Wow... do you think I could have made those pictures any BIGGER! Sorry. And that wall switch that we have NEVER used is amazingly right under the darn picture. After awhile I don't even pay attention to it. Art said had he thought about when he was painting that wall he would have taken it out. I said and then it would "Somehow" always have a DRYWALL FIX shadow in that spot. When it gets too humid or cold etc, etc. It is what it is.
The pictures and the color of the wall look better in REAL LIFE. Ha ha.

Lee: Good to know you're getting a medic alert
bracelet . I have something like that. Jill bought it for both of us one year for Christmas. It has our name, emergency phone numbers on it and meds we are allergic to. You can barely see it, but it would be handy in case either of us passes out somewhere. They don't make one big enough for all the meds I take. Ha Ha.

Lee: I hope you get some better sleep tonight.

Pat: You do know that when you're on Steroids (
Prednisone) it does tend to interrupt your sleep! You can't win girl. You either have less lung congestion with Steroids or you get off of the steroids and sleep better. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to go to bed or get up!

Karen: I hope you didn't over due it RESTING today! LOL Just LOVE that pool table & Umbrella. :emoticon 0137 clapping:

Off to watch some TV. Can't go to bed too early or I'll be up at 1:00 am.

Morning Bunnies!

Guess I forgot to mention that Kathi has decided on how she wants the shed painted. She was trying to decide between a tan shed with trim accented in dark green, or going with a tan shed and only the double-doors painted green. She went for the tan shed with green on the trim. Good. That's what I was planning to do if she couldn't decide.

I've been running rather weak for the past few days, so the painting hasn't yet started. Maybe today or tomorrow. Kathi too will be painting, if for no other reason than to keep me off a ladder.

I've got lots of drop cloths, since I'm strict about NO paint drips on the cement and I want NO paint on the metal trim along the roof.

I see you're going to rehab today, Lee. So is it for drugs or alcohol this time?
1f61b.png
So what book were you reading early yesterday morning? I've no idea what kind of books trip your trigger.

How cool it would be to have a golf cart, BB. You could use it to buzz down to the Grille. And for a change, you could drive once in a while. (I wonder how terrified that would make Bert.)

Neat looking pictures K2. I can't say that I know anyone that has that see through style. Ya gonna post a picture of that crunched truck on here? Hope that cottage had a basement. Oh yea, excellent height to mount those frames. Most people put them too high on a wall. A relative who was an artist always said that they should be mounted, when you're standing in front of them, right where your eyes are dead center in the middle of the picture.

In your next pool pictures KC, I want to see some foo-foo drinks with little umbrellas in them on that nice table by the pool.

Good morning, gang! How's everybody doing today?

Kathie - Nice prints you've got there. Never seen them done that way before.
As far as the prednisone goes, that does not cause me to sleep less. What causes me to sleep less is a husband who snores like a roaring lion! Once he wakes me up, I try to get him to stop snoring and unfortunately, most nights it doesn't work. Thus I stay awake for the rest of the night.

Dave - No big rush to get the shed painted, so take it easy for a couple of days. Nice that Kathi will be the one to get up on the ladder. Better her than you with your leg problems.
How terrified would Bert be if I was driving a gulf cart? Not nearly as terrified as I am when Bert is driving a car. He's a very aggressive former NJ driver and he scares the he!! out of me or anyone else who is in the car with him.

Lee - I hope your rehab session goes well this morning. Good idea ordering that bracelet. Does Lu-Ann already have one? I hope so.

Yesterday ended up being a relatively quiet day for us. Elaine stopped by for a few minutes before it was time to see a client on the next block. While she was here, Jimmy arrived to load more into our garage, including their refrigerator and the food that had to go into the freezer once it got cold enough. After they were gone, it was a quiet day with out only outing to Publix to pick up some fresh fruit and veggies. Not sure when the family plans to arrive to stay for the next few months, so I wanted to make sure we had lots of fresh stuff to eat. Once they're here, everything I bought will get used up fast.

So far today the only thing I have on tap, aside from a load of laundry, is to make a pot of chicken noodle soup for a few days worth of lunches. That's what I have to get started on now. Dinner is still up in the air and depends on if M&J start staying here tonight. I think they both have to go back to work tomorrow, so guess who will have the kids? LOL

Have a wonderful day, everyone. Be good. Stay safe. :)

Good Afernoon Wrabbits.

Nothing going on over here. Art is biking. I was watching some of the HEARINGS on TV and just can't imagine how anybody in Washington can DENY or not want to accept that horrible things happened on Jan 6th. "Just tourist walking within the roped area". Yeah, right. What a &^%&( sick world we live in is all I can say.

DAVE said:
Hope that cottage had a basement. This cottage is something like 85-90 yrs old. Not many basements on a lake. Sure it's been fixed up to have a INDOOR TOILET and running water in the kitchen, but the framework is original. It's had siding put on the outside and of course the roof shingles have been changed out a few times too. It has 2 bedrooms, a room in the attic space a bathroom (no shower, you go in the lake if you stay up there long enough to have to take a bath) a kitchen and eating area and nice size living room and enclosed porch. All of these things developed and were upgraded through the decades by family members.
It's cozy and doesn't smell like some old cottages do. I just wouldn't want to be in it when a 100 mph Tornado decided to pass through the area. :emoticon 0106 crying:

DAVE........I like your painting RULES. NO paint on the cement or metal trim. Please stay off the ladder. And just do a little and rest. You don't need to get that paint job done in one day. Not worth it for your legs.

Pat: I'm going to add you and Bert to my nightly prayers. I think it's the nicest thing I can do for you guys for the next few months. I'm thinking more than a few months! Just don't over do it with all your cooking and fussing. It gets old fast and you'll burn out. ASK FOR HELP.

Lee: Hope your rehab went well today. Does it start out with everyone saying:
"HELLO, MY NAME IS .......... and I have.........etc, etc? :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

Karen: Hope you're having a good day girl. I'm sure you have a screwdriver or hammer in your hand right about now.

Later gang.........Be SAFE.

Good morning. Whew, it’s already warm and that big old sun is just coming up.
It’s a good plan if you’re feeling a tad wobbly to stay off the ladder Dave. Hmmm smart guy. If you’re wobbly maybe you should come to rehab with me…I spend more time taping and protecting areas when I paint. That’s another reason I use really good paint. Less splatter.

Seems I started this earlier today and then went out! I’m such a putz sometimes.

Kathie, you’re lucky if you can get a grunt out of some of the people in my class. A shame really. It ticks me off when somebody grabs one of the elliptical machines and doesn’t use it properly. I see Jen Psaki says there’s no time frame to reopen the US border to outsiders because of the climbing numbers due to the Delta variant. I’d be closing our border back out to keep the virus out!
Pat, I used to snore and roar like a lion too. Lu-Ann got (convinced / begged) me to try those strips that go on your nose and promise to cut down on snoring. I did and they did their job. As I became a little more fit I didn’t need them anymore. Just a thought. I have asked Lu-Ann about a medic alert for her but it’s a case of do what I say not what I do.
It was a full class of 12 “rehabers” today. With every other piece of equipment blocked off it does make it tricky. I do the treadmill and bike at home so the other piece of equipment would be better for me. After class I grabbed a coffee and headed to the garage to have the cooling system serviced. They didn’t hook up things properly and coolant was spraying everywhere. The had to power wash the entire engine bay to get the excess coolant off the motor and all of the other stuff under the hood. Such donkeys!
I better get the pups out. Then I can look at tonight’s recipe - One Pot Mexican Quinoa and Black Beans with a cilantro lime crema!
Stay safe and be happy! :D

Twice today I thought it was SUNDAY. Once when I was talking to a fellow choir member who was checking up on me. At the end of the conversation she repeated that it was TUESDAY! We both laughed. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Lee: You need to get to the Rehab class early and grab that Elliptical machine first! Were you able to get on it at all? Hope so.
Bummer on your VEHICLE getting sprayed with coolant. Hope they got it all off. Did you ask them for a discount for doing that to your van?? I didn't think so.

