Never got a chance to stop by yesterday due to continued family bonding! So far this morning things are quiet, so I'm taking advantage of it. Too bad I'm still tired. Baby had me up shortly after 6 this morning ... UGH!!! Now they want me to make breakfast. What do they think this is - a bed and breakfast? LOL

Cool morning again today, but not as cool as Ocala, I'm sure. It's 62 here.

Off to the kitchen I go ...

Hi all..........

Had a great day yesterday with the SS people......................then it all went downhill............coming home on 301,we were stopped for construction...................waiting for the guy to turn the sign from STOP to SLOW..........we were 2nd in line.............when all of a sudden,I hear squealing brakes and BAM! Hit my car from behind................

Dennis and I both jump out only to see the other driver.,,,,,84 year old man who could barely walk, MUCH less drive...............

It was so cold( at 9:30 pm) while waiting for the state trooper(took him over 30 mins).fire dept came right away and we all signed waivers not to go to the hospital...............

My Jeep is a mess.................whole rear right quarter panel off.............needs to be replaced along with the bumper/tow hitch.........we had pnly the left brake light driving home(no right blinker or brake light)............good thing it happened close to home............

Tried to file with State Farn(his ins),but they cant help me till they hear from him(and hes from INDIANA,so no telling when they will talk to him).........so for now,had to file with GEICO so I could get a rental...............and they will go after State Farm............

So now my car is at the body shop(waiting for GEICO to give an estimate) and Im driving a sporty little car(Pontaic G6)..........

whatta mess...............all because someone who shouldnt be driving was...........he claims the construction guy was flipping the sign around from Stop to Slow(he wasnt)................my question is wouldnt he have to wait for all the cars to move first anyway......

IDIOT!

That's awful, Kathy! What a way to ruin a nice day. You've got to wonder about some of these people out on the road. Laurie was once broadsided crossing the Blvd. She had waited out the left turn signal and was crossing the road when a guy in his late 80s hit her. The man's wife told the police that the light changed too fast and he had no time to stop!::eek: Give me a break! The light was red for him for over a minute. Needless to say, he got a careless driving ticket.

I hope they're able to fix your car quickly. It's a pain, but at least you got a nice rental. See ... You should have kept your Mustang!

Heck no,if I had that mustang,it would had been worse.....................

The guy also got a careless driving citation................$141..........state tropper told him he 30 days to pay................he asked if he could pay from Indiana so thats why I think hes headed back home..........................I asked him if he was a snowbird, but he didnt answer.................I tell you,he needed to be somewhere safe and have someone taking care of him..I actually felt sorry for him................meak,little man out at 9:30 at night?? WHY?????

Thought of Laurie today when we picked up the car from Enterprise........whole office looked different..........

I figured you had gotten the rental from Enterprise. Now that I think about it, you're probably right about the Mustang.

I have a nice quiet house right now. Bert's off for some blood work. The kids left a little after 8 to meet up with the rest of the family for a day at Disney. I needed some down time ... For the third night in a row, I had Kris & Gary here for dinner too. And we're not done yet. Tonight Laurie & Ron are staying over so they can all go to Islands of Adventure tomorrow. I'm making a spiral sliced ham to feed the masses. UGH! I am so over having company!!! I want my nice quiet house back!!!

Morning........

Haha.sounds to me like you need a quiet weekend get away........know any that would fit the bill?? =huh

Had my choice where to take my car...........GEICO would have it towed to Jenkins on SW 12th(not sure its that the one on 200??) and then Enterprise could pick me up....................I asked about Intl Body since I could walk there if necessary and they have done good work before and with Enterprise there, much easier...........so thats how we wound up there..........

Think I might get my nails done today.........they are too long.............getting a late start cuz I slept till 10.............I was exhausted since I didnt sleep well the night before...................

Enjoy your day!

I can think of a perfect getaway and it's located a little over an hour away!;) Unfortunately, that will probably have to wait until after the holidays.

So are you ready to go cruising with Lois? Should be an interesting couple of days!!!

Met a number of people on the Jewel who usually cruise on Celebrity. For many of them this was their first RCI cruise and they weren't all that happy. They preferred the X experience better, but you'd never have known it the way they were scarfing down the drinks in the CL!

[size=medium]ATTENTION CRUISERS: Saw this in our local paper and wondered if you all were aware of it. Another good reason to book DIRECT with the cruise lines to avoid getting scammed.

Buzz up!

One of the nation's largest online cruise retailers -- owned by a Michigan firm -- folded this week, leaving financial problems for customers.

Cruise Value Center of East Brunswick, N.J., never paid $2 million to $3 million in cruise fares to the cruise lines, so people who booked with it may not actually have confirmed reservations on sailings, according to industry journal Cruise Week. The company may have not bought cruise insurance on behalf of some customers.

Cruise Value Center was acquired in 2007 by Travel Holding Entity of Bloomfield Hills, which merged it with its own company, Cruises of Distinction. One of its offices was on Woodward in Bloomfield Hills.

On Thursday, calls went unanswered both at the Michigan office and the national toll-free number. Its registered agent with the state, Ronald Smith, could not be reached.

The company had been on track to do $100 million in sales in 2008, according to industry journal Travel Weekly.

On Thursday, the Michigan Attorney General's Office reported four complaints had been filed against Cruises of Distinction, the last one in 2007 and all resolved, said spokesman Matt Frendewey.

Carolyn Spencer Brown, editor of Cruise Critic.com, recommended that those who booked through Cruise Value Center confirm their reservations with the cruise line directly. Those who paid with a credit card should be protected, but others may lose money.

WOW.........talk about ripping people off big-time. Just thought I'd give you folks a heads up even though most of you don't use
this company.
