Hi All.

Yes I heard from Lawrence. Here's an exerpt from an e-mail he sent..

"The tour last just over three hours,we visit historical sites like English Harbour,Nelson's Dockyard,Shirley's Height, infact the entire national park on the southern side of the island. We then drive through the rain forest, you will see the beautiful coastline after, then if you want to relax on the beach for a few hours, you can. There is a restaurant on the beach, umbrellas, chairs infact things to make your day what it should be.You can do some swiming or snorkelling on that beach. At the end of the day,we drive back to the cruise ship there is when each person will pay $25.US each for the service."

This is an option if anyone's interested.

Maureen - That sounds good. If I'm not scuba diving I may just do that. And $25.00 seems very reasonable. Thanks for contacting him.

John - On my TA's site some prices went up by about $100 a room, but the verandah rooms and the one S suite went up by $400 - $900 pp. Don't know what kind of $ change there was on HAL's site.

Suer - Thought that's what you meant, but wasn't sure. Thanks for clearing that up for a knuckle dragging guy like me.:grin I agree with you about booking early. I had my room go down in price and got it lowered. Then was happy that I was locked in when it went up.

85 days to go!!!!!!!!

e may be up for the tour of the island as LONG as it includes a stop for a few hours at one of the beaches. That would be the key for US as we are definitley looking to see Nelsons Dockyard and some MORE of Antigua. 1st I ever heard of Antigua ever having a rain forest as I figured it was WAY to flat for that. Then again most of the time a BEACH has been my #1 priority followed closely by those Wadadli Brews. :grin I know MichiganParrothead did this on the CH@OS cruise when we stoppped at Antigua as he left our beach party at Dickenson's Bay and went over to the other side of the island. For anyone wanting some info on Wadadli Beer here it is ......... http://www.antiguabrewery.com/ $25 is a VERY Good price if we can get Lawrence to do waht we want. Thanx for the Leg Work Maureen. :thumb

Here are a couple of photos from MPH's jaunt over there.

Nelsons Dockyard

and Darkwoods Beach looks like it could be a nice hangout for a few hours. :dance

We are in port late that day also so perhaps a stop as we head back towards the ship for one or two of those Wadadli Local Brews might be in order. :cheers

Sure looks like that group is having a good time. Maybe this time we will see more of Antigua last time it ws raining and I looked at that long long pier and decided it was a good day to stay on board the ship. I watched some of the tour groups still walking blocks away to board their transportation.

Maureen,
The excursion looks fine to us also. Have to agree with E about beach time and time to explore the market at the end of the pier. That is where the happy time pic was taken. What time does the excursion leave?

If anyone is interested in booking tours with the ship, they are available online for purchase. I am assuming you have to be paid in full in order for you to access that area.

My final payment hasn't shown up on my CC yet. So I called HAL. They said that they haven't received it, however, my TA has a large block booked for that sailing and I shouldn't worry about it. Does that seem right?

Did you call and ask your TA if they made your final payment? My TA said final was due 8/16 if paying by credit card and 8/11 if paying by check. Allowing time for clearing and processing.

Hey Orcrone............
Best route down to Norfolk............. I'd like to take the Bay Bridge, 95-64 seems like a lot of traffic by Baltimore DC and Richmond. Any thoughts?