I just got on here to print off a coupon for ART to take with him when he gets his vehicle's oil changed tomorrow. I asked him if he had a coupon and he said NOPE.... I just need a oil change. Usually the coupons come in the mail from the place he goes to. I came to the rescue and found one for $10 bucks off online. Printed it off and now just need to PIN IT ON HIS T-SHIRT so he remembers to take with him. Hey, $10 bucks is a good savings.

Out of here for tonight. Hope our girl KAREN fell asleep relaxing and just didn't make it here today! :emoticon 0140 rofl:

Time to rock & roll, Bunnies.

Another sunny and toasty day today, so we'll be heading out in a bit before it gets too toasty. We got the first coat of the tan paint on one side of the shed yesterday morning. All brush work. Today it'll be another side. This paint is a mix of primer and paint.

When we came inside yesterday Kathi got a call asking her to babysit 2 granddaughters while their mom went to the doctor's office. Sure. Turns out that she has got shingles. That can't be fun. I've been vaccinated for it, but I didn't know you have to be 50 to get that vaccine. Any of you that's gotten shingles?

Hard to believe that that cottage doesn't have an old cottage smell, K2. Sounds like a neat place, except for what it takes to get a bath or shower. And yes, I did stay off the ladder yesterday.

BB; It's funny that Bert's driving terrifies you. Kathi's driving does the same to me. She's a tailgater and waits till the last second to hit the brakes. Being behind the wheel of a truck hauling thousands of gallons of gas or diesel for years I always start slowing down early and never tailgate. Kathi may think I drive like an old man, but that's how I got this old.
1f601.png
Sounds like the M&J herd are part of your house now. How are their dogs dealing with this change?

Yes Lee, sometimes prepping an area takes longer than the actual painting. But the attention to detail makes all the difference. OOPS on that coolant spraying everywhere, and needing to be cleaned up. Did they ever get around to actually charging up your car's air conditioning system?

Put down your hammer KC and pick up your keyboard and let us know what you are up to.

Time for a light breakfast before I head out. Sure hope the lawn crew doesn't show up early.

Good morning.
Dogs are fed, dogs are walked, dogs teeth are brushed, front lawn is cut, breakfast is eaten and I’ll be dropping Lu-Ann at Gail’s so they can go to ”Cindy’s” a store of interest to them in Kingsville. About 30 minutes west. Me, I’m going grocery shopping.
Kathie, I guess I’m just too Canadian to tell a couple of the behemoths that plonk their arses on the elypticals and just sit there that they could do that on a stationary bike. I do arrive early but we have warm up exercises before we start. The kinesiologists take our blood pressure and heart rate before we can use the equipment. It depends where they start and where you’re sitting as to how quickly you can get to a piece of equipment. The guy at the oil place offered me a 1/2 price transmission service which I politely (too Canadian) declined. I did complete the satisfaction survey so we’ll see if I hear back…Good on finding that coupon for Art’s oil change.
Like most things Dave, spending time on the prep work saves time in the long run. Good idea using the primer / paint combo. At least everything with the heat and cooling in the van seems to be working properly. I had about nine weeks of passengering before I could drive after my heart thing. I think that made me a better driver. ‘Nuff said about those harrowing experiences…
I’ll pop by later to check up on the rest of you.
Keep those masks handy if you’re out and about!

Wednesday Hump Day GIF by Chippy the Dog

Good MID-MORNING WRABBITS. Felt good to get up at 7:03 a.m. (nature calling) and then actually fall back asleep again until 8:40 a.m. WOW like that doesn't happen often enough! :emoticon 0140 rofl:

Okay here it goes......my Bunny medical career information: Ha Ha, you all knew I'd jump on this chance.

DAVE: Never had shingles, but my mothers dear friend did. It was painful as all get out.
Here's what I found on spreading shingles from one to another. Thought Kathi needs to be careful.
And I'm guessing it's the DIL with all the kids? NERVES can attribute to shingles. Hope she gets some good meds and can get over this fast.

How is shingles spread from person to person?

