Return of the Cruising Bunny's....

Good morning, gang! How's it going this morning with all you bunnies? Sounds like some of you have things to do today, while others are totally free of things that have to get done. We're in that last category today!!
We don't even have to watch the kids all day as Jimmy's cousin from Alabama is still here and is on her way to pick up the kids to take them swimming at the hotel they are staying at plus other stuff. Then they will meet M&J at the rental to finish cleaning out the rest of their stuff. They didn't get back here until after 11 last night. Seems like said cousin took them to this place called Mr & Mrs Crab for a seafood boil dinner. To said it was pricy is putting it mildly. Heck, they probably brought home close to $100. in leftovers for tonight. That means I still don't have to make dinner for them. I'm loving that idea!!

Karen - Your experience yesterday with the t&l that came out of nowhere sounds like a similar experience we had up in Ocala one day. It was a beautiful bright day and out of nowhere there was a flash and an immediate BOOM! It set off our fire alarms both at our house and Bert's mother's house. Turned out that a tree next to our house got struck. It caused a couple of thousand dollars worth of damage at our house, including taking out the whole intercom system, all the plugs and light in the pool, and our telephones and security system. Definitely not a fun time. At that time we had an outside dog who didn't do much beside eat and sleep. We called him "Lightening" because he moved so slow, but not on that day. He hauled butt into the woods behind our house and wouldn't come out for almost a week, except to eat, of course.

Lee - Sorry Katie's dental procedure had to be postponed, but sounds like your vet knows what she is doing, so that's good. I hope you don't get too much rain today and are able to get out of the house for a little while at least. Now tell that heart of yours to quiet down and behave.

Kathie - Your comment about the Black Squirrels definitely sounds racist, especially when you say they should only be in a certain area. Did you ever think it might just be the squirrels that live locally? You're beginning to sound like a repub!!! LOL
I hope you don't get too many more mushrooms from all the rain. We got some just last week in our front of the house. Used to get some really different kinds up in Ocala, including "fairy circles" and ones that looked like and were colored like a sombrero! Those were really neat to find after a lot of rain.

Dave - We love key lime pie around here too. For what they charge for one in Publix, I could buy all the needed stuff to make a couple of pies, which I do when I'm in the mood. They're always a big hit with the family.
Don't worry about me driving myself into the ground cooking for the masses. That's not going to happen. I like to prep the ingredients for a meal at my own pace earlier in the day and then just have to put it all together when we're ready to eat. First meal I will make for the gang is Cajun shrimp and sausage with veggies baked in the oven. Lots of slicing that gets done earlier in the day. Then I just have to season it all, put it on a couple of sheet pans and stick it in the oven. My kind of meal!

Jimmy's cousin is just arriving, so I better get off the computer and visit with them for a bit. Have a great day, everyone, and DEFINITELY WEAR YOUR MASK! :)

Good Afternoon gang.

Dave: I figured the shed was rough sawed wood finish. Just use up all your OLD brushes that you saved for God knows what reason! Ha Ha. Then throw them away. Look for sales at Sherwin Williams for new ones. They have 40% off sales a couple or three times a year. Great time to stock up on rollers and brushes if you think you'll have paint projects in the future.

DAVE POSTED: BB; You are going to drive yourself into the ground if you are a cook on call for everyone. If you don't know when or if they are coming to your house for the night, in my book it's on them to fix something to eat whenever they arrive. They aren't living at a Denny's.
I'm going out on the limb, but I have to totally agree with his post.
Might have been nice of somebody to call and let you know they weren't going to be around for dinner. Okay, enough from the Peanut Gallery! I don't need to get in any trouble today! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

The BLACK SQUIRREL, if it went back to the area it's normally in, would be in the RICH AREA of the EAST SIDE. Grosse Pointe. So actually it would be a UPGRADE from running around in our neighborhood! We're just "middle class" folks around here. Not UPPER CLASS. Ha Ha.
Not a racist bone in my body. Black people have suffered enough through the decades and don't need me adding to their continued grief. :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

Seems like the jerks in Washington are finally meeting halfway with that latest Bill that got passed. I'm not sure it's totally a done deal yet, but it sounds hopeful.

The House today passed, on a bipartisan 215 to 207 vote, the 2022 Legislative Branch funding bill. The legislation provides annual funding for the Congress, the Capitol Police, and other Legislative Branch agencies.

