Futhermore, the above list of upgraded prices is either false or RCCL has recently changed its pierside upgrade policy (probably after receiving complaints from full-fare customers upset over other passengers receiving same level accomodations at drastically reduced prices. All upgrades at the pier with RCCL are full fare:

"Ms. Young, thank you for your e-mail. We appreciate this opportunity to respond.

Regarding your inquiry, if space is available on the day of sailing all staterooms are full fare at the pier. We suggest guests upgrade prior to sailing to avoid paying higher fares.

Thank you for choosing Royal Caribbean International.

I'm beginning to feel a bit bummed (I only travel in the peak season, and even Diamond + members report rare upgrades (and usually one category).

However there is a thread here somewhere that claims that one user got a free upgrade from a D1 balcony to an Owners Suite!!!
Thats exactly what happened to me.....we got the FREE upgrade from a D1 to OS on the MA last Sept..

We were upgraded from a D1 to an Owner's Suite in September.....but that took help from several other people. They are few and far between for us.

Not in all fields, but I have a feeling you have quite a few RCCL cruises under your belt......

Yes Roland: PH is right, I have very little influence on what happens at RCCL....as you know. You, on the other hand .......

I'm no longer going to really push for an upgrade....it created too much aggravation for me the last ime. If it happens, it happens....in the meantime, my D1 will work just fine.....unless they change rules on Concierge entitlement.

Heck,Im not giving up on my upgrades..no way,no how...........just wish they allowed upgrades on the shorter cruises(say 3 nighters)..........costs them less to upgrade.......whats the big deal.............One has to have 75+ cruises to upgrade on any less than 5 days.........STUPID!

Heck, maybe the upgrade fairy will visit us and my inlaws next month on the Sovereign...........I have heard rumors she's alive and well..............oh wait.thats only for people who are new to RCCL....

Do I sound bitter?????? NAH!

I am not planning on giving up any possible upgrade PH. I'm just saying that I don't want to go through the agonizing phone calls that I did the last time, where they gave me an upgrade, then ten minutes later took it away because they couldn't get in touch with the TA instantly to tell them it was OK. Totally frustrating!

I wonder what the reason is for not giving upgrades on 3 and 4 dayers?

I think the reason is that most people that took 3 and 4 dayers got to Diamond + too easily, so, they save the upgrades for people that got there with longer cruises:D Works for me Hee, Heee, Heeee.

Hi Paul, I see you lurking....how's it going? I think it's safe to post on here now.
