So i't's CocoCay that we are going to then, right?

Is anyone into the zip line, or parasailing? I've always wanted to try parasailing, but I am too chicken!

We've been to both islands and I love them both. I just need a lounge chair, some suntanning lotion, and a cold beverage and I am happy.

It's warming up here now....we're in the 50's for the next few days and a nice weekend is in the forecast, so I am happy.

Off to work. Let's try to keep this posting rate up - it's so nice to come to the boards and have something to read.

Is that what you two were drinking...I swore that was Cococay that had the straw market we met you outside of?

Sheree, I've done para-sailing, I would love to do the zip-line, but Anne would never in a million years try it. Are you game...what about you Jim, Tommy?

Looks like I will be on this sailing. I haven't changed my countdown clock as I haven't officially changed the booking. I need to start reading the posts to see what I have gotten myself into :D

It's official I have changed to a js on deck 7 for this sailing. Has anyone had a aft js? I know it says obstructed but is it that bad? I don't need a balcony that is in the sun but was wondering if there was any view at all?

I got the jr. suite because there might be 4 of us but if the other 2 don't come then I will change to a regular balcony cabin.

Welcome aboard ewheelock,

Have no fear, we are harmless...most of the ti,e :D The Big Cats originated in 2003 and we have been sailing together ever since. For various reasons there are fewer of us this year and any additions are always welcom. If you don't mind me asking, what made you push the cruise back a month? As far as cabins, I'm pretty sure we all have aft cabins this year. Did the same last year on the Liberty and had a great time. I have never had a suite on RCCL, so unfortunately I have no advice to give. Then again, any cabin is good as long as your on a cruise. Please do share some info on you and your party. I am George, sailing with my wife Anne and our Daughter Arrielle. We reside in Phoenix and have cruised 12 times previously. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome ewheelock,
We have all been on the Mariner before and it is a nice ship. We always have a good time no matter what we are doing. I have not booked a JS so I can`t tell you what it is like. We always book a balcony ...once you book a balcony you won`t book an inside or a ocean view.
I am Jim ,I cruise with my kids and there Mom and my grandson We are from Florida and this will be my 10th cruise.

My name is Ellen from the Atlanta, Ga. area. I am 52 and cruising with my dh's cousin Sharon. We might have 2 more people going but that is up in the air and I don't know them anyway! I have been on 4 cruises on 4 different lines Premier (The Big Red Boat), HAL Zaandam, RCI Legend OTS and Caribbean Princess.

I hope you don't mind me busting in on your thread.

Hi Ellen - thanks for posting! Please keep posting with us. We're a fun bunch. Well, except for George. We tolerate him though. :loveya

I am cruising with my husband Greg- we're outside of Cleveland. I'm 41 and he's 42.

We are big fans of aft cabins. This is our third aft, and it's the type of cabin that we'll always try to get from now on. I think our last aft on the Mariner was either 8690 or 8390. Either way, it was on the back corner on the 8th deck, and after that cabin, we were sold! If they labeled your JS as obstructed, it's either because of a random structural post on the cabin, or it's because you can't look straight down and see the water because of a crew area below. If you haven't discovered the webshots site by Bonnievoyager, it's a great way to preview your cabin. Let me know if you need a link. I believe she's a member here, but she has compiled a great website with cabin shots. Anyway - Welcome! And please feel free to post with us as often as you want!

George - I think I am too chicken to do the zip line. I don't know if Greg would do it or not. If I remember, it's kind of expensive for a quick thrill! I think I'll do the easy thing and just have a margarita or three.

Ooops - just re-read my previous post and I meant to say "random structural pole on the balcony" not the cabin.

Yes, George, I guess I lucked out. That's on my list of things to do someday, but I'd have to get my nerve up.

Does anyone have any good weekend plans? Greg works Saturday, so I'll be having a fun day around the house and going for manicure and pedicure. Sunday we're going to brunch with the inlaws. Beyond that, nothing too exciting.

random structural post [b said:
in[/b] the cabin]

Sheree, I have never seen one of these cabins, exactly what would someone need a pole in their cabin for :D

Jim, it looks like Cococay has diving, certainly an idea and pretty cheap.

Good morning all. TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to ask my TA to keep a look out (and I am too!) for a aft jr suite on deck 9 or 10. I did find the web site with all of the aft pictures and I know that even with the structure somewhat in the way I will love the aft cabin.

Hey all!!! Hi Ellen! I cruised with the BigCats 1 time, but I still try to keep in touch with them!

I have done para-sailing once a LONG time ago when I was a kid! It was scary at first, but then I liked it!

TGIF to all!!!! I have 10 more days off work and then on Monday the 14th, is D-DAY!!! I go back to work after being off for 6 weeks!!!! ARG!!!!

I'm sorry - I thought everyone had a random structural pole in their cabin, but then I realized, Greg packs a Ronco travel-size Pole-to-Go so that we don't miss out on our favorite at home activity while cruising! =lolgang
