Been doing some MORE research for Pre Cruise options now that we are under a year. Each attempt points me more toward some time spent in Victoria and a visit here.

Again, beautiful photos

In these days of summer heat I will continue to gaze at them and feel the coolness from those glaciers. :boogie: With each passing week and a bit MORE research I realize more and more what a Special Cruise this will be with the multiple glacier viewing options. The BEST part is those glacier viewing days are like FREE excursions in that all U have to do is find a nice seat with a view and watch mother nature in action.

And yet, it took you (and many) awhile to be convinced to try beautiful Alaska instead of the Caribbean. Glad to see you were converted!

Converted??? Not sure if I would use that word as I always knew that cruising to Alaska would be something we would do but just was NOT sure when. In being truthful there is still a HUGE tugging at the heart for the caribbean and those white sands, turquoise waters, and palm trees. Our return to Alaska so quickly is essentially for a few simple reasons.

One being that our last experience was a rather damp one  and we hope to encounter drier conditions this time around. Realizing that Mother Nature still has control over that we just went with the recommendations from MANY that drier weather might very well persist earlier in the cruising season.

Second reason being that we realized that only getting views of Mendenhall Glacier & Sawyer Glacier in Tracy Arm were not enough in the glacier viewing experience for us. With visits to Glacier Bay, College Fjord, and Hubbard Glacier that Princess offers that will undoubtedly satisfy the lack of glacier viewing opportunities this time around and right from a railing or deck chair on the ship. :boogie:

Three being that we wanted to offer what I consider the best opportunity available at the best price to any @ddicts in the NW sections North America. BY BEST option available the thoughts were to offer shorter itineraries with good pricing that allowed for options to combine land/sea combo as well as a Pre Cruise Experience in the Vancouver/Victoria area that would open the options up to as MANY C@'s as possible. With this "Voyage of the Glaciers Cruise" IMO I believe we have done just that but of course that's just my opinion.

Once we have completed "The Voyage of the Glaciers Cruise" all the above reasons will be satisfied and a return to Alaska while it will happen it will NOT be for quite a few years probably. Simple reasons being that there are too MANY Bucket List Cruises on the horizon and not enough years to do ALL of them. The Can/NE cruise will satisfy another Bucket List Cruise and the Venice/TA will satisfy another. Add into the mix "The BIG Easy Cruise" in March 2013 and those will be 3 cruises that can be nixed off the Bucket List. Of course there are still too MANY that follow so cruising in retirement should be FUN.
:eek:k:

Plenty of planning time my dear as the major planning will begin after we return from your mom & dads Bucket Cruise in Oct. :boogie: We have been to most of the ports and already have a good idea of the MUST things to do. Such as Juneau is a must for Whale Watching and if the weather permits a trip up the Mt. Roberts tram. Perhaps might even be able to sneak in a visit to the Red Dog Saloon this time for paw. :cheer:
