ShipMaven Update

I LOVE wonderful news! However.....I believe it's about time to begin with the bubble wrap and duct (duck?) tape just in case. It's either that or one of the fake Sumo wrestler suits. Perhaps we can borrow one long term from Ellen DeGeneres.

Thanks for sharing the good news, hope all goes well with the PT, looking forward to seeing you in June, and pace your self.

Again, thank you for your very kind comments and wishes.

I hate PT (Physical Terrorpy) but I know the old saying of no pain-no gain. In the past, PT never worked for me. Then I had to start PT several months prior to my first knee replacement - it began in February 2006. I've had PT on and off - mostly on - since then.:hammer:

If all works as planned, I get my travel scooter tomorrow.

And...oh yes...I'm collecting bubble wrap for my bubble wrap suit.

Well, my Travel Scooter is here and the lift has been added to my vehicle. It swings open as well to allow entry into the cargo space of my SUV. I simply tossed a little towel over my license plate to hide the number...

And everything is covered by insurance on one of my policies.

Is that basket big enough for Pucci?

Ha ha, Charles, that was my first thought too! LOL! A larger, padded basket is needed. Maybe with a small wind shield on the front!

I'm so sorry I missed this posting at first, and I'm so glad you got your scooter. This will really make a huge difference for you. My girlfriend needs one badly, but she won't get it, because she feels it's giving in to her brain cancer. But her quality of life would improve so much, as yours will.

I am grateful to read that you are healing up so well. Such wonderful news, Mele Ana.

My BIL has polio, and uses a truck with a crane to swing his motorized chair around to the drivers side. http://www.discountramps.com/al800-wheelchair-lift.htm

Mary Ann,

I am so glad your wounds are healing and you are back in PT. Nice scooter and I'm sure it's going to be a big help. I agree, Pucci needs a basket fit for a king!

Mary Ann, I have not been to C@s in forever.....been self absorbed, again. Congrats on the healing process. It sure has taken forever, but HEALING is GREAT! I hope that the scooter will be helpful to you in getting back on your feel. It is going to take a while to build up your stamina again. Hugs!!!!!!!

:thankyou:all. Your comments are very much appreciated as always.

For practice, I now use the scooter to go pick up my newspaper in the morning. I may start doing it for the mail as well. I get so many JUNK catalogs (junk in the sense of things I don't want and would never order) and they weigh a ton. Hopefully they'll fit in that smallish basket - unfortunately, it's too small for Pucci who wouldn't sit there anyway. He doesn't like enclosures of any type.

The not so good news is that the left leg laceration (The Grand Canyon) is infected again - after one week of being told "all clear". Don't know what it is - cultures were taken yesterday and I was placed on antibiotics again. Different salve to put on both legs. I'm :madd::hammer::madd:.

Mary Ann -- so sorry to hear that the wound is infected again. Hope the antibiotics work this time.

Oh, good grief, I thought we were past all that for that leg! It couldn't possibly have been completely healed last week if it's infected again this week. We'll double up on prayers!

Thank you Mary Ann fr asking. I still have numbness and burning nerves along the jaw and up to my ear. Doctor said it may never go away. Going for another CT scan end of November and then back to Cancer doctor at beginning of December. Sorry to hear about your leg infection hope it gets better quickly... Alf
