Calling it a night from Macomb!

It was a long afternoon, but we had a good WORK TEAM and got a lot done. Tomorrow is the PUSH to get it all done before around 2:30 pm when the family is suppose to roll in.
There are a few younger members coming to put together bedroom furniture.
Couch & chairs and end table to be delivered. I wonder if somebody bothered to order LAMPS! DUH!!
We need to get the LANDLORD to tell us why almost all the windows won't OPEN. Like the one over the kitchen sink and the bathroom window. We had our handyman from church trying to open it and he GAVE UP. You gotta know it was stuck if HE GAVE UP.

I'll be real happy to see how a KING SIZE bed gets into the small bedroom area. I'll try and remember to take a picture for you guys! LOL

Lee: My knee let me know it was TIRED as I drove home. I iced it and put some salve on it and it's better. Good thing I had the elastic brace on it.
Thanks for the TUG schedule.

Karen: Nice picture of you and Wendy and Barb. Hope you had a good outing.
And as far as the pups name goes.... I can barely keep up with all our names yet alone peoples pets names. You'll just have to give me a PASS on that. Ha Ha

PAT: I was REAL happy I stopped for breakfast. All we had at the house we were working on was bottled water! Somebody forgot to have a MUNCHIE committee come by. LOL

Okay, you all be good and I'll be back as they say in the movies.

I'm impressed Dave, I thought maybe it would have been chiseled on a rock...kinda like the 10 commandments." Nope, yearbook wasn't chiseled in stone. You're thinking of my birth certificate, KC.
1f601.png
Neat pictures of you and your sisters, and you with Hansel.

K2; Us humans seem to go out of our way to keep stuff we should be pitching. Imagine how garbage bags of stuff you have just in your basement. Hope you didn't booger up your knee when cleaning up the new priest's house.

That's a shame BB that you rarely see Monarch Butterflies in your area. They are one of the prettiest butterflies. Can't say I've ever been in a Winn Dixie. None around here. But when I was stationed in Georgia I did shop at a Piggley Wiggley. None of those around here either.

Yes Lee, we still order our groceries on the computer and then go to the grocery store the next day, call them, and they bring them out and load them in our car. If/when this pandemic ends we'll still mostly do it too. After years of jogging and running I learned never to be cheap when it comes to the shoes. And the good ones never come cheap.

Once again, no plans for today. I should get on the treadmill for a bit. It would give me the chance to finish watching Casablanca. I did a little bit of weed-wacking yesterday. Good thing I always have a chair nearby because after just a little while my shins and ankles were hurting.

Good morning, everyone!

Kathie - How's the knee doing today? Hopefully it's still not complaining about all you put it through yesterday. Try to supervise more today and let the worker bees do all the work.

Dave - While we don't see Monarch butterflies here. We do see Painted Lady butterflies which are similar though smaller than Monarchs. One year while I was teaching, we ordered Painted Lady caterpillars, built butterfly houses out of clear plastic material, so the kids could watch them grow, build a chrysalis, and finally emerge as a butterfly. We had already planted a butterfly garden in front of the school, so one afternoon I took the class out to the garden and we released our 6 Pained Lady butterflies. It was a fun learning experience for all of us!

Karen - Nice picture of you gals and Wendy. Thanks for explaining which dog belonged to who. It's hard to keep things like that any longer!! Definitely age related. LOL

That's about all I've got this morning, so I'm out of here. Might get outside for a little while before the rains return once again. Have a wonderful day, gang! :)

Happy Birthday Party GIF by Hello All
Lee........Art and I want to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR tomorrow! Looks like you celebrated a day early on Facebook.
Enjoy your day.

I'm too tired to post much more. My knee is good today. My head was the issue around 3 hours into the day. I went into my car turned on a SPA music and the A/C and shut my eyes and I REVIVED myself. At the end of the day today our current priest blessed this house. I'm sure if the neighbors saw him in his Priest Cloak they would have thought a CULT was moving in.
Tomorrow the last minute fussing and the new guy and his family show up around 2:00-3:00pm depending how many times they stopped along the way from Libertyville, Ilinois.

We all worked so well together today putting together bed frames, a kids table & chairs and kitchen set for them and putting together dressers and bed frames. The KING SIZE bed actually just made it in the small master bedroom. Whew. The couch & love couch fit perfectly in the main room. Kitchen set looks perfect too.
WE DID THESE newbies GOOD! And then some.

One of our wealthier couples in our parish donated everything for the yard. Lawnmower, rakes, blower, hose, electricidal cord, cutters for tree branches (that was going a tad too far) garage broom, Snow Blower. He was out in the garage all day putting everything together. Nice to be able to afford to donate all that new stuff.

