Oh Regina!! Sea days are the best! You can lounge around all day, mix up some tasty drinks in the blender, play games, take a nap, etc. It's vacation! I am the exact opposite of you on this one. I could do 7 days without touching land. Hmmmm...should we start looking at some options for the Southern Carribean in '09? Jim, George, Barb, Cris, Dee, what do you think? I can wait another year for Alaska.

Is everyone booked for the Radisson for Saturday night? I'll get us booked this weekend.

And did you all hear about the earthquake this morning? I didn't feel it, but the epi-center was almost 500 miles from here and many people in our area felt it according to the local news. I haven't talked to Greg (he's on duty) but I wonder if he got a lot of calls.

Have a good day - TGIF!

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH !!! :)P) Sea days are the best, the more the merrier!

That's fine with us. Like we always say, we will go where ever the group decides on...well almost :D Any thoughts on cruises and is there anything that leaves state side. San Juan air is expensive from here.

Sheree, there are no earthquakes in Ohio. Are you sure it wasn't the Bud-light truck rumbling by .

Booked it about a month ago. If you haven't done the rental car, you may want to do it soon. We got a pretty good deal through Costco.

Maybe the schedule just isn't fully out yet, but there are not a lot of Southern Carribean cruises for next September. I was on the websites for RCCL, Princess, Carnival and Norweigan and didn't find anything. I know...I should've been researching ports for this cruise if I was going to be playing around on the computer, but I just thought I'd check things out!

I am headed to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch with the girlfriends today. A little shopping will follow....Tonight is a little birthday get together for Greg's sister. He's at work tomorrow and I am looking forward to a day of nothing! What is everyone else up to?

Hey Gang....just wanted to drop in and say hi to all. Glad everyone is doing well.

Barb, so happy to hear about your mom! Sheree, your director needs to sh** or get off the pot and make a decision LOL

You can travel to the Southern Caribbean from Florida between late October and April. They are always at least 8 days or longer. Royals pricing has not been released for their 7 night itineraries yet for 09. We are still waiting. I can't remember if Royal did one from the states in 07 at this time or not but I do know that Holland, Princess & Carnival do. NCL to but not sure when pricing is coming out. I have always wanted to do the southern itinerary. I know Princess' Emerald will be doing it and we did an overnight on this ship and it is an amazing ship. NCL's Pearl did it last year and I think our DSM said the Jewel will be doing it this year. I will keep you all posted.

Well I have lots of work to do, just was taking a break. I have been doing pretty good at the cruise thing, I took 2nd place in a Carnival contest and 3rd in our Royal contest, I was two points shy for 2nd. Oh well I am thankful I even placed. We start a Celebrity on next week.

Dee - good to hear things are going well! Does that mean that there are any free or close to free cruises in your future if you do well in these contests?

Hmmmm......is Southern sounding good to everyone for next year? I wonder if any of the southern cruises hit Cozumel? That would be great to me! I can live without Jamaica and Grand Cayman. (Unless, of couse, the decision is made for the Cats to go west next year - I'd go if that's what you all wanted.)

Where is everyone? It's 77 and partly cloudy here - these are the days that I survive the winter for!

Some of us had to work today Sheree :D

On the southern route, I looked yesterday and found the same thing, not many choices yet. I certainly wouldn't mind an 8-9-10 day cruise if we can find one. If it's to much, or the selection remains slim, maybe the 10-day Alaska OUT OF San Francisco...just a thought. The Miracle does an eight day cruise?

Hello Cats,

We will cruise to any warm places. Southern would be great if we cruise from FL. We would even do a cruise to nowhere. We have been babysitting the Grandchildren this weekend. Our daughter must move from her rental in two weeks and is not having much success in finding a home. Mattea spent the night last night. She awakened at midnight with a bad dream and is sleeping with Papa now. No room for me in the bed. LoL

Regina,
You know you love sea days. We agree with George and Sheree about the sea days being fun and relaxing. It is all about attitude.

Dee,
Congrats on your success as a TA.

Dan,
Take care of your girls. Does Zoey sleep in your bed?

Sheree,
You must have a very stressful job with all those repsonsibilities. Are you going to wear your blue diamonds on this trip? I have never seen blue diamonds before. Are they more expensive?

Hope you all have a blessed week.

Barb - when I saw you had the last post at 1:02 AM - I thought you might have a case of insomnia or something! Not that you got kicked out of bed! The job is stressful, all right, but I wish they could just define what my job is! I can't wait to get some answers about my job at the end of the week. I'll be sure to post as soon as I get home....even if that is while I am drowning my sorrows (or celebrating) in margaritas!

