When it comes to new travel products, there never seems to be a shortage of offerings for people going on a road trip, camping, flying or staying in a hotel. But few are presented as handy gear for cruise travelers, perhaps because so much of the (unenlightened) travel world thinks of cruising as ‘not really traveling’. I can see their point; cruising does take a lot of the worry out of travel and makes seeing the world in comfort a pleasure. Still, there are a number of new travel products that work very well for cruise travelers too. Here are some we recently reviewed.
CloSYS Travel Kit
One of the points of going on vacation is to take a break from our normal routine. Cruise vacations make that easy, offering a cost effective way to leave it all behind. Still, some parts of our normal routine need to continue, like continuing to take doctor-prescribed medications. Dental health is another part of our normal routine that can also suffer when traveling. Those who use a waterpik for example, might skip that regimen when at sea. With that in mind, using a more effective approach to dental care when traveling is a good strategy.
CloSYS is a manufacturer of over the counter specialty (and pricey) dental products. CloSYS now offers a Trial Size Intro Kit that has better toothpaste, mouthwash and breath spray that one might use on a daily basis at home. All products contain Cloralstan, a patented ingredient naturally activated by the amino acids in saliva that kills 99.9% of bacteria in 10 seconds and prevents their re-growth to protect the body from health issues.
Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus
Not a new product, Downy Wrinkle Releaser has been around for quite some time. Product use is simple; unfold carefully packed clothes, spray well with Downy Wrinkle Releaser, stretch in all directions and (in the past) many wrinkles would disappear.
New Downy Wrinkly Releaser Plus does that better and also does double duty as a stateroom air freshener and has over 100 uses around the house too. We used it to remove creases from pillowcases, bed sheets, drapery, fabrics, tablecloths, napkins; pretty much anything we tried it on. We like products with multiple uses because they cut down on packing too.
Bheestie
I’ll never forget a day at sea when our family was at the pool on a cruise. We all watched as my brother, a former competitive swimmer, made a beautiful dive into the pool then came out looking shocked. “You’ll never believe what I just did” he said, removing his now-soaked iPhone from the pocket of his swim trunks. Once thought to be the kiss of death for a traveler’s smartphone, tablet or other electronic device there is a new product that can help in a water emergency.
Invented by a mom who was tired of replacing her son’s expensive tech gear,Bheestie is a unique accessory that can save pricey tech gadgets in a water emergency. Better than putting a soaked device in a bag of rice to absorb water, Bheestie uses special beads to specifically target and trap water molecules.
Bonus Feature:
Have you ever walked out onto the balcony of a cruise ship with your camera to find that the lens quickly fogs up, making taking a photo nearly impossible for a while? A camera stored in a bag with Bheestie in it won’t do that.
