Crazy government employees....don't you guys have anything better to do???:)P)

George - we'll have to pass on breakfast because we'll be getting in later in the morning. By the time we get our car it will be lunch time. We've got running around to do that day....Cris-Dee's, Publix, Bealls, ABC...but we plan on getting over to the Radisson as soon as we can the next day so we can have some pool time as soon as they let us check in. Is that what the rest of you are thinking for Saturday?

I'd love a 9 or 10 day carribean cruise next year - maybe we should start looking for that and delay Alaska by a year? I'd be fine with that.

Yes Tommy, Regina, where the heck are you guys hiding?

Sheree

Sheree, you have lots of prayer and well wishes coming your way from THE SUNSHINE STATE, not that you need them . They would be lucky to get you in that position.

Jim, how are the vw's coming along.....Are you going to funk one up like the 70"s?

Dan, how is Courtney feeling so close the birth? Are you going to be in the delivery room?

George, Anne, Regina Tommy, Barbara, I hope you are all doing well.....

Have a good evening.

OK do not faint!
George, yes we are alive and thanks for calling and checking on us.
Just been so darn busy these days as I have acquired a new category at work along with the one I already had. You guys will like it more than the women. I am now the alcohol buyer. No matter whether you wear it or drink it I know take care of it. Has been keeping working late as I already had such a busy schedule for the first few months of the year as we are expanding our shops in the Sanford airport.

Sheree check on flights in to Orlando Sanford international airport. Allegiant (not sure how to spell) flies in to here from a few secondary airports. There maybe a secondary one near you. I know that the flights are much cheaper and if you can get one it is really not that far away. Only about 35 miles from the Orlando airport. I know that they have flights from Chicago/Rockford or something like that but cant remember about Ohio. Are you near Canton as I think it may be that airport that it flies in from. It is a easy in and out airport and not a busy domestic terminal at all. You would really save a lot of time and you could come see me at work. :)

Jim you seriously need counseling. GET HELP MAN!

Dan bet you are getting excited. Better call in sick now and rest as you are going to never sleep again for a year: :)

Hey o town girls.

I think Tom paid off the cruise with the tax return so now I have to dog sit for shopping money. :( I deserve jewelry this year as much as I have worked so far this month.

Okay that is all I have time for got to get back to work. Bringing home many many reports to complete almost every night but maybe I will get rewarded some day.

Hi all! Regina, so glad to see you post! You are right, all Big Cats now envy you, since you are in charge of the booze! And you are right, Allegiant flies out of Akron/Canton up here. But, I already have my airfare because of using frequent flyer miles, so I am already set for the cruise. Thanks for thinking of me though. I was supposed to fly into Sanford a few years back, because my old company had a location in the Lake Mary area. I was all excited about it at the time, but then my trip got canceled and I was bummed out.

We've got a little snow on the ground this morning. I am getting sick up this stuff and it can really warm up anytime now. I think we've got about 2 or 3 inches on the ground.

Hope everyone is doing well. Sheree

Good morning all,

For those of you who still interested, I wanted to bring up the topic of the Alaska 2009(?) cruise. I know we are still 1 1/2 years out, but based on projected cost and the fact that none of us have prior knowledge/experience with this cruise, exploring this far out is not so far fetched. I received a few emails from Michelle / Stan (our favorite southerners) about there interest in coming along as well. They have considerable insight for ideas being that they did Alaska last year. I know many of us have been discussing the all inclusive cruise+land tour type cruise directly through the cruise line. Obviously we all have also seen the prices floating around for going this route, to which Denise posted about as well. Michelle / Stan opted, and quite successfully I will add, to do the cruise and then plan their own land tours that included great excusions / rental cars + scenic road trips / and hotel stays. From the photos and emails, they obviously had a great time. So good they would like to do it again. The manner in which they went about their experience was considerably cheaper than what we would pay through the cruise lines and probably far more enjoyable in our small group setting, rather than the herding of cattle effect we would experience through the cruise lines. Obviously this is just one idea (albeit a good one) and we (Anne & I) are open to even just a 7-day (one way my preference) cruise or longer idea as well. There are many 10-14 day cruises only, that don't encompass the expense of the land tours. There is nothing up for 9/09 as of yet, but the 9/08 prices are quite good for such long cruises. Anne has a preference for this method simply because she prefers the long cruise ship experience/ambience over additional days in hotels. I guess the other advantage to this method is meals / lodging/transportation /additional ports are all included, something we would have to deal with should we strike out on our own. She also prefers to unpack/pack one time. With that stated while that is her preference, she will do whatever the group decides to do (and after 18 years of marriage, I'll just follow her). So there are just a few ideas and certainly just a means for getting a dialogue started. I don't think this is a cruise we want to put off discussion until after the next cruise...simply because of the expense and no prior experiences.

