Hi Cats!

So I am home on one of these lovely required vacation days and I am chained to my computer because my managers cannot seem to get their employee evaluations done. We have an electonic system, and all 1300 employees at my hospital need to get evaluated. They've had since February 1st, and almost all of the managers have waited until this last week to do them. So....I am on vacation, with a message on my voicemail and my e-mail telling them to page me if they need me. I've been paged about 10 times so far, and I've been on the phone repeatedly. The good news is that I survived 2 accreditation surveys at work, and when this is done at 5PM today, things should all lighten up at work.

About the job situation, continue to think good thoughts for me. It's been very frustrating. My first interview was nearly 10 weeks ago. My second interview was 3 weeks ago. Though I've gotten very good feedback about my interviews, they haven't made any decisions and I continue to do the job. I just get a strange vibe on this whole thing. There's no reason that it should take this long if they want me for the job. Something else has to be up. So - I will keep you posted. I am thinking of composing a message to my VP, telling her about all of the accomplishments that I 've had since I've been in charge and sending it to her when I return to work on Tuesday. I just want to know where I stand.

Now to cruising....oh, how I need this cruise so bad!!!! I should probably book the Radisson soon since I haven't done that yet. Regarding our plans once we get to town, this is what we are thinking.....We'd like to get into Orlando, stop at CrisDee's, then do things on our own for the rest of the day Friday. We can meet up with everyone else on Saturday, as early as they'll let us check in at the Radisson, which I would guess might be as early as noon or so. We want to get to Bealls, Publix, ABC, etc., and then grab a bite on our own Friday night if that's cool with everyone else. Everyone is still planning on coming to Grills Saturday evening, right?

Is anyone doing anything special on Sunday, for Easter? We're going to have a small ham here together, then head over to Greg's Aunt's, for his cousin's birthday. We'll get to see the nieces which will be nice.

Barb - I am glad you checked in. I think about you, Greg, and your mom often. I hope she's comfortable, and I really hope she can make the cruise so we can all go shopping!

George - not sure if you saw my question or not - but did you get the full ticket price refunded, and do you need to buy tickets, or did they refund the fees and reticket you?

Ok, other Cats, hope you are all well too!

ok Jim glad that's not your house. I'd still be upset if all that was going on next door to me. Guess that is why we live in a neighborhood with an HOA that keeps that from happening. If not Tom would be doing the same thing I am sure.

Sheree we will see you saturday at the raddison as Friday night I will be still packing I am sure. You know that last minute sticking more things in and taking a few others out. I always do that right at the last minute.

Good afternoon all,

Just got in about an hour ago. Forgive me if I haven't caught up on the posts, I'll do later. Hoper everyone is doing well.

On the trip....

The drive was uneventful with the exception of two 12-year olds fighting in the back seat both to and fro.

The Queen Mary, was nice, not great, just nice. For a ship that advertises itself as a means to experience / step back into the past, they don't do a very good job of preserving it. Sure there were many areas, the promendade and engine room most notably, that are worth seeing, but the large majority of the ship is just bare rooms / walls, with nothing in common areas, halls, dining rooms...zip...nada! If I owned this vessel that reflects such an incredible history, I would outfit it in a manner in which would reflect that history. Myself, being a cruise / history enthusiast, I was pretty disappointed with the predominately empty carcus encircled by endless walls of wood paneling and exterior rocks. At this rate Carnival won't have long to wait to gain that extra berth they have been trying to get at the port, the Queen Mary is well on it's way to another destination as interest draws to a close. We did get to see the Paradise from the top of the Queen Mary. Arrielle was screaming and waving as they pulled away. The one bright side was the size of our room...must have been 400 sq ft. Most of the rooms were only accessible from narrow passage ways, each side with 3 cabins adjacent to one another. Some of the inner cabin passageways I had to duck. And if you do poorly with narrow halls, these cabins aren't for you. The dark paneling even broaden the narrow effect that much more. I will post photos when I get the chance.

I 'm really tired and there is much to write of. So, rather than skip through details, I will defer until tomorrow when I'm a little more awake.
