PH - Haven't you learned anything after all these years of living in Florida? Time is an abstract of which Florida repairmen have absolutely no concept! Between 7 & 8 really means between 12 & 1!

KC - A free styling and you're not sure about getting it? Come on, girl ... Go for it! You can't beat the price!!!

We got a heavy downpour that came out of nowhere yesterday afternoon while we were at the Grill. It was too funny watching the kids swimming during the rain. It was something different for them - Lots of heavy rain with no thunder and lightening, so they didn't have to close the pool. The kids thought this was the most fun they've had all summer!! Just as suddenly as the rain arrived, it was gone and the sun was back shining brightly. Surprisingly, the humidity didn't go up that much.

I'm waiting for a phone call from the woman who is taking over as activities director around here. She's replacing the gal who did nothing all day and spent most of her time telling you why she was too busy to do her job! I'm going to help her to get a newsletter out. It's been almost a year since the last one!

Think I need another cup of coffee ...

PH: I'd be getting HOT under my bathing suit if the A/C MAN doesn't show up pretty soon. Did you try calling the company?? Should have called them yesterday afternoon to remind them. I just can't believe how BAD SERVICE is in Florida. UNREAL!!

K2 - I volunteer at our club for some of the activities ... BINGO, serving "goodies" to the kids, etc. I also volunteered months ago to help with the newsletter. Got 1 newsletter out and then the director decided she was too busy to do another one. Still haven't heard from the new director. Hope she's not going to be like the last one.

So what kind of food shall we talk about? Haven't made up my mind as to what to make for dinner tonight. All I know is that it will be something light. Too hot for a heavy meal!

Just NOT hungry enough right now to even THINK about what's for dinner!! Wouldn't it be nice if GUYS had to do all that planning, buying and cooking! Of course, on the other hand I wouldn't want to have to do some of the things they do. Like playing cards on Thurs & Fridays and Biking 4 times a week!! Not to mention all the time spent on Crossword puzzles around here!! :girly

Just got through making my next 3 months worth of hair-cuts. The place I go to only opens the books ahead for 3 months and if you don't book early you're out of luck most of the time. I got lucky with the Sept and Oct bookings. November was getting full but I got what I wanted. December books open up the lst of September. Did you understand ALL of that!! Hee Hee!

Off to get some Watermellon out of the frig for lunch.

Hi all...........I know you're all gonna be shocked,but the Ac guy DID NOT SHOW UP........We left the house at 10-....left him a note,but he wasnt here to pick it up...I couldnt be bothered calling the company again since this is the 2nd time this week........Im gonna give the home warranty people an earful........so we went to Lowes....dennis bought the stuff to do it himself(which he wanted to the other day,but I figured the $55 service call would cost us about as much as the parts we buy,plus give him a break from crawling around in the attic......).........so anyhow....he replaced the hose that connected from the airhandler and made a hole in part of the soffit(??) and its now draining out like it should......end of story...

OHMIGOSH....cant believe your place books up so early for haircuts,K2....glad you got your appt......I make mine when I realize I need one NOW!!...

I agree KC.go for the haircut and style...........why not??

Ok, who also thinks BB will be the new editor of the paper??

Took a nap earlier......I was tired from getting up so early.........I did make us brunch.another Rachel Ray recipe.It was on 30 min meals..

Art's biking and I'm going to meet Jill halfway to pick up Eric.

I had a choice of getting up at 6:00a.m. and driving to their house to watch him and then take him to Parks & Rec or having him overnight. Didn't take much to figure out what I wanted to do.
His Dad is in Chicago and his sister is in Kalamazoo at her friends until tomorrow night. (Her Dad drops her off on the way to Chicago)

So.......that's my life story and I'm sticking to it!! Hee Hee.

PH: Good for Dennis getting the hose fixed. I hope that the A/C man has to waste his precious time making another trip over to your house only to find out that the JOB is ALREADY DONE!! Serves him right for not at least CALLING. Geez......it's not like we don't have cell phones handy these days.

BB: You get that NEW JOB as Editor yet!! :lol

SAN: How is the NEW HOUSE coming along?? Got any pictures taken?? Hopefully, Nancy knows how to use a camera!!

No job for me! I gave up working 6 years ago and don't intend to start in again. I don't mind volunteering once in a while, but don't try to put me on the payroll and expect me to show up every single day! That would interfere with my cruises!!!!
Actually ended up volunteering to help the bartender at the Grill this evening. There was a pizza party for 20 kids who won a contest last weekend. There was no one to help her serve the pizza and pour drinks. I took care of the lemonade. Best part was when I asked her what I owed for what I drank today, she told me $3.00! She got a very very good tip!!
I learned one thing serving these kids ... the words please and thank you are not in their vocabulary! Everything was " give me"!: Then there were their rude parents who knew this was for the kids, but helped themselves to the pizza too.:? Ended up that they ran out of pizza thanks to the parents. Next time the former teacher in me will make sure it's done differently!!! You can be sure of that.