A person with shingles can spread the virus when the rash is in the blister-phase. The blister fluid is filled with virus particles. The virus is spread through direct contact with the rash or through breathing in virus particles that get mixed in the air.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Shingles is indeed contagious, but it can only be spread to people who haven't yet had chickenpox, or the chickenpox vaccine. In these cases, the shingles virus typically spreads via direct contact with the opened blisters of your rash.

Sounds like the Paint Job is moving right along. Why is this a BRUSH job and not a ROLLER job? Is the wood that "rough finish type"?

I'm very THANKFUL every time we are at the cottage that it DOESN'T have that old cottage smell. It's been well taken care of and gets a lot of live-in action. That being said the windows are open more often than most cottages. If it was my own cottage I would be there from June thru September. It has 2 window A/C units now, it could be bearable in the Summer heat.

Now about our partners in life driving habits.
I can't stand Art's driving. He is like Kathi Allen.........waits until the last minute to slow down. Never anticipates what cars are doing. I tend to look AHEAD and when I see a car is turning into a driveway of a business or somewhere I know the car in front of me is going to be slowing down so I know to back-off a tad on the gas. I don't have to put my BRAKES ON, but I at least am not on top of the car in front of me. I do drive too fast at times, but never tailgate.
If we take my car to places I do the driving. Sometimes I think Art does his weird driving just so he doesn't have to do the driving.
I guess when you have 2 cars you get very independent and can't adjust to other folks driving.
The worse kind of driver to me is the "on and off the GAS PEDAL" driver. Makes me want to
big brother puke GIF
!!

Karen: Hope you're doing well girl.

Pat: Did you take down the "ROOMS FOR RENT" sign yet? Amazing that all the things Jimmy has brought over actually fit in your garage. Once they move everything out to the new house Bert should try and just park the car inside since the space will be available.
Try keeping your meals simple. Don't wear yourself out.

Out of here for now. Not sure what's on the agenda! Knee is doing much better the last few days. It still seems to swell up by the end of the afternoon, but using the ICE pack gizmo works wonders. It's nothing like it was BEFORE I wrecked it, but as long as it doesn't hurt and I walk more carefully it's going to have to do.

Good morning, everyone, and welcome to hump day. Like that means anything to this group anymore, right? I look forward to Wednesdays though, as that's the day the new Aldi's ads come out and it's also the day we find out what the specials at the Grille will be this week. I do have priorities!!! LOL

Kathie - Good job finding that coupon for the oil change. We have a new place that just opened near us and they too had a coupon, but did Bert go there? NOOO ... He'd rather go to the place where he has to pay full price about a mile away from the other place. He also was back at that place this morning for the mechanic to once again check out the power steering and once again there was nothing they could find wrong with it.

Dave - Back when we used to paint rooms in the house ourselves, we taped everything also. Painters now don't do that and they are much sloppier as they paint. Glad that you're taking your time doing the shed.

Lee - Sorry you aren't getting a chance to use the ellipticals and you're too polite to ask them to get off. When I was in the pulmonary rehab, people would not only ask you to get off something, if you weren't using it. They would also ask how much longer are you going to be using it, as they wanted it next. See- we're not polite here!!
I had suggested those Breathe Right strips to Bert many times, but he just refuses to give them a try. I have found that the more weight he gains, the louder he gets. The snoring never used to wake me up, but it sure does now.

Anyone could break into our house during the night and we wouldn't even know it. Case in point, we didn't know M&J and the kids stayed here Monday night. They came in after we went to bed and left before we got up Tuesday morning. We did notice a few things had changed, like the number of bananas Bert had just bought and a towel was hanging on the shower door. We figured we were getting confused. They came back last night also, but this time I knew they were coming. Jimmy had to go to work today and Missy still has more stuff to pack. The dogs have not yet arrived, but will by the weekend at the latest.

Time to get a few things done around here while things are quiet. Not sure if we have anywhere to go today or if I just get to relax. I'd really like that better as I'm trying to finish reading a book that will be due back at the library in a few days.

