Hey all! I had an EXCITING day before the 4th!!!! I was taking Rocky( our dog) out for a walk and he ran into some bushes and got SKUNKED!!!! IT SUCKED!!! Luckly it was a small skunk spray because Rocky didn't foam at the mouth or anything! He was just trying to get the smell off! He had 2 baths today and still has a little smell left!


Anyways, I hope EVERYONE has a FUN & SAFE 4th of July!!

Ok - 72 days. Or 10 weeks, 2 days. Depending on what sounds shorter to you!

Fireworks in our town and the town that we border with (where my Target is) were last night. We didn't go - but they were going off until close to midnight. The cats were not happy. I know they probably did them last night because most people would have to be back to work the next day, but I couldn't get in the mood to go see fireworks after a day at work. All I wanted to do was relax and get ready to enjoy the next two days off. We've had about 6 days of gorgeous weather, but today we are supposed to have on and off showers and thunderstorms.

Nothing else going on here. Greg's on his 20th vacation of the year, or something like that. He's been off since last Friday and he doesn't go back until the 13th. He's been cleaning the garage and the shed, and he has litle projects that he's been working on, so I guess I can't pick on him too much. Well, at least not yet - the day is early.

What is everyone up to for the day? We'll probably just grill burgers later today, between raindrops!

Sheree, sounds like the interview was pretty informal and went well. Prayers and good thoughts coming your way. On disciplinary action in the workplace, I'm dealing with quite a bit of that right now and it's occuppying the majority of my time. On the 72 days until Miami, we were talking about that last weekend how fast the time has flown this year; let's hope the cruise seems considerably longer. It's crazy how we spend so much time preparing/posting for the cruise and then in a blink of an eye your standing back in the living room unpacking the luggage. We need a longer cruise next year!


Tommy, no new cars for us either. We recently just paid off both of our vehicles and for the first time in the almost 18 years we have been married, we don't a vehicle payment. As long as the vehicles look decent inside and out, I would rather fix mechanical issues than go back to a payment again. Does wonders for the cruise fund

Jim, can you do the search for local "beverage" distributors in Miami?

Yes - we need to have a plan for stocking up on beverages since we can't fly with them!

I am looking at something called a slushy blender, which is a cheap version of the magic bullet blender. I'd love to be able to find something for frozen margaritas in the room. Of course, I'll have to try it out several times before the cruise to make sure that it works!

Oh - my car has been paid off for 2 years - I love the new cars but I can't bring myself to even think about having a car payment again. Greg's Jeep has about 18 more payments, I think. Yes, cruising each year is more valuable than a shiny new car!

Ok.....I am so bored. The weather is crappy. Greg's cleaning the garage. I've been doing laundry and watching TV while playing on the net occasionally. I know I have banned myself from shopping, but I've been visiting shopping websites today and I found a really cute purse on sale.....I am not sure if I am going to be able to resist. I know I should since the final cruise payment is due in 3 days.....it's so hard to resist though! I told Greg that he's lucky that I don't like Louis Vuitton bags - I found a really nice one for $1600.

I mapped out Senor Frogs....I think we'll be able to find it easily enough. I was also trying to find some place in St Martin for us to meet up at if some people are diving in the morning and others are planning to shop immediately, but I can't figure that one out yet.

Hi guys - just got off the phone with Lori and made my final payment. I went out to the garage where Greg's working on a project and said "are you sure you want to go on this cruise?" He looked at me like I was nuts (perhaps I am) and then I told him I was going to call to make our final payment. I was able to talk to Lori in person (I think we've only exchanged e-mails in the past) and asked her about the future cruise booking. I think I am going to budget for that - basically you just have to put down $200 per couple towards your next cruise and then you get $100 OBC on the next cruise (free money!) and then we get whatever perks we can get as a group on top of that. She said that you don't even have to waste time talking to the vacation planner on board - they leave you information practically every night under the door. You just have to use your deposit on a cruise within the next 4 years. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Who knows what the plans are for next year, but I know we'll be on RCCL sometime in the next 4 years!

Hey Everyone, Sounds like everyone is gearing up for your cruise.

Sorry I have not posted lately, I am going to fill you in on all the fun details!!!! This is mostly for Sheree, she and I like to read the boards like a story....So I am giving you a blow by blow!! ENJOY

Things here are progressing, We will hopefully be done with the buildout of my sister's place in less than 2 weeks. We still have not closed on our house yet, the bank is a real pain in the a#%, living in Florida is a nightmare due to all the insurance requirements the bank is requiring from our buyer. I think part of the problem is the buyer is using Bank of America and they are much strictor than a reguar lender. We are expecting to close next week and then rent back the house for a month while we pack and move over gradually. If you can believe it I am downsizing once again into less than 500 s.f. I believe God is teaching me a lesson on minimalism.. I am going to have a huge garage sale and be free from the stuff that weighs me down...lol

