme heat and HUMIDITY. Not worth getting sick over.

Okay, back to filling the cupboards.

A graduate, a wheelchair, a drive shaft, a whole new kitchen, a good night at cribbage. You bunnies have done well.
The temperature feels like 106F with the humidex. We got a lot done on the deck yesterday. Today I called it after a couple of hours. The other guys weren’t far behind.

We’re all headed out to one of the wineries for their “All request” night. They run it from 5:30 to 8:30. They have a great pizza oven and darned fine wine. It’s indoors and air conditioned which is good because we are now under a heat and thunderstorm watch!
You all have a fantastic evening! See you tomorrow.

Good Thursday morning Bunnies!

Here's a happy little tune to dance around the breakfast table with.
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5JqPxmYhlo

Yesterday our house air conditioner sure worked overtime keeping the castle cool. I wonder if the electric company will send us a thank-you card.

I've been thinking about all the oddball glasses and coffee cups we've collected over the years. Heck, somewhere around here we've got a coffee cup from the "Sands" in Las Vegas. The original round Sands that the Rat-Pack performed at. I remember when we were there, they still had ladies roaming around the casino exchanging bills for coins, so people could play the slots.

I still miss using coins. Sure they made your hands dirty, but there's nothing like the thrill of filling up a few cardboard buckets with your winnings.

From what I've seen of the ship, I think that all passengers of the Wonder-Of-The- Seas should be given an electric wheelchair to get around. Damn that thing is big.

Grocery shopping day. Smaller store. Nothing special on our list.