I now return you to your regular scheduled program....Big Cats Prowl the Mariner...the Sequel 9/14/08

Hey Guys,

Regina glad to hear you are alive and kicking and most probably drunk.....lol

George, I agree it is imperative to start looking into Alaska 1 to 2 years in advance. I would love to see the photos and info Michelle sent you, can you share???? Please

Dan, you better start saving up vacation time mister, you are going to need it over the next 18 years...lol

Sheree, I spoke to my friend in NY and they had 6" to 8" of snow this morning. I hate the heat but driving in that kind of snow I would hate more......lol

Dee and I are in the process of downsizing and relocating the store to a smaller studio space right here in our same complex. I will fill you all in on the details once this move is over. Keep us in your prayers, we are having a huge sale this weekend...

ciao for now!!!!!
Have a fab weekend everyone.

Cris, did you say SALE??????? Suddenly I can't think about cruising, I can only think about pretty CrisDee bags!!!! Good luck wiht the move...now where exactly is this new space at relative to the current location?

George - Michelle was kind enough to forward information to me, too. She's so nice to do that since we've never met. We really need to start looking into Alaska, and get an idea of who is on board for doing this and whether or not everyone can swing it in '09 or if we need to hang on until '10. Michelle had some great suggestions on how they arranged everything on their own and got some great deals. I think if we break it up the way she did and research each element of what we want to do, we certainly can get some great deals like she did. I think we should look at doing things the way she did, and also look at doing a cruise for 10+ days without the land package. I would like to find out more on the San Francisco RT cruise, too.

What does everyone think? Can we have a show of hands to see who wants to do Alaska in '09? How about '10?

Regina - how does this booze buying work? I mean, unlike perfumes and cosmetics where there are good ones and bad ones, how do you decide on booze? And do you personally get to benefit from this?

Oh, and Cris, you mentioned driving in the snow. It's not a bad thing when you are used to it, and it all depends on how quickly the snow falls and if they salt the roads. Here, the road crews are pretty good. Quite often, when there is a decent storm on the way, I wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of a snow plow going by and dropping salf. This morning there were just a couple of inches, and it didn't even slow down the commute. Now for the Valentine's Day storm last year, the snow was falling so fast that the plows couldn't even come close to keeping up wiith it. And you guys remember my pictures from that, right? We've had nothing like that since.

And regarding the interview, I don't know who else is interviewing. I've tried not to find this stuff out so I can just focus on doing the best I can, because if they are better candidates than me, there's really nothing that I can do about that. I don't think I told you guys about who I am interviewing with. Here it is: the hospital president, VP of Nursing, CFO, COO, and Medical Director (a doctor). No....not intimidating at all!

And I do need to share Greg's news. Sit down Tommy. Someone rear-ended Greg and hit the back end of his Jeep! He was on the street next to the airport, and some guy who works at NASA rammed right into the back of his Jeep. Greg's a little ticked. The insurance companies have been great so far with the communication, so we'll see if they are as good as this going forward. He's fine, and the guy who hit him is fine. Not a great start to the weekend though!

That's it for now. I think I've posted enough for the day! Sheree

Cris, after being dragged through the largest mall in the state today...forgive me if I don't mention this to Anne ;D

Glad to hear Jeep and Greg are recovering and doing well.

Our preference would be to do Alaska, but we will do what everyone wants to do. I for one would like to know where everyone stands? If it is Alaska, I want to start researching sooner, rather than later.

Good afternoon all,

During lunch I was thumbing through a Princess Alaska brouchure and was quite surprised that the cheapest time to sail Alaska is not Sept., it's May. Is anyone insterested in pushing cruise up in 2009 (if Alaska is everyones choice) if the savings turns out to be substantial?