Lee: Give Katie a extra hug from me. Feel bad that the pill that was suppose to help things made her sick. Good call to postpone the procedure for now.
Sorry you're having continued issues with the AFib. Hopefully they will figure out what's going on with that ASAP. Meanwhile just take a deep BREATH.

Karen: YIKES......that Thunder & Lightning had to be scary, especially while you all were in the POOL! We had reports of that last week around here when the HUMIDITY and temps were in the high 95's. Our weather person on Channel 7 gave a good explanation of it. Sounds just like what you had happen over your way.

I think we have LOST BILL & RITA. I see Bill post on Facebook so he must have internet access. Bummer since it's always nice to hear from others in this group as to what they're up to. Also to share tips, etc, etc. Bill.... if you're lurking and reading along please take the time to drop us a few lines and let us know what you and Rita are up to these days. Book any cruises yet??

LEE: I called Starbucks customer service line (what a trip that is to get through to a real person) to ask why I didn't receive my 100 Stars for a promotion I completed. Well, she checked and explained why and then gave me the 100 Stars and when I checked my phone App there were 200 new STARS put on my card. WOW..... for the first time ever I have over 1,000 stars. I started saving STARS so I could buy a few MUGS (like we need more mugs around here) but they don't have anything in stock since Covid took over. I'm just going to start using the STARS for my GRANDE drinks w/extra shots! You can get the biggest drink and they still only take the same amount of Stars from you account. It would be silly to ask for a "SMALL"! HaHa.

Later gang. I made up some dough early this morning for Butter Toffee Refrigerator Slice cookies. It's time to cut them and bake them. New recipe.........hope it tastes good. Suppose to be like a Shortbread type cookie. The Toffee chips in it will just make it twice as good!

Seeing as Katie was at home with Bear and Ava we headed up to the mall. Lu-Ann wanted to get some delicate lady’s under things. No luck unless she wanted “butt floss for Bambi’s”. We headed to Costco to look for a kitchen light which we found at a good price. We also found a Ninja Air Fryer (damn you Dave and Karen!) that was a full $120 cheaper than the same model at another retailer. That came home too. It has two baskets and can do a number of things including having the dishes from each basket finish together.
Now, my question to Karen and Dave…how would you like me to split the cost between you? I’m guessing 50 / 50. :p
I have to say that Starbucks does treat their customers right Kathie. Good deal on getting the stars sorted out. Maybe the squirrels just want to see how the other half lives.
Sheet pan meals are popular on our one food box service Pat. I like that I can toss everything in a bowl, season it, dump it out on to a parchment lined sheet, pop it in the oven and in a little while dinner is ready! By the way, one of the recipes with the Ninja Gizmo…seafood boil!
Guess I better get the ladder and get to work on the light. Or get my butt on the bike and / or treadmill.
I see “The Mouse” is bringing back face masks to his “magic” Kingdom. A good rule of thumb for all of us. Stay safe folks.

Lee - You cracked me up with that description of the undies that were available. I just couldn't imagine wearing anything like that, even back in my younger days!

Guys, don't get your panties, or butt floss for Bambi in a twist. I am not going to be stupid with the type of meals I will be making. Some are sheet pan variety, but many are made in a casserole pan. No problem. Plus Missy and Jimmy will be making some stuff also, My thing that causes me problems with M&J is that they like low carb and keto type meals. I like lots of carbs, especially pasta in any shape or form. Only thing I would have to do is microwave some veggies for them to go along with whatever pasta I may be making. No sweat there. I have no major meals planned, even for Thanksgiving, should they still be here - honey baked ham is a wonderful thing!!

We ended up getting chicken wings and salads last night from Publix and still have enough for dinner tonight. I don't expect the other crew to get here until very late once again as they are still doing some last minute packing and trashing what they aren't taking. Jimmy's cousin's husband was taking Jimmy's boat to their neighbor for storage for right now. He's also mowing the 5 acres while his wife does a final cleaning of both bathrooms and the kitchen floor and counters. I sure am glad they are here, as there's no way Bert & I could have handled this kind of stuff.

