Bellalago Belle
2nd Officer
Good morning, gang! How's it going this morning with all you bunnies? Sounds like some of you have things to do today, while others are totally free of things that have to get done. We're in that last category today!!
We don't even have to watch the kids all day as Jimmy's cousin from Alabama is still here and is on her way to pick up the kids to take them swimming at the hotel they are staying at plus other stuff. Then they will meet M&J at the rental to finish cleaning out the rest of their stuff. They didn't get back here until after 11 last night. Seems like said cousin took them to this place called Mr & Mrs Crab for a seafood boil dinner. To said it was pricy is putting it mildly. Heck, they probably brought home close to $100. in leftovers for tonight. That means I still don't have to make dinner for them. I'm loving that idea!!
Karen - Your experience yesterday with the t&l that came out of nowhere sounds like a similar experience we had up in Ocala one day. It was a beautiful bright day and out of nowhere there was a flash and an immediate BOOM! It set off our fire alarms both at our house and Bert's mother's house. Turned out that a tree next to our house got struck. It caused a couple of thousand dollars worth of damage at our house, including taking out the whole intercom system, all the plugs and light in the pool, and our telephones and security system. Definitely not a fun time. At that time we had an outside dog who didn't do much beside eat and sleep. We called him "Lightening" because he moved so slow, but not on that day. He hauled butt into the woods behind our house and wouldn't come out for almost a week, except to eat, of course.
Lee - Sorry Katie's dental procedure had to be postponed, but sounds like your vet knows what she is doing, so that's good. I hope you don't get too much rain today and are able to get out of the house for a little while at least. Now tell that heart of yours to quiet down and behave.
Kathie - Your comment about the Black Squirrels definitely sounds racist, especially when you say they should only be in a certain area. Did you ever think it might just be the squirrels that live locally? You're beginning to sound like a repub!!! LOL
I hope you don't get too many more mushrooms from all the rain. We got some just last week in our front of the house. Used to get some really different kinds up in Ocala, including "fairy circles" and ones that looked like and were colored like a sombrero! Those were really neat to find after a lot of rain.
Dave - We love key lime pie around here too. For what they charge for one in Publix, I could buy all the needed stuff to make a couple of pies, which I do when I'm in the mood. They're always a big hit with the family.
Don't worry about me driving myself into the ground cooking for the masses. That's not going to happen. I like to prep the ingredients for a meal at my own pace earlier in the day and then just have to put it all together when we're ready to eat. First meal I will make for the gang is Cajun shrimp and sausage with veggies baked in the oven. Lots of slicing that gets done earlier in the day. Then I just have to season it all, put it on a couple of sheet pans and stick it in the oven. My kind of meal!
Jimmy's cousin is just arriving, so I better get off the computer and visit with them for a bit. Have a great day, everyone, and DEFINITELY WEAR YOUR MASK!
