not joking.. honest :lol we were trying to fill in the passport stuff for me and it said "this person cancelled" so we called HAL, and sure enough, they did not have me down.
something to do with the paperwork. So we called our TA and set her on them :lol she hopefully got it straightened out, and I should have no problem when I get there.

But if I do, This is not a problem caused my my TA.. it is a HAL problem.. hummmmmmm, now what is there to do in Norfolk while I wait for you guys to return? :lol

Hal-o-weenies.. check your e-mail.

Did I mention that years ago I had a nickname of MOWEENIE? oh.. maybe I shouldn't have said that.. lol! :) Blame that one on Laura (who's sailing with me on the cl@ss cruise).

UPDATE - Some of the e-mails came back because the file was too large for the addicts e-mail. What I sent was a copy of the Maasdam dining room layout. I'll try to send it to those of you I have e-mail addresses for. If I don't have yours please let me know.

Lisa63 just got back from her Maasdam sailing. Sail a way was at the aft pool on the Navigation deck, deck 10. I have heard that from many others as well. For inclement weather sail a way is held in the Crows Nest.

Here is my 2 cents. Still meet at the Dolphin bar on the Lido deck at 3:30. The side of the ship that is facing the port and by the tables.

Then again after lifeboat drill, same side of the ship again near the tables, Navigation deck, deck 10 for the festivities. Same thing if it is held in the Crows Nest.

Thoughts anyone ?

I will find the festivities wherever they are. Anyplace we decide to gather sounds good to me.

Will look foreward to joining in on the sailaway and meeting all my addict friends. 61 days really less for me as we will .leave abt 5 days before the cruise from Missouri.

John... now that is a thought :lol

Suer... huh! without plowing back through all the discussions here... are you having a meeting in the dolphin bar before we sail, and another after..but this time on the Navigation deck?

One thing about the Crows nest, if weare going there.. get there soon. it is a prime place in most ships for watching the sailaways.

cheers,

Oh my John do we have long stories to hear about.... :lol

To answer the questions. yes and yes.

Orcrone and Maw both have 6:15 dinner, making sail a way a rushed event. If people are interested making an earlier gathering would give us ample time to meet Orcrone. That was my thinking about the gathering at 3:30 at the Dolphin bar. Plus do we really need an excuse to meet for a frozen thingee ???? :lol :lol I am hoping it will be one of many many many many more......

Early would be better since we're at the 6:15 dinner. However, since it's not a formal night we could really just leave the sailaway at 6:10 and head straight to the DR, so I don't think we'll be pressed for time. On a seperate note I was looking forward to us sailing out of Norfolk down the Elizabeth river passing the Hampton Road Bridge Tunnel, into the Chesapeake Bay and it's bridge tunnel, and then going by the VA Beach oceanfront. But we'll probably be at dinner for most of that. Oh well.

FYI

Clamshell rentals are now part of the Shore Excursions list (for $9.00). I reserved one online today for HMC. Now I won't have to stop in the shore excursion desk when I get onboard.

John.. after seeing the photo of you that bOB removed from the community board :lol I do not think we want to debate "short" :grin

Thanks Suer, now that makes sense.
Marc, you could go to optional dining that night and still get to see all of that.

After spending an hour both on-line and on phone with HAL.. I think I will start that happy hour NOW!

I have to tell you that the fleet option is looking more of a "go" than me actually being on that cruise!

I was trying to book the same shore excursions as Einstein.... it would not let me. it acted as if I do not exist.

I tried everything and then called the shore excursions number to see if I could book that way.
Well... NO! and the lady did say that she thinks the trouble was that I was canceled. But now I am in there again as passenger #3.
So she says that I can try again tomorrow.

Now as my last sailing with HAL was less than stellar..... do you think this is trying to tell me something? :lol

anyway, right now E's tours are booked, and he has a clamshell reserved. :lol

Although I am trying real hard to remember what that beach looks like.
The last time I was on it was 1997. But I do not recall being without shade? so is the clamshell really necessary?

Red,

I was considering the Pinnacle for the first night. It's half price and I'm cheeeaap!!! I hate to miss the first night in the DR. But I figure we could go, introduce ourselves, have an appetizer and excuse ourselves.

BTW, what excursions is everyone looking at/booking? I haven't really thought about it too much, except that HMC will probably just be a beach day for us (assuming it survives Frances). I think we'll also book a clamshell.