Take care, gang, and for sure start wearing the mask again. :)

Shopping trip complete and successful! A couple of things were on sale so if I could freeze them I bought two. If they had a long expiry date I bought two. Yard trimming is done. Laundry is on.
I didn't want to try the nose thingies at first Pat but I did and to my surprise they didn't bother me at all. Not to mention Lu-Ann got a good night's sleep. I too, well Lu-Ann to be more precise, noticed that if I gained a couple of extra pounds the snoring got worse. On that note since my release from "The Resort at London University Hospital" I have lost 25 pounds! Some was hospital weight from all the fluids but it's still encouraging for me.
It does tick me off that some people seem to be at rehab because it's a place to go. Of the 12 folks there yesterday there were about eight of us who were really working hard for the whole hour. I think that the kinesiologists should have cattle prods and if you're on a piece of equipment and "resting" they can give you a jolt to get you "moo"ving. Dogs? How's that gonna work with Cappi?
I neglected to answer Dave on the shingles question. I had a mild case on my ear. I wasn't allowed to go to work just incase I held the phone to my infected ear. My Dad had one of the worst cases of shingles the doctor had ever seen. God rest him, like most things, he never complained about them.
I tend to look ahead, behind and beside when I drive Kathie. I can anticipate, slow as needed or change lanes safely if required. Back when I took my drivers test on a very snowy January day I had a car start to spin in front of me. I gently backed off the gas and stirred for where the car ahead was when it started to spin. Why? Because that's where he was and that's where the space would be by the time I got there. The test guy said that at that moment I passed.
Karen?

Well good evening all! I guess I've gotten so good at relaxing that I seem to forget to check in here in a timely manner...and if you believe that I have some ocean front property in Arizona you might be interested in!

Dave, glad to hear the shed painting is progressing well...I'm more of a sling it on, clean it up later kind of painter...I've tried taping things off & being super careful but I always seem to end up with a mess no matter what I do...

Pat, and so the invasion begins!! Lord Bless you & Bert for helping out the way you are....and fingers crossed...Prayers sent their house gets done early...or at least on time!

Lee, sorry you are having to deal with such inconsiderate boobs at rehab...I think the therapists need to pay a little more attention & keep people moving...
Sounds like one heck of a mess with your car repair...hopefully all is well now!!
Kathie, your pictures look really nice & I love that wall color!! Good for you on finding a coupon for Art's oil change...I had one for mine today...save $15 off a $40 or more invoice....so my $43 oil change ended up being only $28 and I got a free car wash!!

No building projects going on at the moment..yesterday morning I went over to Barb's to do some yard work for her....every year there are these stupid creeping vine weeds that go up her power & cable pole...if I don't get them down they will grow over the wire & onto her trailer...the park SHOULD take care of that since she pay's them to mow her lot...but they never do...so I hacked away at them again & got it cleaned up...then I went to Jane's...jumped in the pool to cool off for a little bit & then mowed her back yard...after that she fed me lunch & then Barb came over to swim for a bit....just as we were about ready to get out we the the heck scared out of us...I was going over to put down the umbrella when all of a sudden FLASH/CRACK there was a lightning strike it seemed right in front of her house...you never saw 2 fat people & 1 old person scramble so fast in your life! I'm thinking here we are in a big round metal bowl full of water...this is not good! And the thing is there were no real storm looking clouds around & had been no thunder or anything else before that one big flash...
After I got my oil change & truck wash today I went mattress shopping...I've been wanting a new mattress for a long time & finally bit the bullet...found one that felt pretty comfy so went ahead & ordered it...supposed to be here by Aug. 14th...for an extra $40 they deliver, set up the new set & haul the old set away...I decided it was well worth the money!
Got a couple hours in at the clubhouse pool today...some of the poolies were there so I got caught up on most of the neighborhood gossip....and that ladies & gents is about all that is happening in Belleview...tomorrow morning I'm going to go mow Jane's front yard...I was going to do it yesterday but it really hasn't grown that much...Enjoy your evening all!

Yep...still on the HOA board for 2 more years...we've got a good group of people on the board so it's been relatively painless so far....the one lady who's term is up this year has already said she's willing to stay on so that makes it nice.....
Checking out for the night...it rumbled here all afternoon but no rain other than a few sprinkles...if we don't get a nice rain soon I'm going to have to water the grass again & I sure don't want to have to do that...Night all!