PH - Good for Dennis to fix the AC. Do you put chlorine or bleach into the hose occasionally? AC people told us years ago to do that once in a while. It kills off the mold & mildew which is what clogs the hose. Since we learned it, we've never had it clog up!

Time to go find something for dinner. Bert ate earlier and is now watching the movie "300". Such a guy movie!!!!

Yup.we do bleach the lines,but maybe it was a little,too late......I know we could use a whole new ac unit,but that is not in my budget any time soon........maybe we'll move before it gives out...:lol

We just ate at Sam StJohn Seafood for dinner, then I dropped Dennis off at the truck..........headed back to the Keys.....

What rude parents you had there BB......no wonder the kids were the same way......

Let's see .....WHat's wrong with getting up at 6 A.M........well for one I'd be really sleepy and two I'd have to blend with the Friday traffic and third I"m NOT A MORNING PERSON!! That's enough reasons for me.

We went for a "Flashlite" walk and saw 1 Toad (big one) on the sidewalk and I got 4 mosquito bites. First ones this summer. :?

How do you all think I would look as a Redhead?? I think I am going to let my step sis put some color on my hair.....thinking a short spiffy cut & a nice reddish brown/ cinnamon color??? I noticed last night the grey is really starting to take over......

Ph, glad Dennis was able to fix the A/C...I would SO be giving the warranty company a piece of my mind!

BB, I think I would have developed a "hearing" problem when the brat's or their parents demanded something...it's a shame but we see it a lot even with the little ones in cubbies....they learn real fast though, they don't get ANYTHING with out please, thank you & yes maam!

Not giving the warranty people a hard time.....they are just gonna know the local ac company here wasnt very reliable....I have used the warranty about 5 times now and always been pleased.....

See K2....getting up at 6 would have given you 1 /2 more hours to sleep......

I dont understand why people lurk on here and never say anything............thats weird.......its like we are being spied on to see what we say....WHY??????

Going to town today.....Holly to groomer.....me to the mall.got a $10 coupon from Victoria secrets for my birthday...and need to get Dennis watch band fixed.....

Kasey: I think it's a TERRIFIC IDEA to get your "GREY OUT"!! I think you'd look great in a nice short spiffy haircut and that color sounds neat. Just remember to either keep getting it "colored" or ask her how you can keep it up YOURSELF. Nothing worse than seeing a woman walking around with GREY ROOTS growing out. YUK!! I have ERIC and we've already had breakfast and played around in the house. He's finally out of his PJ's and he's in the basement with Art right now. I need to get dressed and then the "FUN" begins......what to do next!! Hee Hee. Might actually take him to the DREAM CRUISE. (OLD CARS) They're expecting 1 million people to be at the cruise between today and Sunday! UNREAL. Maybe that's not a good place to go after all.

Well the CRUISE is OUT for today. Little Eric just came in with a "YELLOW-JACKET" BEE STING on the middle of his BACK!! : Poor little guy. He was taking his bike out of the garage and it got under his T-shirt and was trapped and did a good BITE job on him. He's behind me laying down right now. I put ICE on it and now it just has to run it's course. BUMMER!! Oh by the way......he won't put his shirt back on again!! Doesn't want another one to get up under it! SMART KID!! (tu) (takes after his Grandma)

Time for a quick post. I'm bucking K2 for Grandmother of the Year honors today! Already took Justin to school to meet his new teacher and to visit with his gifted teacher. She lives here too. In a little while I have to take Wesley back to school to meet his teachers and get his schedule for the year. Then later (around 5) we've got to go to Gary's house. Bert's helping him take out some plants around the pool and I have to watch the kids while they do it. They don't have a child guard on their pool even though they've lived in the house for over 4 years and we've been after them all this time to get one! OK ... so do I win?:lol
After they're finished taking out the plants, then it's off to the Grill for our Friday night gathering with friends.I'm going to be pi$$ed if everyone is gone by the time we get there!

KC - I bet a new "do" will make you feel like a new woman!

K2 - Poor Eric! Did you put mud on the sting? That usually helps take the pain & swelling away quickly.

Almost time for you working gals to head home!

Kasey: You're probably right about that Bee being ticked off at me and taking it out on Eric.
I'd go for the BIG CHANGE on the hair if I were you. You can always ask her how to keep it up or just go see her every 4 weeks. Just don't let the ROOTS grow out.....it's not a pretty sight!!

He's fine already. Playing down by the creek......which is a little dry right now.

BB: You running a good SECOND on that Grandma of the YEAR! Our kids don't start school until Sept 4th.....day after Labor Day. We had a VOTE last year in Michigan and it got changed from August something to the day after Labor Day because of all the Tourist money they were losing out on. It was ALWAYS after Labor Day when I was a kid and I'm glad they changed it. Not only for the teachers, but for the kids too.

BB you'll be READY for the GRILL after your busy day.

I think we're getting WINDS up here from DEAN!! It's been really windy today. Temps are in the 80's and Sunny, but windy. Suppose to rain tonight, but they've been telling us that for weeks.
