George - how long ago did you see the credit? Was it on your most recent statement, or has it been a few weeks?

Jim - the VW bus thing must be addictive if Bubba now wants one too. I loved driving a stick when I was younger. My brother taught me when I was 18 or 19 - then I couldn't wait to get my first car with a stick. I stil lthink that certain cars should always be stick. Before the car I have now, I had a Celica and it was so cute and sporty. I loved the sportscar feeling with the stick. Now, this might sound crazy, if I am wrong, but do all VW sticks have clutches? I remember my friend in HS driving an old Bug and she didn't have to put in the clutch to shift gears. Is that the way old VW's worked?

Oh - no job news yet. I looked at the calendar yesterday. My first interview was at the end of January. My second was at the end of February. Now it's April 1st, and no news for me or anyone else yet. (I was trying to find out from a few other directors that I know at the other hospitals, and they actually asked me because they hadn't heard anything!)

Off to work. Have a good one kitties!

Jim, "honey do my a** ", after 20 years, I recognize a "you may be off today, but your going to pay" list! :D

Sheree, I seen the rumors and RCCL site and figured I would check online. It's only been in the last couple of weeks this has been going on.

I'm sure this is not the intentions of your employer, but what a cost saving measure having you perform dual roles while they make a decision.

By the way....

I've been reading many posts about RCCL is really starting to crack down on smuggling. I'm not sure if those reporting these findings are people who have an axe to grind and despise those of us who partake in byob. Needless to say I'm still going to bring beer and a few other things in my checked luggage. If they take it, they take it. I have done this for many years and have yet to have a problem. Any thoughts?

Found this on the community board regarding passports....

Quote:
FINAL Passport Rule Issued for Land and Sea Borders
Yesterday, the Departments of Homeland Security and of State issued the final rulemaking concerning the requirements of passports for land and sea border crossings under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. After years of development following 9/11, this ruling is the end of the process and can be considered FINAL when helping your clients ensure they have the proper identification when traveling.

Effective June 1, 2009, the following rules take effect for cruise passengers:

U.S. citizens on cruise voyages that begin and end at the same U.S. port (closed-loop itineraries) must show proof of citizenship* and government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license). A passport will not be required for passengers that fall into this category.

*Documents include: Original or certified copy of birth certificate; Naturalization papers; Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by Department of State

All other passengers and/or itineraries (such as cruises which begin in one U.S. port and return to a different U.S. port or any cruise that begins or ends in a foreign port) will require a passport or other recognized document. For a list of accepted documents, see www.travel.state.gov.

The good news for a majority of cruise passengers – American citizens that leave and return on their cruise from the same U.S. port – is that the travel document requirements will remain largely unchanged from how the industry is operating today.

CLIA continues to encourage travelers to obtain passports to allow the broadest travel opportunities. Your clients can visit www.travel.state.gov to obtain information on how to apply at more than 9,000 passport acceptance facilities in the United States.

Wow, someone's been busy posting today!

I know George, what a cost saving measure. I told one of the other directors today who was teasing me over all the terminations that I've been doing that I am quite the bargain, and the hatchet chick. Then I asked him what else I had to do to prove myself.....he just laughed. If I do get the job, eventually, I'd like them to waive my 90 day probationary period, because I should be at the end of it pretty soon.

Oh - I will continue to smuggle booze and mixers, and carry on diet coke and water in plain view.

George - is your cruise paid off? I am wondering if I will see a credit on my statement, or if it will just be applied to my balance due. Either way it's nice to get it back.

Ok....need to go check on my homemade cookies that are in the oven. Yummy.....that's one good thing about living in the cold temps....it's not too hot to heat up the oven for a batch of cookies. Now let me go think of another good reason.......can't do it.

Wow George I wish I could sit and surf the internet all day and find this stuff... JK
we all have our passports just in case.

Sheree,
most VWs are a stick with a clutch... I had a bug like your friends ...it was an auto that you had to shift..but most are not like that,
all the busses we have have a clutch and you have to shift them. Some came with a full auto trans but I am told that they were not so good.

We need to get this board moving we have to beat last years posts

Yes, we are paid off. Maybe that's when you recieve the credit or possibly it will come off at your time of final payment =huh

Shift just changed this Monday. Now I'm off Sunday's and Mondays. I know, today is Tuesday...but being that my regular day off fell on a paid holiday, they had to give me an alternate holiday. It's not easy being me :D

This is sad, I'm to lazy to look them up, what ports are we going to again? I seem to recall St. Thomas, Labadee, St. Marten =huh

Yes Jim, we are way behind, must be nice to sit around and play with bugs all day :D Now get posting!

Tommy / Regina / Cris / Dee / Barb...where are you!

I saaaaaiiiidddd...weren't we in Cococay last year?

Just got home from an 8 1/2 hour construction walk on a new park and I'm exhausted as much mentally as I am physically. This is a 3-phase park with the first 50 acres done. I'm going to take a break and check in later.