The foam mattresses that were a pretty penny to buy once opened sprung up and are still expanding. We'll make those beds tomorrow because we want the foam to expand overnight.

We had Mexican Food and Pizza delivered from a
parishioner who owns a fantastic Mexican restaurant. So nice of him to come all the way to this side of town with all the carry outs.

All in all we were BUSY little ELVES all day and everyone got along.
This family is truly lucky to walk into a totally supplies house of new things.
A lady is going to be going BASIC grocery shopping tomorrow morning and bring stuff over. I was all for taking the priests wife to a Kroger, Meijer or Costco and letting loose. The donations from the church organizations and people will be covering all the went into this house and then some.
He will have to find another car for his wifey on his own. WE PUT THE STOP ON THAT RIGHT AWAY. You can do TOO MUCH and never know when to stop unless you just say NO.

Okay, I'm TIRED and need a hot shower. I'll try and post some pictures tomorrow.

Love you all. BE SAFE as you crawl around out of your homes. That Delta is looking for you. And if you can, get on a list for the 3rd Covid shot. We got ours and never had any issues.

Good evening Folks!
A quiet day on the old bunny board.

Thank you Kathie and Art. We went to Wolfhead Distillery with the gang. The distillery is about 15 minutes from here. They have really, really good food. Masks are required when moving through the restaurant. The server was masked. Once seated you can take off your mask. We came back here after lunch for cake. See below...
You sure have been a busy Bunny Kathie, getting the priest's new home ready for him and his family. Those mattresses crack me up. You pull them out of the box, cut the plastic and "poof" you have a mattress! Nice that they decided to feed the crew for working so hard. I'm sure that "Father Newbie" will love everything you have done for him and his family.
What great learning opportunity for your students and for the teachers as well Pat! There seem to be a lot of folks doing butterfly gardens and houses in this area. Something to do to distract everyone from the pandemic.
I actually saw Dave's birth certificate Karen. It was a cave painting right beside a couple of other woolly dinosaurs! ;) Come on Dave, who loves ya!
We pitched so much stuff leading up to our move Dave. And we moved a few boxes we should have pitched! We only used the online ordering when we came home from FL in 2020. We had to isolate for 14 days. We had friends get us groceries but also used the local Foodtown's order and delivery. Foodtown in Ayr was a smaller Mom and Pop place. Todd and Selina went above and beyond for the community.
So, here's my birthday cake. Yep, Batman. Why? Well, those of you who are Big Bang fans know that Sheldon was very quirky. In one episode he saw a little kid wearing a Batman T-Shirt and asked "How come he gets to be Batman?" Needless to say every time I see anyone wearing one I look at Lu-Ann and ask the same question. So there's why I got a Batman cake for my birthday stating "Lee IS Batman". I hadn't seen it until it came out of the box and the eight of us had a good chuckle.
tempImage1VA8Zr.jpg

OK my friends. You all have a very good night. An extra good day tomorrow. Having a birthday on September 11 is both a blessing and a curse. As someone once told me I should celebrate for all those who can't. So, hug somebody tomorrow. Just because.

Happy Birthday Lee! Are you going to tell us your new age? Do something fun, and eat well today. (And NO, it doesn't have to be healthy food today.) I'm so glad you explained why your cake said, "Lee is Batman". I saw the picture before I read your explanation, and I went "HUGH???"

You had me looking up Painted Lady Butterflies, BB. They do look similar to Monarchs. That sounds like a fun school project you did with the students.

I give K2, what the heck is SPA music? You mentioned the 3rd Covid shot. We're starting to get notices about flu shots now being available. Since fewer and fewer people are now wearing masks, the doctors are saying that the infection rates for the flu will be higher this year. More colds too.

Oh go ahead and have the current priest get out there in his Priest Cloak. Build a fire and have the congregation dance around chanting in Serbian. And take bets how long it'll be before the first 4-sale sign goes up in the neighborhood.

You're welcome for this fundraising idea.

Nothing much planned for today. May make one of my spicy mystery-brews.

As we all know it'll be the anniversary of 911. And a time to remember that day, as we should. Our own personal memories of the horrors and the heroism.

BUT every news channel, local and network, will be broadcasting their stories of that day. All day long. Probably most of the weekend too. They all have been putting theses specials together for months.

No disrespect meant, but I figure that by noon I'll be all burned out on 911.

DAVE: "SPA" music is just that.........the kind of music you hear when your walk into a Salon for a massage or facial.

Lee: Enjoy your Birthday Big Boy. Have a extra glass of WINE for me. I just heard the other day that it's the GRAPES that are good for you

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEE!!!!
Good morning to all you special people! I hope you have something special planned for the day. I wish we did, but that's not in the cards around here today.