I was planning to be nice and treat Bert to a beer and snack at the Grille when they opened at 4, but the weather had other ideas. Rain has moved in and it will continue for the next several hours. Tomorrow the Grille opens at 12, so maybe I'll treat him to lunch instead. I'm not crazy about most of the specials this week, but I do like a chicken parm sandwich on a hoagie roll. That works for me!!

So I see by the clock on the oven that's it's almost happy hour here. Guess this will be an indoor happy hour, as the rains continue lightly. Cheers, gang!!:smiley20::beer2::emoticon 0136 giggle:

FYI: The Butter Toffee Refrig Cookies were horrible. HARD AS A ROCK and not much taste even with the Toffee bits in them. If Art hadn't walked in the door when I was pulling them out of the oven I would have tossed them in the sink-grinder! (Yes, I do that when "I" don't like something.
Just a good thing I didn't waste too many good ingredients on these cookies. I put them in a Tupperware container in hopes of them getting softer. I WARNED Art that he better not bite into these with his front teeth. I had him dip one in his coffee and it took awhile for it to absorb any liquid. The recipe got torn up and thrown in the trash which gets picked up tomorrow! LOL :emoticon 0137 clapping: I wish the cookies could go with it.

PAT: Somehow I see Jimmy's boat being hooked up to your dock in the near future! :emoticon 0100 smile: If that happens at least the dock will be put to good use!

Thank goodness for Jimmy's cousin coming to the rescue these past few days.
Do you know if the landlord has another RENTER for the place yet? And how are things going behind them lately where they ripped out all the trees?

Any bets on just when M&J will be moving into their new house?? I need to see a few more update pictures before I place my bet! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:

Lee: Nice description of PANTIES! LOL. And you need a AIR FRYER like a hole in the head. Get a 3x5 card and attach it to the lid of the new Fryer and write down the date when you use it and what you made. It would be nice to get a picture of just how many times it gets dragged out to be used! I wish I knew somebody who had one of those things so I could borrow it and see how chicken, etc turns out in it. Let us know for sure.
Did you get that Kitchen light up yet? Need to post what it looks like when you do.

DAVE needs to post a picture of the NEW SHED too! We love pictures on this thread.

Off to get dinner on the table. Man that gets old! Everyday, week after week, month after month, year after year, decade after decade! Ha ha.

Well bless you Lee for getting an air fryer. Looks like I get another commission check from Ninja.

Sorry to hear that Katie's dental procedure had to be delayed. YIKES on the price of it.

All that damage in Ocala when lightening struck a tree next to your house cost you a pretty penny. Hope your insurance picked up most of it. After you and Lee's comments on butt-floss underthings I tried to imagine you in them. Just couldn't get my mind all the way there.

Sorry the the butter-toffee cookies came out so bad, K2. But, you are smarter now. KNOWING never to make them again. It would be sad to me if Bill and Rita moved on from us Bunnies. But some people just aren't happy if they don't get a large audience like they get on Facebook. And yes, Kathi will be posting a before & after picture of the new shed once it's finished being painted.

Speaking of which; I'll be out there by myself this morning painting. Kathi has a 9 AM hair appointment. I've asked her to question the beautician to see if she's familiar with any of these organizations that make wigs for kids with people's ponytails.

Step #1 on my painting; Drag a long extension cord out to the back yard so I can listen to my tunes on the boom-box.

Good Morning Wrabbits! 65F here right now and SUNNY! No humidity and No rain! Feels like the first week of FALL. :emoticon 0102 bigsmile: I still remember when I was a kid and August came around it was like you wanted to pack all you could into the next 4 weeks before SUMMER was Over and school started. Whew......... glad I don't have to worry about going back to school! And FALL is a nice transition season. Then the ugly WINTER comes. I know some of the Northerners get all excited about that "FIRST WHITE SNOW", but to me I just wish it never happened!

PAT & Karen: How's it feel to be on National TV with the HIGHEST DAILY RATE of COVID cases? Yup, I didn't think you liked it much. And then there's your Governor getting up to the microphone screaming that KIDS WILL NOT have to wear Masks in school. We all know that when school age kids go BACK TO SCHOOL they all get COLDS because they're in close contact with each other AFTER BEING AWAY from 28-30 kids in a closed room. Can you even imagine the variety of GERMS that they will have to face this school-year. I wish them all the best.

