I'm back! Another totally unsuccessful shopping trip. Apparently the place we were looking for no longer exists. Talk about a waste of gas! Next stop is to head up to Leesburg maybe tomorrow. I remember passing a place with lawn art coming back from Missy's house. Also might check Porter's in the Villages, if I can't find what I want. I can't believe this is so difficult!!!!

Time for a glass of wine. After all ... It's 5 o'clock only 1 time zone away from us! Care to join me, PH?o

Nancy and I came down to Watsonville early this morning to look after Joseph.......same drill tomorrow, but I think we're going to come down early and take him back to our house in Gilroy.

It's way too far away, BB, but at our exit off of US 101 there is a big place that sells the things you are looking for. Huge selection. BTW, did Berts retirement stay intact with the purchase of A B?.... I've been thinking about that for a while and kept meaning to ask you.

Sounds like a relaxing day for you PH, I really have no idea how we got the "elite" label for this thread.....to my knowledge, it has been wide open since the beginning.

San - As of right now, Bert's retirement pension is still good. Not sure if things will change though, as Bert got an email yesterday from a former co-worker. They have been informed that ImBev will probably sell off Metal Container Corp. to one of the other can companies. Bert's pension is through AB, so I don't know if the sale of MCC will have anything to do with him. It's still kind of early in the deal to find out all the details. We're just keeping our fingers crossed at this point.
Maybe I need to make a trip out your way to find stuff for the yard. I know we'd find plenty in south Florida, but we really don't want to make that trip. Too bad I can't talk Bert into heading down there for a cruise and go shopping afterwards. I can dream can't I?
I think you and Nancy are trying to unseat K2 & Art as grandparents of the year! Have fun with Joseph/

Well BB, hopefully the pension will remain intact. I can't believe that the government has allowed companies to do away with retirement benefits for some. Retirees contributed to those companies for their entire career and helped pay for the benefits. Seems the govt. continues to fail the general public more and more.....Like congress going on vacation for six weeks without dealing with the energy bill....that's criminal, I think.....the SOBs should have their vacation pay docked...they're just thumbing their noses at us.

Hope the "elite" thread allows Carnival cruisers...at least I'm trying to move up...cruising Mariner this October and Princess next October.

Good point...us Californians need to stick together...if if one of us moved to the "other coast"...Here in Florida you hear New York, New Jersey, mid-west and of course, southern accents. People always look at me, like...hmmm...no accent...where can that person be from.

Well, better leave for work...I'm coming down with Gary's cold/virus...but this is a bad time for it...last week before teacher's report. Uggh...and last week of 10 hour days.

Hey, PQ - Long time no see. So are you ready for crunch week to begin? Bet there's still a lot of open positions to be filled at the last minute like previous years. I laugh everytime we pass a school and I see more and more cars in the parking lot. Even though they don't have to yet, the teachers are returning to start setting up their classrooms. I used to do that too. Come the middle of July, I used to get the itch to get back in my room and get things straightened out.

PH - You can join me for a glass of wine anytime. I sure needed one after the MMs left last night ... The kids were wound up. They stayed until around 9:30, which to me is too late for little kids, but heck - I'm not their parent.

San - I agree with PH that you should stay up all night keeping an eye on Joseph. That's what a good grandpa would do. Yeah, right!!! Besides, then you could post here all night and wouldn't have to worry about being pond scum!!! LOL

Me "Elite"......... (Now that I spent 5 minutes laughing I'll finish my post...) Come to think about it, I was never invited to join any thread..... I just read for a while and then jumped in, and never have been thrown out and I was posting on here many years ago..... I can't tell you just when, cause I lost all that when my puter crashed..... Used to post on here, Cruise Critic, Cruise mates, etc.

This was really our PRIMARY Township Election...........like for Sheriff, Treasurer, Clerks, Prosecutor etc. Nothing too big. And then they did add the Millage for the Zoo too. Art just brought in the newspaper showing me that it said Primary!

Now on the other hand ........referring to Serbs..........we don't vote.........we just throw someone in office and if we don't like him or her we SHOOT them and start over again!! P)

The basement job is getting boring. I'm finding too much stuff for the sale and not enough tables that I would have to put it all on. Maybe Salvation Army can just get it all. :girly
