Good question Denise. We have a open reservation at the Sandman Suites for 1 night at $130 a night but it can be cancelled. We are also tempted to do the Priceline bidding and that may be the way we go as we will only be there 1 night also. The Blue Horizon certainly does look decent and get good reviews on Trip Advisor. We are now in finalization mode for our 2 nights in Victoria and hope to have that locked up by the weekend. :boogie:

Maw we fly home from Seattle. I decided to go ahead and book the Blue Horizon for the precruise portion of the cruise. Hope you all can join us. Since we don't get to VC till well after 8pm it will just be a place to sleep for the night...good reviews and it looks close to the pier. Now to start looking at Seattle for the return. Probably will stay hear the airport since we have an early morning flight.

You know, I thought you got in early than me from a previous conversation but I thought I was mistaken...well, we do go home about the same time  Nice that you all will be able to take a much earlier shuttle. The 12:30 p.m. shuttle will give you 2 hours to gather your luggage...or there is the 2:30 shuttle if you want a bit longer to gather your things and get a bit to eat. With as late as we get in we wont see you to the a.m. it looks like :(

E I am a bit confused...are you staying at the Sandman the night before the cruise or the first day your arrive pre-cruise and is your Victoria vist pre or post cruise?

Nieciez ... We are currently thinking about a 2 night pre cruise stay in Victoria and then ferry over to Vancouver on Fri. the 25th for some sightseeing in Vancouver. We have a hold on a room at Sandman Suites but are still up in the air as to our final landing spot for Fri. 5/25. Like U we are just in search of a sleeping spot as we will be out sightseeing for most of the day and only need a comfortable bed. For this reason alone we are thinking that if we see a 4* open up on Priceline or Hotwire prior to our departure at a bargain price we may opt for that option but time will tell. Thanx for the reminder on the shuttles as I need to get some info for the return shuttle from Vancouver to Seattle on Sat. 6/9 from Princess.

Can we book transfers with Princess? For some reason I thought we only could if we booked air with them....

Yes, coming in on the 25th is going to be so short that there will be no time for us all to meet up...but we will have plenty of time on the cruise to make up for it :sunny: Now my dilemma is post-cruise. Since we have an early flight (7am) on the 10th my gut tells me to book a airport hotel location. But, if we arrive in Seattle around 2-3pm from VC...would we want to "do" something downtown....decisions, decisions.

I am going to touch base with Princess today on the transfer info Nieciez so when I get the info I will post it here. Quick Coach is also available and receives good comments in case Princess does NOT offer anything but right now their service schedule only goes out to May 6th. Just for info here is a link to the Princess site for Vancouver Info if anyone is interested.

maw and Nieciez ... just got off the phone with Princess. They do indeed offer a Princess transfer via bus from Vancouver to Seattle on 6/9. :boogie: According to the rep they also will be able to handle the scooters for transit. The only catch is that you will have to go to the airport and then get transportation to your hotel for the evening. The only exception would be if you bought the hotel package at the Double Tree which is the hotel they use for Pre & Post cruise. So assuming U do wish to use the transfer thru Princess a hotel in the airport area would be your BEST bet. :sunny:

I also was given an email address that BOTH of U may wish to contact in regards to handicap setup for your cabin as well as any transfers or excursions thru Princess. The email is accessoffice@princess.com and you should drop them an email and give them your telephone number in the email so they can directly speak with U. This extension of Princess worx directly with handicap paxs to make sure that any special request U may have are addressed in regards to your cabins and transfers and excursions U have with Prin
cess. The booking of the Princess Bus Transfer has to be done thru Skyscraper so U will need to get in contact with them to set up the post cruise bus transfer. My email is already on the way to them. :boogie: Hope this info helps U out.

OK, Change of plans for me. I am going with Lori handling the hotel & transfers as it is much cheaper than doing it on own and Lori is handling it all. Over-all it seems to save me about $150. based on Quick shuttle price and the hotel pricing I got on my own. Here is her reply on pricing:Princess does not offer a Seattle Hotel with transfer for pre-cruise.The transfer from the Seattle Airport to the Vancouver Pier is $98 for 2 people. So, you would go to the Seattle Airport to pick up this transfer. There is a great deal on the Doubletree by Hilton Seattle Airport that I can book for you $95 total for 2 people including hotel taxes. They have a shuttle that you can use. Take the hotel shuttle from airport to hotel on 5/25/12. Then take the hotel shuttle back to the airport on 5/26/12 to pick up the Princess shuttle to Vancouver.and for the return her email:This will be the reverse of what I said in the earlier email :) On 6/9/12, take the Princess shuttle from Vancouver to Seattle Airport for $98 for 2 people. Then use the Doubletree shuttle on 6/9/12 to get to the hotel $103.50 for 2 people one night including hotel taxesThen on 6/10/12 use the hotel shuttle to the Seattle Airport.

In a nutshell maw ... If U wish to use the Princess transfer on the day we get back into Vancouver to go to the Seattle airport U can do so by requesting thru Skyscraper that they add that transfer to your cruise reservation for the 2nd half of the Back to Back.

The secondary item in regards to contacting Princess thru email at
accessoffice@princess.com was to supply them your phone number so they could speak with U directly and make sure that they had everything setup in your cabin as well as any special transportation necessary for a transfer or shore excursion U might book directly with Princess.

Hope this helps a bit. U know Cuz E's phone # if I can help U out anymore via Ma Bell.

OK I am miss calculated a bit but it still is a savings to book with Lori. I am going to book the return on 6/9 at this time but I am still weighting my options for the 5/25 hotel - 5/26 Princess shuttle to VC....my thought is I think I'd rather get to VC on the 25th even if it is late in the evening vs the 3-4 hour trip the day of the cruise. What are your thoughts on that E? Maw, I think you should go all the way to VC on the 25th since you get into Seattle so early...JMHO

After "sleeping on it" overnight I've decided to get all our traveling out of the way on one day. We will fly into Seattle on the 25th and go immediately to Vancouver. Long tiring day but we will have 14 days aboard the ship to get over it LOL.

Okay I would really like to get on to Vancouver as we get into Seattle so early on the 25th. Then on 9th go to Seattle as our plane on 10 leaves at 7:00. I will read this all again and try to get the proper reservations made. I will call Lori to help make right arrangements for Daw and us when I get it all figured out.

maw

okay lets see if I have this straight-on the 25th I can take Princess shuttle toVancouver and stay at the Blue Horizon or other one mentioned=then on 9th take Princess shuttle to Seattle stay at Doubletree and take their shuttle to airport on 10th. I am to call Lori to make the Princess arrangements. She can arrange DFaw's transfers too.