PAT.......have the M&J gang moved into your house yet? How many dogs did you say they have coming to join you? I'm thinking that Cappi is not going to like that much at all.

DAVE: Good for you dragging out the TUNES BOX to help you get through your painting job.
Refresh my memory. Did you ALREADY get your PONYTAIL CUT OFF or are you still waiting to do that. I'll be honest I forgot. I'm thinking it's a done job and you NEVER POSTED A PICTURE.

Karen: Wishing you a good day girl. Hope you can just kick back and enjoy your friends at the pool. How have all your Kitties been. I bet GOOD, since you haven't mentioned any issues lately. Any folks selling their condos in there lately. With prices going UP I bet they're getting a nice chunk of change. Your area is SO NICE and PRIVATE.

LEE: So what are you and Lu-Ann going to make in your new Air-Fryer?
How's Katie feeling today? Hopefully better than yesterday. Did she have teeth removed before or was that BEAR?

Enjoying my coffee while typing away here on the BIG WIDE ANGLE Monitor. Love this huge screen. Still wish I knew how to navigate Windows 10. I'm about ready to buy the WINDOW 10 for idiots book at Costco or a used one at Barnes & Nobles used book area. I save pictures and somehow they are NOT in the "Pictures" folder. I'd like to know where the heck some of the stuff ends up. Still wish I had Windows 7 on here, but it was just so outdated and slow.

Speaking of COFFEE.......... we are totally out of Coffee BEANS! We have enough ground in our little jar for ONE MORE POT. I usually buy a 2-Pack from Costco online of one we like, but forgot! DUH! Might have to go for a drive to the Coffee Roasters close to Jill's house to buy some to get us by until I get a order in. I could use all my Starbuck Stars to buy a bag of their coffee beans, but it's much nicer to use those for Latte's and Frappuccino's.

Today will be PAY BILLS ONLINE DAY . Be back later gang.

Good morning, everyone! So far it's a beautiful day here, but we all know that can change in a minute in Florida.

Lee - We have friends that have one of those super duper Ninja air fryers. They use theirs 3 to 4 times each week for lunches or dinners. They love it!

Kathie - Right now M&J's house is in a wait period. Roof is on with insulation in place. They are WAITING for the mission tiles to be delivered, as is the house next door. They only have so many people who are able to install these tiles and right now they are all working in the community. Once the tiles get there, they will be put on the roof in piles which will be left that way for a week or two in order for the house to "settle" under that weight. Once that happens and the tiles are installed, it will be time for windows and the start of the work inside. Time line still calls for end of November.
The boat Jimmy has is the one he had here before. It needs a lot of work which I have no idea when he will ever find time to do. It's now covered with a tarp and may remain that way for a l-o-n-g time.
Their dogs are a black lab pup less than a year old and a lab/shepherd mix. They will not be allowed to roam the house all day. Both have crates and will be in them unless Jimmy takes them for a walk. Cappi won't really have any interaction with them.

Dave - We were lucky up there in Ocala as our insurance company did pick up the bulk of the cost of damages, less the deductible. Me in one of those fuzz butt thingies? That would be a total nightmare that I'd even scare myself with! Ain't gonna happen, my friend!! Don't work too hard with that painting today.

Karen - Glad you got some time to spend with your poolies. Did you get any rain yesterday? We did for about 2 hours here just when I would have wanted to be on the lanai. That's figures. Just my luck!

The kids just got picked up by Jimmy's cousin. I do hope we will get to the Grille for lunch before they bring more stuff back here to go in the garage. The good part is that where M&J have been renting is 45 minutes away, so that will be an hour and a half just driving and not getting anything loaded or done before coming back so we should have plenty of time.

Time for a cup of coffee and to read the newspaper to see how DeathSantis is going to try to kill us today! That man is a first class a-hole if ever there was one! Here we are number 1 on Covid cases and what is he doing? Campaigning in Utah to drum up support for his run for president. He refuses to follow any of the CDC guidelines and is even selling beer coozies that say HOW CAN I DRINK MY BEER WEARING A MASK? 2 for $10.! He's selling t-shirts mocking Dr. Fauci too. Now my BP is going up again, so I better drop this subject!

