This is great news. I can only imagine what bills and feathers Mama Duck pulled for you guys. I feel sorry for those that booked without a TA...

Thank YOU.

I just hope everyone will be happy - as I mentioned previously, moving a group is infinitely more difficult than moving an individual cabin.

I can't even imagine the logistics of moving all of us to another date! Many thanks for all your hard work!!!!! While I understand it's part of the job, I would be willing to bet that many travel agents would have told us "Sorry, it's cancelled, and you'll have to deal with it". Not our Mama Duck, the best quacker of all!!!

Thank you. I appreciate your kind words.

The moveover IS complete - everybody got their same cabins or perhaps one or two away at most. We're adding the amenities now.

I should have new confirmations to send out Friday or Saturday.

Yes, this HAS been a challenge for everyone involved.

Thank you all for your patience.

The ones who got jostled the most are the ones who had booked deluxe verandah suites.
At any rate, I'm checking the new bookings versus the original bookings. There IS lots of work involved. :hammer: This is one, tired duck.

I believe it's time for one very tired Mama Duck to head for bed and some well deserved rest. We worry about you, and besides, I'm sure Pucci thiks it's time for bed!

I started sending out the new confirmations and noticed that some - not all - showed a deposit due. That is incorrect - no deposits are due on any bookings. So I just got through re-checking each booking with HAL.

When you receive your confirmation from me, please check that nitty-gritty such as dining assignments and bed configurations are to your liking, and let me know if any changes need to be made. Thank you.

I'm delighted to report that ALL those who booked July 13th were able to arrange their schedules to sail on our moveover date of June 29th. My thanks to all the Ducks and DITS for their understanding. My thanks also to HAL who accommodated us very quickly - it is NOT a simple matter to move a group!

And just think - we quickly lopped two weeks off our countdown!

Many thanks to you, ShipMaven. All I had to do was sit and wait, knowing this was in very capable hands!

I moved my hotel reservations with no hassle and at the same price. Thank you again for the recommendation.

I am so happy with the outcome of this for you all. You will love these ports. Sitka is my fav port of all to sail into. The Eagle rehab there is amazing. No cages to speak of.. they just captured part of the rain forest for these magnificent birds. Stunning.

I cant wait for pics of Icy Strait Point. I have only been there once, on our first cruise to Alaska. Not much there then, but that was part of the charm. I am pretty sure I have heard that it has been developed more in the years since we were there. Interesting museum on the water front. Good food at the cafe on the water. Tender spot, if I remember.

Kodiak is another amazing place to sail in to, lovely. We had to walk into town, but there might be a shuttle there now. Some interesting museums in town, but not much else. The townspeople had a craft show while we were there, and I am sure they will add to things as they change and evolve.

Homer was a fun place. There are two separate parts to Homer... the town itself, and the shops on the waterfront. We did both, shopping all the stores and enjoyed a winery/beer tour in town.

Anchorage was lots of fun. We were with Calgon and Sunflower, and as Calgon had grown up there, he took us on a tour of his old stomping grounds. We then drove to a wild animal sanctuary at the end of Turnagain Arm, and that was a stunning drive. On the beach at one stop, we found a cell phone and picked it up, with intentions of finding the owner. The owner's uncle called it, and we were able to arrange a meeting spot to turn it over to her. Turns out she was a professor at a college not far from John and Pat in their home state of Michigan! Ha, they could have taken it home and she still would have had it returned to her.

You will love every new stop on this amazing cruise. My favorite ship, hands down. With my fav Ladies room on any ship ever, on the main floor. Floor to ceiling windows, I never wanted to leave.