Checking out from Pure Michigan.

Karen thanks for the FANTASTIC post.

Lee All the best for Katie's dental surgery tomorrow.

I'll catch up with the rest of you tomorrow. (THURSDAY)

We're suppose to get Strong Winds and rain from 3 A.M. thru 8a.m. Just in time to not have to water the grass. The Mushrooms are going to be growing.

We have a ANIMAL that picks off our Cukes and GREEN Tomatoes and bites into them and then leaves them. Doesn't like them. ^&*(^$# I'm thinking it's the Black Squirrel that doesn't belong here. Hoping that Katie's dental procedure goes well, Lee. Anytime they have to knock a dog out for a procedure means there's going to be a big withdrawal from your wallet. Sucks that so many people use a gym as a place just to socialize and get in the way of people that take their workout seriously.

Thanks for the information on shingles, K2. I never knew that it was so contagious. The mother with just 2 daughters is the one that got it. As far as our paint job, it's a "brush job" because it has a rough finish. Kathi did try a roller on it, which was a total failure. At times when painting it just feels like you are scrubbing the paint into the surface. It sure tears the hell out of the brushes. Two sides done now with the first coat of tan paint. Today it's suppose to rain, so that job is on hold till Friday.

You were mentioning coupons.....We buy a lot of stuff from a local mom & pop hardware store. And they sell really good paint. By chance, when Kathi went there on Tuesday for another gallon of paint a fella mentioned that he was a veteran and they told him that on Tuesdays they give veterans a discount. We never knew that. So on that one gallon of paint she saved us $9.

BB; You are going to drive yourself into the ground if you are a cook on call for everyone. If you don't know when or if they are coming to your house for the night, in my book it's on them to fix something to eat whenever they arrive. They aren't living at a Denny's.

Hey KC, I'm still waiting for you to send me the title of the house you sold me in Arizona with the ocean-view.
1f601.png
I'm so happy to see you guys are getting some use out of that new pool. (Except for that surprise lightening.) What a deal you got for just $40 to deliver and set up the new mattress and haul away the old one. I don't know about you, but I sure got sticker-shock when we recently purchased a new mattress.

Not much planned for today. Picking up groceries around 10. My mouth is already watering waiting to eat a piece of frozen Marie Callender's mini Key lime pie. They sell them in a small box of just 2 pieces. Just the right amount. One for Kathi and one for me.

SOOO TASTY!

Good morning.
Man
plans. God laughs. Katie had her first pill in preparation for today's dental with her dinner last night. About 4 hours later she was a sick as could be. The only thing that changed was the pill. We held off on this morning's pill. We got to the vet at 8:15 and spoke to Dr. Quinn. She felt it best to put off the dental until she (Dr. Quinn) had a chance to see if there was anything else that we might be able to give Katie to prevent the bleeding Greyhounds are famous for after dentals that involve extractions! So there you have it.
Yes Dave, the bill was (will be?) anywhere between $1000 and $1400. I guess the good news is that includes taxes. Did you try a thicker pile roller on the shed? Nice that you caught a break on the paint price too! I do love a good Key Lime pie. My favourite aside from the one I make is the Key Lime Pie at Blue Heaven in Key West.
We've had showers off and on Kathie. then the sun comes out in between. Perfect formula for the thunder storms they are calling fo throughout the day. I hope that you're not "profiling" that squirrel when it could be any other little critter. Like a cute little bunny or something.
Glad to hear that you have a good group on the HOA Karen. That makes it easier to deal with issues when everyone is level headed and gets along.
I'm waiting to hear back from the heart institute. According to the results my family doctor received my monitor indicates that my heart is still in A-Fib. I called the cardiologist at the heart institute and am hoping to hear back. I reckon the cardiologist at the rehab place would only catch the irregularities if they happened to be acting up when he listened to my heart.
As our Kathie wail say..."Always something"
You all have great day and in light of the increased numbers, especially in Florida, keep those masks on and be safe please!