Have a fantastic day, gang, and do what you need to to stay safe! :)

Time to VENT: Feel free to SKIP!!!
Angry Animation GIF by Jimmy Arca

Tried real hard to PAY 3 Doctors bills. They are either on "another line and can't take your call" or they want you to leave your name & phone number and they will call you back!
Yeh....like I'm going to sit around waiting for your call. GEEZ.
They all want you to get online and enter your credit card or bank info to pay them.
I really like to check to make sure they have the same amount as the statement says. Sometimes the insurance company has made adjustments and you just don't want to OVERPAY because we all know
getting any kind of money back is near impossible once paid!

Art was sitting at the kitchen table and after I finally got done with the 3 payments he said:
" If you pass away before me I'll need to hire a agency to do my bills"!
Ha Ha. I just replied that I won't have to worry about it and that's the good thing about dying first! :emoticon 0140 rofl:

Good Friday (should I say Air Fryday?) to everyone.
I got the light up today because I thought it more important to get my exercise done yesterday.
So tell me Kathie. Is it a coincidence that after “venting” you went for a “venti” foo foo drink at Starbucks? It’s neat that you can get any size beverage for the same number of stars. We sometimes get a ginormous refresher which we share. You threw out cookies?! “Forgive me Father, I have sinned!l“ Katie had a lot of teeth removed. Bear had a root canal. Katie was as right as rain yesterday. Then we noticed a big bruise on her tummy. We went to the vet this morning. They are doing blood work but really didn’t see anything unusual.
We still had a food box meal and another protein we had thawed. There are so many recipes to choose from so we will make a selection for Sunday.
That Governor of yours is a real piece of work Pat. All you can do is your best to stay safe. Did you make it to The Grille for lunch? The more I thought about your lightening strike the more I realized how glad we are that we high tail it indoors whenever we hear thunder or see those flashes in the sky.
A boom box Dave? How old are you anyways? You have no doubt heard of “The Walkman”. I’d jump to streaming music on your iPod or iPhone but don’t want to shock you into the 21st century too quickly. Those Ninja Fellas said your referral check is in the mail along with your deed for that ocean front property just down the road from your Arizona daughter’s place.
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNlMzNUDM8s

Anyway, I best get down to the treadmill. I sure don’t need the folks at rehab beating on me!
I hope all of you have a wonderful evening and a fantastic start to tomorrow.

Good evening...

Pat, that was some major thunderbolt you had here in Ocala....I know if they hit in just the right spot they can take out a LOT of electonics...
Nice that you have jimmy's cousin around to help entertain the grandkids & get them out of your hair for a while!
We only got spits of rain yesterday...but it poured over at Jane's while we were in the pool...and on me after I left Jane's & went to Walmart...today we had some nice rain though....

lee, sounds like you got a fancy dancy air fryer....with all the healthy food you make I can see you getting a lot of use out of...
Sending good thoughts to Katie!

kathie, bummer that the cookies did not turn out well...they sounded good & I was going to ask you for the receipe...
And surprisingly I use my air fryer quite a bit...more than I really thought I would to be honest...to me it's a fast easy way to cook for just 1 person...

Dave, slow & steady on the shed...looking forward to seeing the before & after pic's....I would have loved to seen a video of you "painting to the oldies" I bet you were swaying & bopping to the beat...

Busy day around here today...I got up fairly early & got all my housework done...then Barb messaged me this afternoon to ask if she could come swimming here after she got off work...she wanted to drop off her recycle stuff & see if I had a large tote bin she could borrow to store Christmas Presents in so she can keep them in one spot & not lose anything...so of course I said yes...called Jane & her and Hansel came over too....we picked up Publix subs to eat down at the pool along with some chips & fruit...a nice casual supper outside...

After I got back home I gave Wendy a call to see how she was doing...only to find out her Daughter from Mass. who was here for Lanny's funeral is still here in Ocala in the hospital with Covid! Her Grandaughter & nephew who were also at the funeral also came down with Covid....and quite possibly they all got it from Wendy's daughter from Ohio who was to sick to fly down for the funeral s the nephew drove her down...I knew Wendy had said Sheila was sick...but she never said she had covid before today...I would have never gone if I'd known that...and I sat right next to Jill, the grandaughter during the funeral...that's just crazy...why would you knowingly go somewhere like that if you knew you had covid? Thankfully I'm vaccinated but Barb isn't...and neither were quite a few of the other people there...I just hope & pray Wendy's daughter will be Ok...
And on that note...I'm calling it a night....