Yes, the blue diamonds will go on the trip. I absolutely love my necklace that I bought last year. The diamonds are small, but design is very cute, so I really do enjoy the necklace. I don't think the blue diamonds are more expensive, in fact, I think they may be less expensive because it is actually a radiation treatment that makes them turn blue, so I think they can use a diamond that is not flawless to make it blue. (Almost all colored gemstones are treated to enhance the color - FYI if you are not as nuts about jewelery as I am!) The ring that I have from a couple of years ago is princess cut diamonds in white gold - almost like a checkerboard design. I don't own a lot of white gold, but this wouldn't look as pretty in yellow gold. I'd like to find a nice, solid pair of small hoop earrings in white and blue diamonds to match. Last year I was looking for these too and the prices weren't too great, but I also didn't see anything that I wanted that much, so I didn't try to get them down on the prices.

Sorry you were working on Saturday, George, but I think about how lucky you are to have Monday off when I'd rather be off!

Jim - what do you think about Southern for next year?

Southern sounds good to me .... I just don`t want air fare :) 10 days sounds good too.

Airfare prices are insane. I am still trying to find airfare to Las Vegas for June. I'll be watching that for the next week or so. The cheapest I found last night was on Southwest, and it's not my favorite airline, but we'll see what else is out there. We used to get good rates on direct routes on Continental, but they are not as good as they used to be for us. If they have a flight, it's expensive. But in many cases, they have fewer flights. We'll see how it goes!

Jim, the prices are so high I think it would stop most families from flying! Usually we can get decent rates to Florida, and like George, not so great rates to San Juan, so I hope we can find something out of FL if we decide on Southern next year.

Hope you all have a good week....Sheree

Good morning,

Dee, glad to hear the TA business is going well. How is the shop doing? Maybe in the future you can open a "CrisDee's Fab Bags and Travels"....it has a nice ring to it? Anne and Arrielle are looking forward to coming by the shop and seeing you all. Did we ever decide on dinner? What about Port Canaveral, are you all spending the night at the Radisson? See if you can work it in.

Jim / Sheree, I know what you mean about airfares. We were skeptical about paying $300.00 a ticket for this cruise and were flirting with holding out for a better price...AM I GLAD WE DIDN'T !!! It's funny how oil production / levels are at all time highs and yet a barrel of oil today is at $117.00 this morning. No one is taking into account the role these Wall Street speculators (futures markets) are playing in driving up the prices. A little over a year ago, a major investigation was launced into these guys for market fixing and the prices plummeted over night. These folks should go to jail for the practices they are employing. Look at the effect it's having on the tourism industry. Airlines are either merging, filing for bankruptcy protection, or shutting it's doors all together. The cruise industry is in a parculiar spot with airline prices being what they are. They grown accustomed increased revenues by raising prices, largely due to Americans willingness to fly to a given port over the last few years. Sooner or later the sky rocketing airline prices are going to have an effect on them as well. Don't be surprised if prices start to fall in the cruise industry, just to offset the airline prices. Otherwise ships are going to start to see the effects of diminishing bookings. Oil prices have already effected the bottom line of every other industry, it's only a matter of time it will the cruise industry as well. Sheree, I'm with you on this one, San Juan is always rediculous for us...I would prefer something out of the states. As much as I want to do a little longer cruise, there just might not be much to choose from. Maybe the Freedom out of Port Canaveral or the 8-day Miracle out of Ft. Lauderdale next year would be options? And Jim, if you are planning to take the whole clan again, flying definitely wouldn't be an option for you. I don't know how you do it, I know when Arrielle is out of school and has a job, she is responsible largely for her own vacations...YES!!!

Sheree,

Can't remember what airline you are flying (Continental?), but have they changed their luggage allowance? Both Delta and Fronteir have gone to one checked bag per passenger. Of course they both are stating this is to reduce fuel costs...yeah right, just like raising the prices at the pump is to force conservation! We are considering 3 checked and 3 carry-on. All the airlines have done is move the baggage from below, up to the over-heads inside. You think the over-heads were crowded before!

George - we are on Continental. As I undersand it, since we booked before the rules changed, we are good to check 2 bags a piece. You are right - it'll just make the overhead storage more unbearable, plus back up the security lines longer! There is no way I could go on a cruise and only check one bag. Or maybe I'd make Greg carry on all of his stuff so I could use our allowance!

And now my meeting on the job is moved up to Thursday morning. So, if it's bad news, I'll be a real "rhymes with witch" for the rest of the day!

Sheree, that's what we thought as well. Both Delta's and Frontier's policy went into effect after we booked, so naturally we thought we were grand-fathered in....wrong! We called both airlines and they made it clear it was for all flights after a particular date...the fact that we purchased tickets prior to the policy being written was irrelevent. Although, I have considered dropping a line to the AG office to see if they can enforce such a policy after the tickets had been purchased. Just for piece of mind, you might want to call Continental.

You don't understand Jim, I am the king of my castle...I am strong...although she does have really big blue eyes :D

I'll find out what the story is with Continental. I was pretty sure that I read that it was tickets that were purchased after a certain date, but I'll check.

Jim - how many people are traveling with you this year? I'm just curious how big the Big Cats group is this year.

Off to work for another day of fun and games. :)
