David Tollmann’s works captivate with their distinctiveness, expressiveness, strength and colourfulness. Radiant luminosity and abstract formal language stand for his art. Charles Fazzino is a trendy pop artist from New York City who is known for his colourful and glittering 3D constructions. His works can be found in the private collections of celebrities such as Bill and Hillary Clinton and George Bush. For many years, the artist has themed public events such as the Olympics or the American Super Bowl, and on 31 December 2022, he designed the illuminated facade of Nasdaq in New York’s Times Square. Charles Fazzino and his artworks can be admired and purchased on the voyage through the Orient with AIDAcosma from April 7 to 14, 2023. Another opportunity to experience him and his works is on the voyage “Mediterranean Treasures from Mallorca” with AIDAcosma from October 7 to 14, 2023.

Vibrantly painted figures with strong colours and striking outlines are typical of the American artist Ed Heck. A portion of charm, irony and everyday comedy can be discovered in each of the works. Singing, Swinging, Rocking Pop Art by Ed Heck has become a trademark for many years, not only in the USA but also in Germany and Europe. Under the motto “The World of Ed Heck”, he develops his art from his passion for music and for wildlife. Ed Heck will be cruising the Orient aboard AIDAcosma from February 3 to 10, 2023 and will also be travelling with guests through the Mediterranean from September 30 to October 7, 2023.

Icons of film and contemporary history of the 50s and 60s determine the motifs of Devin Miles, the pioneer of the new Modern Pop Art in Germany. In his works, the beauties of the glittering world such as Marylin Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Romy Schneider, heroes such as James Dean or Sean Connery and symbols of this time of global awakening merge into unique collages. Political events and historical references also flow into his work. In this way, Devin Miles builds an artistic bridge from the past to the present. Viking Adding New Seine River Ship for 2025

Viking® has announced it will welcome a new Viking Longship®, purpose-built for the Seine River, to its fleet in 2025. Sailing the company’s popular eight-day Paris and the Heart of Normandy itinerary, the new sister ship will join four Viking Longships that were officially named in 2022,the Viking Fjorgyn®, the Viking Kari®, the Viking Radgrid® and the Viking Skaga®. All five ships are designed specifically to navigate the Seine River and bring guests to the heart of Paris, just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower.

Those new to cruise vacations are often impressed by the extraordinary value they find on board any ship of any cruise line. That initial comparison to other modes of travel experienced in the past is easy to make. On land, they pay for transportation from place to place, accommodations at each destination as well as dining, entertainment and more.

Your Best Cruise Value

At sea or on a river, much of that is included and they like it. But it does not take long after that first cruise for the first-timer to become an armchair expert, charged with finding the best deal on the next cruise. In a way, it’s the down side of the intense experience a cruise vacation provides, and one that savvy cruise travelers move beyond in a hurry, focusing on the bigger picture.

When travelers buy into the experience being provided by the cruise line, from start to finish, they come back a bit different, changed, refreshed or any number of positive outcomes. As Princess Cruises puts it so aptly, they “come back new”. They like that feeling and want to do it again. They might be on a short, inexpensive weekend cruise, priced at just a few $hundred. They might be on a long, luxury sailing priced more than a new car. I guarantee you that no cruise line is going to call and tell you that a lower price or better value is available via a new promotion, offer or special pricing. It absolutely will not happen. The primary responsibility for insuring the best value rests with us, the traveler. Still, having a travel professional on our side, one who is responsive to our phone calls, emails or texts, is critical.

Seabourn Pursuit Offering Seven New Itineraries

Seabourn, is making a splash with its second purpose-built expedition vessel Seabourn Pursuit, which will enter service on August 12, 2023 with a series of seven new pre-inaugural sailings to the Mediterranean, Transatlantic and Caribbean.

Seven New Itineraries

Brothers Named Co-Captains Of Celebrity Ascent

In an industry first, Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo announced today that Greek brothers Dimitrios and Tasos Kafetzis have been named co-captains of Celebrity Ascent^SM, the company’s fourth ship in its industry-transforming Edge Series^Ⓡ, debuting winter 2023.

The accomplished maritime brothers will usher in a new era for the cruise line, taking the helm of the brand’s newest resort at sea, which has been brought to life by a team of modern lifestyle icons including multi-award-winning British designer Kelly Hoppen CBE; celebrated American designer Nate Berkus and Michelin starred chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud.

Captain Dimitrios has dedicated his entire maritime career, spanning more than three decades, to Celebrity Cruises, having started as an Apprentice Officer onboard Celebrity’s very first vessel, the Horizon, in 1990. Today, he reaches the very pinnacle of the industry, being named take-out captain of this trailblazing ship. Born in Piraeus, port of Athens, Greece, Captain Dimitrios graduated from the Merchant Maritime Academy of Syros-Athens at the top of his class, and has held his Master’s license since 2001. He has sailed aboard every different class of ship in Celebrity’s fleet, and was also part of the start up teams for Celebrity MillenniumⓇ, Celebrity InfinityⓇ, Celebrity SilhouetteⓇ and Celebrity ApexⓇ, the latter of which he was also the take out Captain.

Captain Tasos grew up watching his older brother Dimitrios making a career on cruise ships, and realized he wanted to follow in his footsteps. After also graduating from the Merchant Marine College, he joined Celebrity Cruises in 1998, and over his more than 20-year career with the brand, has been involved in the opening of Celebrity Summit^Ⓡ, Celebrity Solstice^Ⓡ, Celebrity Equinox^Ⓡ and Celebrity Reflection^Ⓡ. Most recently, he has served as captain of Celebrity Edge^Ⓡ^, the very first of Celebrity’s award-winning Edge Series^Ⓡ, which launched in 2018.

The brothers will alternate their time on Celebrity Ascent in a three-months on-and-off rotation.

Today, UnCruise Adventures announced updated vaccination guidelines that now allow guests to cruise regardless of vaccination status. Following previous years of successful vaccination requirements, the new no vax guidelines go into effect April 7^th, 2023, for all future sailings. Given the significant and positive progress in public health and in line with global travel organizations, the small ship cruise line protocols will no longer require vaccination, boosters, pre-testing or onboard masking.

The cruise line will continue its focus on thorough and effective onboard health and well being guidelines. These include sanitation guidelines overseen by the cruise lines safety officers for guests and crew along with onboard awareness for any contagious illness.

Key points for the updated vaccine, mask, and testing guidelines onboard UnCruise Adventures:

Suspension of vaccination booking policy goes into effect April 7th, 2023.Applicable to all destinations and itineraries.

The cruise line will longer be operating at limited capacity.

Guests sailing on any 7,10,12- or 14-night adventures will no longer need to provide proof of vaccination, booster, or pre-testing to sail on any of the cruise lines ten itineraries.

Robust onboard health and wellbeing policies, including enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures remain in place. Ongoing guidelines reflect the cruise lines dedication to a safe environment for all guests and crew.

Onboard testing will no longer be provided by the cruise line or required to pre-board. Any positive tests reported onboard may require individuals to isolate in their cabin up to 5 days or depart the vessel in line with medical authority recommendations.