K2-Mich

WOW Karen that’s one horrible story about Wendy and her daughter and the COVID. WHAT’s wrong with these people? I would think with all that is in the NEWS in Florida about Covid and Delta that Wendy would have at least called YOU to tell you about it. Lordy. You really need to try hard to get Barb to get vaccinated. The numbers are off the charts for new cases in Florida for a DAY. Sorry to PREACH, but Barb can get the Delta because she is unvaccinated and then pass it on to the rest of you and others. Scary.
Do you think Barb should go get tested?

Lee: Sure hope everything is going to be okay with Katie. Sending good vibes her way.
So did putting the kitchen light up go smoothly without a hitch? Hope so.
I still can’t believe how you can find all these videos that pertain to what you and Dave were talking about all the time! Nice song!
I like the Dragon Fruit refresher that Starbucks makes. I get it made with Coconut water!

Pat: Very interesting about having those ROOF TILES sit up on top of the roof for 2 weeks. Never knew that was done, but sure makes sense.
I really hope the house moves along for the DOGS SAKE! Hate to think of them in their cages most of the day. They’ll be happy once they can get outside in their new backyard.

Okay, back to the Olympics.

Watching the TV a newscaster used this phrase; "As summer winds down." NO, NO, NO, it's WAY too early to be talking like that. I'm just getting used to the idea that shorts is the proper thing to be wearing every day.

I love it when you vent, K2. It proves that I'm not the only one that gets irritated with doctor's offices procedures. And I'm not the only one that's getting more frustrated with knuckle-heads that won't get vaccinated, along with politicians that get in the way of mask wearing. These dunder-heads are making it rough on the rest of us who are actively doing what's best for the public good. "Stupid is as stupid does." Still have the ponytail. Gotta let it get an inch longer. On this morning's news, there was some good news; Mask sales are on the rise again.

Yup, M&J and the rest of their family are going to be staying at your house longer than anyone expects, BB. They're dreaming if they think this is the last "wait period" for things for their house. And their 2 dogs staying in their kennels most of the time is wishful thinking. Ain't going to happen. Yes I'm taking it easy on the painting. So far, an hour and a half of it is pretty much my limit.

I'll make up your mind for you, Lee. The first thing you need to cook in your air fryer is French Fries. I prefer those frozen "fast food" ones. Our biggest goof is cooking things a bit too long. Hey, I love my boom-box. It's an old beater that's over 20 years old, with spots of paint all over it from previous paintings, but the sound is fantastic. I just turn it on to an oldy-but-moldies FM station and wiggle to the music as I paint. The neighbors probably think this old white boy is having a seizure.

And no KC, there is no "swaying and bopping". In my case, I'm happy if it's not swaying and dropping.

This Covid spread in your family is such a shame. Who in their right mind wouldn't tell you that they had been infected? Maybe now the rest of the unvaccinated family members will get the shot. If they got any smarts they will. This Delta variant is really nasty and as easy to catch as the common cold. People need to act as a team and stomp out this Covid pandemic before a variant emerges that our shots won't protect us from.

We got a yummy watermelon with our groceries this week. Just one of those small round ones. I cut it up yesterday into little bite-sized pieces. It's a little tough because our longest knife isn't long enough to cut across the whole thing.

Kathi lucked out when she renewed her driver's license yesterday. For a bit extra, Ohio now allows people to get one that's good for 8 years. Instead of the usual 4 years.

Time to throw some groceries down my neck, wake up Kathi, and head out for another short session of painting.

Good morning...getting a late start on the day after sleeping till almost 9 o'clock....how scandalous!:) But that's ok....I really have nothing exciting on tap for today any way...

Kathie....calm down sweetie....Wendy did call me last week to check on Barb & I...only problem is she called my cell phone which is rarely on...and when it is on half the time it doesn't tell me I have a voice mail...and yes...Barb is planning on getting tested even though it's been over 2 weeks since we were exposed...

Dave, I think this is going to be the push that was needed to get Jane & Barb in for their shot...they are wanting the J&J 1 shot & done....I haven't pushed because it's there choice...but with the numbers rising like they are here in Florida it's definitely a good idea.

