Letting you folks know that I'm not much of a wine drinker. Looks like I'll have to start on the Wino Cruise.
I'm not much of a wine drinker either, TC. And from the looks of it, I'll stay away from anything Bruce suggests! :lol
ShipMaven, that makes two of us. :dizzy

Unfortunately, or fortunately, I won't be on the wino cruise, but I decided to read the posts, and while I was laughing hardy, I thought back to my clubbing days. Oh boy.... when I lived in Salt Lake City I used to go dancing at this gay bar called The Sun Tavern. On Wednesday nights, we would order a pitcher of beer for 25 cents, give a glass away, and then pour in a bottle of Annie Green Springs Plum Hollow wine. It was called a Purple Jesus, and it was delicious. Gees, I can't believe I ever drank that! Ugh...

The Sun Tavern was essentially Salt Lake City’s answer to New York City’s legendary Studio 54, with resident DJS fueling Utah’s disco fever. Its reputation brought in a host of celebrities, including Rock Hudson, Tab Hunter, Paul Lynde and Stevie Nicks. In fact, Paul Lynde got caught going there when he was on the Donny & Marie Show, and was kicked off the program.

Merry Christmas all your wine-heads. It sounds like you'll have a great time.

Is there a liquor store within walking distance from the Double Tree Hotel in San Pedro? Or should I ask the car service driver stop before dropping me off at the hotel?

There is liquor store between 1/4 to 1/2 mile away from your hotel. If you are coming in from LAX the driver will bring you down the 110 freeway getting off on Harbor. There are liquor/grocery stores along Harbor. I would stop at one of those. We have the same issue.....

Snowblower I'll be flying into LAX and my flight lands around 4:10pm, and should be at the hotel around 6:00ish. Thanks for the info.

We are sailing the last Mexico cruise prior to the wino cruise. Our issue is staying at a hotel near LAX prior to the first cruise and it isn't the best neighborhood to be wandering around. It has really become a bummer with the airlines and not allowing you to bring your swill in your carry-on anymore. We will get something figured out prior to sailing.......

Actually it isn't as bad as it might look. Pacific Princess is a very small ship (1/4 the amount of passengers as the Sapphire) and the Infinity will be docked a fair distance down the street (south) from us. One other thing about the Infinity is this is not a port stop, they will be boarding passengers for 10-day sail to Alaska.