Julie and I brought up her niece and nephew (10 and 9)from Port St. Lucie on Saturday. I was working during the day and Dee and I had a purse party that night so Julie took the kids to the Museum of Science and in less than one hour they were bored. So she took them the Fun Spot and then McDonalds, so we all arrived home about 9pm. Her niece megan slept with me and max, she talked all night until finally about 2am I told her I could no longer hang with the big dawgs...lol mind you she's 9 with beautiful blue eyes and blond hair ( surfer chick) simple adorable. We got up Sunday and took them to church, we had cocoa at the cafe in the morning with their free Christ Church of Orlando mug they got for visiting. After service we went home to get ready for a bbq at my friend cris's house she was in town from NY with her son Dominick. Dee and Doris were there with my sister, Eve, cris' brother robert, her mom and stepdad, Betty & Harry, and an old friend of ours Loly, We had a great day of swimming, eating, playing ball in the pool and playng jacks. We came home and got ready for bed, we had a big day tomorrow, we were Meeting, Cris, Loly and Dominick and going to Typhoon Lagoon. We get to the park at 11am and go on every ride immaginable, surf in the wave pool, the crusher gusher, where I have an ass bruise the size of whopper from Burger King, we finally leave at 7pm, run home and change and head out to PR's Mexican Restaurant, where the kids can write all over the walls and chairs, it's a fab place, we had margaritas and my beloved Fundido until almost midnight. Tuesday we get up and go to my sisters, I have to wait for the contractor so we bring the kids to swim in the pool, we played in the pool all afternoon. We head home, shower and dress for Downtown Disney where we will meet up with Mike and Cheryl, Julie's Brother & Sister in law, Julie's mom Judy, Cris her son Dominick, my sister loretta and Loly so now we are a brood, heading to lego land....We closed down the place and headed to Friday's until 2am, I finally got to bed at 3am, molly got me up at 6am and off we go Wednesday to my sisters with Julie's whole family to swim before they go home with the kids. In between all this fun, Julie and I were running everyday back and forth to Home Depot and Lowes and my sisters to check the progress and get what he needed each day,..

It was a fabulously exhausting week of fun with Nicholas and Megan and my friend cris and her son Dom, the kids all got along so well and I was a big kid right along with them. I am desperate for a cruise!!! Julie is wiped out, she said if she ever thought of having kids this week sure cured her....lol

Hey Cris!!! Thanks for posting all that - it sounds like a busy few days! Every time I hear a story from any of you in Florida it sounds like you really do enjoy playing tourist when friends and family come to visit. I'm not familiar with Legoland. Is that something that adults can enjoy too? Not that I'd go there without borrowing a niece or something, but is it really just for younger kids? I think I'd love living in Florida if I could just talk Greg into it. I still think that all of the Big Cats should live in a retirement village together.

Today I violated my "no shopping in July" rule. I tried to be good, believe me I did. But they had 30% off sale prices at Dillards and the shoes were screaming my name. I heard them all the way frm my house. The shoes were saying "buy me, buy me!" I'll try to be good the rest of the month. I called my mom and said "shoes don't count do they?" Unfortunately mom said they did. Then I told her that at least I made it 1/6 of a month - and she said "no, you really didn't. There are 31 days in the month." Oops. I am so bad. I really did try though!

I've been soaking up the A/C since getting back because it's really hot and humid out. I've been trying to find some interesting cruise options for next year, but I can't find much of anything. I do like the Miracle's itinerary, but I didn't like the ship all that much. Here's what it says:

I did see a transalantic and I know if we look early enough we can ge good flights back... my brother was flying round trip for like $220 round trip from england. Well guys just throwing that out there to see what anyone thinks.

Bub is now driving the full size jeep cherrokee with quadrtrak 4X4.. his truck motor is toast..we are getting a new motor for his trick ,,he likes his truck. and we will put it in.. at least we don`t have to rush with it. bobbies van moror is back together and we crank it up on the bench tomorrow just to make sure we have no leaks.and back in in goes. I have just bought a wire fed welder to weld the new hindges on her doors..and if that works and the seats are covered she will be driving it. Than on to bubs truck.

Chris you did have me confused as I thought Dee was crusie girl so you know me as I am reading I am going back to the top to see who it was from again thinking crap all this time I though Dee was Cruise girl and she's not Chris is.

So now you know it does not take much to confuse me!

Maybe I should pay closer attention to all posts.You know that I did confess that I do not go back and read all posts if I have not been on in awhile. (we can thank Nancy for that true confession)

I am the only one not getting excited yet. There is way to much to lose before the crusie still so I can not get excited.

One thing that did excite me was the slushie maker that Sheree is looking for.

I have my magic bullet and two personal blenders. think I will leave the Magic bullet at home as I do not want to take a chance of the taking it away from me.

Dan did you get sprayed by the skunk as well? That must have been horrible. Poor Rocky. Did you bath him in Tomato juice. I have heard that is great for de skunking yourself. Not sure if it true or an ole wives tell though.

Chris anything good goign to be sold at your garage sale? say big screen tv's, hot tubs, cool furiture? If so we want to know when it is.

I did not get sprayed by the skunk!!! Thank G-D!!! I didn't bathe Rocky in Tomato juice, but I did find Nature's Miracle Skunk-off that helped! It is supposed to break down the enzymes that the skunk sprays. He still has some smell by his ears, but it is getting less! Rocky HATES water so it is hard to bathe him sometimes!!!

Hey cats....George, don't keep us in suspense. I am hoping everything is okay with Anne.

I am supposed to hear about the job - I go back to work today for one day - which makes so much sense. NoT! I am actually going to be surprised if I do hear something today, only because I know how slow our new recruitment system works!

Hey all just want to let you all know that Princess has a few ships doing southern caribbean next year to, I think 9 and 10 day and yes Sheree it includes St. Kitts :lol Also St. Lucia to! I am also one of those that do not like to repeat ships. I have to stick with Cris on this one. So many new ships so little time!!! As much as I love the Miracle, I would not be hard pressed to find another ship that I have not sailed going to the same ports.

Hi guys - just checking in real quick to let you know that I didn't get the job. I am pretty bummed, even though I said I wouldn't be. Greg went to get us ice cream so I can drown my sorrows in a turtle sundae. I know the person who got the job and she's a friend and very competent. I am just disappointed, I guess, and I am a little bothered that she doesn't quite have the level of experience that I do, but she's already working in the same office, but just at a slightly lower level.

That's it for now. I told Greg that we needed to "talk cruise" when I got home so that he can snap me out of my funk. That didn't work so I had to send him for ice cream.