Pat, that is pretty neat information about the tile roof...never realized the house needed time to adjust to the weight...but it makes sense....
And it sounds like you have a pretty good handle on meal time around your place once everyone is moved in....it's not like you haven't done this before for an even longer time....

Lee, hoping Miss Katie is back to her old fine self this morning....

Nothing much else to gab about this morning so I'll go wind the Grandfather clock for the week & fix me a 2nd cup of coffee....enjoy your day all....it's the WEEKEND!!!!

Happy Saturday morning, everyone! I too slept later this morning, as I figured this would be the last morning we didn't have our boarders here. Well, I was wrong about that. We stayed up until 12 and there was no sign of them and I hadn't heard from them, so we assumed that they were staying at the hotel near where they lived. We turned off the lights outside and locked the door. As I was coming to life this morning, I heard little sounds coming from the family room area. Sure enough, they were here and I had heard the kids playing. So much for that quiet day I was expecting!

Karen - Sorry about so many members of Wendy's family coming down with the virus, but unfortunately, they had made the choice to not get vaccinated and are now paying the consequences. Definitely encourage your sisters to get the jab. Truthfully, they would be better off with one of the other ones, but at least the J&J one is better than nothing. It will give them some protection from the virus.
Can you believe the crap DeathSantis keeps pulling? If I hear one more thing about him signing an EXECUTIVE ORDER against requiring masks anywhere, I'd like to personally help him shove said EXECUTIVE ORDER up his a$$! Man, I thought I couldn't hate someone more than lil t, but this a-hole is totally outdoing anything lil t did. And I'm sure he's not done yet.

Kathie - Nice that you were able to reward yourself with a stop at Starbucks. Would you believe the last time I was in a Starbucks for a coffee had to be at least 8 years ago? I'm just not that much of a coffee drinker and I refuse to pay their price. They have a Starbucks on a number of ships we've been on and still I never get one, even if the ship's coffee tastes like dirty dish water.

Dave - I like the idea of limiting the amount of time you're out there painting. Lucky you to still have an oldies station on the radio. Only way we can get that kind of music is if you pay for it in this area. Good thing we have most of the best music on CDs from Time Life. Remember them? They sent them 1 a month and they range from about the mid 50s until early 60s. Then they started the British invasion stuff - Beatles, Stones, etc. We've got them too!

Lee - I hope Katie is ok. Glad you took her to the vet right away. You're excellent pet parents. Yes, we made it to the Grille for lunch yesterday. I had a chicken parm sub. It was so big that I couldn't even finish it, so guess what I'm having for lunch? Ate real unhealthy last night. I made fried flounder sandwiches. I bet they would have worked in an air fryer too, but I don't have one. I think we are running out of room for goodies like that in our kitchen. We've still got enough fish left for another sandwich tonight.

Time to get off here and visit with Missy for a few minutes before she has to get back to work cleaning out the trailer. Have a great day, gang! :)

Good afternoon!
Our Katie girl is doing just fine. We had a blood panel done yesterday and all is well. Simply bad timed coincidences wit the throwing up and bruising? Perhaps. Thank you all for caring and asking about her.

All I can say Karen is WTF!!! Why, in this day and age, would anyone who wasn't feeling up to snuff go to a place where people were gathered. On the bright side, if this pushes you sisters who I imagine fall in to the compromised category because their weight, to get a shot - good! Tell Barb I have a tote perfect for storing Christmas pressies! ;)
Again, this group is not just fun but educational too! I didn't realize that mission tiles had to sit on the roof to allow the house to settle before they are put on. Neat. I used to think that Starbucks was pricier too but Timmies is about the same price now for coffee. We only get Starbucks foo foo drinks when we have stars and they're "free" or they have a 1/2 price deal. I sure hope the dogs are used to time in their crates!

It's an old beater that's over 20 years old
So that's how you get the oldies station!
The neighbors probably think this old white boy is having a seizure.
I'm not sure, but I don't think you're allowed to say that.
As for our first thing in the air fryer...the meal we have from the food box is salmon with roasted potatoes and zucchini. I have decided to go big or go home and make it in this fan dangled new gizmo. The salmon can go in one side, the veg in the other, set the temps and times, hit the finish together button and we have dinner! I'll let you know how it comes out.
Lu-Ann likes the hibiscus refresher without the lemonade Kathie. She finds the lemonade makes it too sweet. She is already sweet enough. (feeble attempt at scoring brownie points.) When we were at The Navy Yard this morning it sure looked cloudy over your way. I hope that you didn't get any bad weather. With the exception of trying to do things with little or no feeling in my left thumb as a result of the surgery, the light went up pretty well. Because we didn't get to pick any of the fits, finishes or fixtures in this house there are a few things we are swapping out a little at a time.
Lu-Ann wants to cut the back yard because it's grown so quickly. I'm going to get on the bike and / or treadmill to get my exercise done!
You all have a good, no, make that a GREAT day!
And Kathie if you like the songs Dave and I come up with based on things we talk about how could I not share this one based on Dave's comment!

Good MID AFTERNOON gang. Time got away on me while I poked around and watched what I could find on the Olympics. The TV Coverage is as it is every 4 years.... HORRIBLE. I know there is a time difference, but even when I stay up late to watch at their time they never hit on some of the lesser popular events. I really need to look into seeing if there is a STATION you can PAY for and buy into next time around. It would be worth it for the few weeks the games are on.

Karen......nice to know that Wendy did try to do the right thing. You're like me when it comes to folks leaving a message on my PHONE. I just don't have my PHONE in my pocket 24/7 and miss those calls/messages.
And as far as your sisters WAITING for the 1-SHOT vaccine.....it's not worth the RISK the way your numbers are going up DAILY.
This is what I found for July 29th for ALL of Florida. 17,589 That's for one day! CRAZY to wait it out.
Again, forgive me for going on and on, but we all know WHO would be taking care of the sisters if they did get the Covid or Delta virus. YUP... it is their decision. All the best to them and you too. We rant because we CARE for YOU so much.

  • Michigan isn't much better: From Wed, July 28 - Friday, July 30 we had 2250 confirmed new Covid cases and 19 deaths.
Lee: Any chance I can have permission to post a picture or two of you & Lu-Ann with pups at the Park. Not a problem if you don't want them on here. They were really nice pictures.

Good to know Katie is okay. Whew!

And now what's with your THUMB being numb since the surgery? What's the Doc have to say about that? I see Acupuncture in your future! :emoticon 0122 itwasntme:
Can't wait to find out how your AIR FRY dinner turns out. I bet it will be YUMMY.

Okay, Artie wants to get on here and read his beloved Detroit Free Press and print off his Crossword Puzzle.

Later gang. Be safe, be happy and enjoy the day.

DAVE: Tell Kathi nice catch on getting a 8 year drivers license. For some of us that would put our next registration right up to the time we would be "PUSHING DAISIES"! LOL Ha Ha.

The verdict is in! That dual zone Ninja Foodi is one slick unit! I found air fryer recipes for salmon and roasted potatoes. I seasoned both the fish and veg. Popped the fish in basket 1, set the temp and time. Veg went in to basket 2, set the temp and time. Pushed the “finish together” button and walked away. The veg started first and the salmon 5 minutes later. Twenty minutes on we had perfectly done salmon fillets and delightful roasted potatoes and zucchini. Add us to Dave and Karen in those who will be using our air fryer whenever we can.
I don’t know the pics you are talking about Kathie but, well, sure. I think Lu-Ann took some at The Navy Yard and then some when we stopped at Viewpointe Winery on our way home from Leamington.
Ya, my thumb…they harvested a radial artery from my wrist. They told me the numbness could last as long as a year! I glad they didn’t take one from my head and leave it even “numb-er“ than it already is.
Have a great night my friends.

Lee, glad your air fryer dinner turned out so well...I used mine tonite also...I had picked up a package of boneless, skinless chicken tenderloins at Walmart the other day..I did up the majority of them in the air fryer with just a little mayo spread on them to keep them moist...9 mins. later they were all done...I packaged them up for the freezer to use for salads & quick meals...the last 4 I again rubbed with mayo & then dipped in a italian bread crumb parmesan cheese breading...again 9 mins. later dinner was served along with a salad & baked potato...easy peasy!

Saying good night now from Sunny Belleview!

Checking out from here tonight. Your dinners are sounding so good, but being I don't have an air fryer, we're doing things the old fashioned way - Heating up and refrying the leftover fish from last night.

See you all tomorrow somewhere along the line! Have agreat night, everyone!! :)