As we all relive that "where were you when the planes hit" moment, here at our house the day has more meaning. It's the 7th anniversary of when Justin hurt himself and started the downward slide. I have already shed many tears this morning and I know the day isn't going to get any better for any of us. I will forever hate this date (sorry Lee).

Missy went to work deliberately today. She could have taken the day off, but wanted to keep as busy as possible. She bought a pile of candy to share with her coworkers to keep the day light. She already admitted that she cried most of the way to work.

Kathie - You and your church group really are going above and beyond with getting the house ready for the new priest. What happens if he buys a house of his own? What happens with all the furniture and stuff you bought for the family? He doesn't get to keep it, does he? What is they decide they don't like living and working in Michigan and decide to move out of state. What happens then? Just curious.

Dave - You're right about every news channel having one special after another about 9/11. I'm glad I have a Gator game to watch at 1:30. You can only watch so much of that stuff. I don't know if I ever told you that my father, a policeman, had to escort the steel beams from where they were coming from to the Holland Tunnel a couple of times a week during construction of the towers. While I was still home with my parents, when I sat on the side of my bed, I could watch the construction of the towers as well as look at the State of Liberty. And then a house was built around the corner that totally blocked my view. Bummer!

Lee - Love, love, LOVE your birthday cake! That was too cool. Looks like you and your friends had a nice time at the winery yesterday. Great way to kick off the birthday weekend. So what do you have planned to do for the rest of the weekend to keep the celebration going?

Finally got to have Chinese food last night. We had their family meal deal - 6 main dishes, including their house special fried rice, egg drop soup and 6 egg rolls. There was plenty for everyone and enough leftovers for dinner again tonight!

Time for me to get off the computer for a while and make myself another cup of coffee while I read today's newspaper. Have a wonderful day, everyone, and stay safe. Hugs to you all!

Lee, Wishing you a VERY Happy Birthday...and that was good advice to celebrate for all those who cannot...I heard a saying one time...Never complain about growing old...the grave yard is full of those who did not have that opportunity...
And that WAS a super cool cake btw!!

Pat, sending (((Hugs))) to you, Missy & the family...so many sad memories for all of you today....
Your chinese dinner sounds great...and leftovers is even better!!

Dave, I'm sorry for poking fun at your year book & birth certificate...my Mama really did raise me better....she always told me..don't make fun of old people...or one of these days one of them is gonna whop you up side your head with their cane!

Kathie, you were all a bunch of worker bee's getting the house ready for your new priest....sure hope the family appreciates all the time, money & effort that went into it...and he wanted the church to provide a 2nd car for the family??? I got just 1 question for you...how do I become a priest in your religion??

I'm sure we all have etched in our memory where we were & what we were doing on this day....

Good afternoon and thank you all, each and every one of you, for the birthday wishes. It is a tough day in history for all of us. Tougher more recently for others. I'm glad that we do all have each other.
Karen, what a great Alan Jackson tune. Are you trying to provoke Dave? Like poking a bear with a stick! Or do you hope that he and Kathi will head to FL this winter. To show you his parchment. :D
I'm sure that 9/11/81 is one of those days that we can all vividly recall where we were and what we were doing. And the disbelief at what we, first heard on the radio, and secondly saw when we got near a TV. Apple TV has released The Broadway version of "Come From Away" which tells the story of the 38 flights that were diverted to Newfoundland and how the people of that Canadian province opened their hearts and homes to complete strangers. I think that we may just give it a watch tonight.
Sending a most sincere virtual hug your way Pat. That order of Chinese food was meant to feed 6 people. One meal now and another a half hour later when you all got hungry again. The rest of the weekend there's not too much stuff planned. Lu-Ann wanted to go to a home and garden centre this morning. I wanted to go to Starbucks. to collect my birthday gift.

"SPA" music is just that.........the kind of music you hear when your walk into a Salon for a massage or facial.
Now Kathie, I may be wrong but I can't imagine our Dave EVER walking into a salon for a facial. Yes, red wine in moderation is supposed to be "heart healthy". I sure hope that "Father Newbie" has arrived and is truly appreciative of all the effort and work your congregation and a few members have gone to to make this place a home. Any word on how to open the windows yet? I hope they're not painted closed!
Dave, I have almost trained myself over the past 5 months to make the healthy selection. Even at the restaurant yesterday I opted for a salad to go with my Cajun Chicken sandwich. And a glass of red wine. Actually a glass and a half as the "rustic" table has a dip in it and I sat my wine glass down and it tipped over! After I finished licking the table the waitress apologized and brought me another glass.
Time to hit the stationary bike for about 40 minutes. Thats's how long it should take me to watch my Formula 1 program.
You all have a great day. Keep your masks on and your spirits high!

You are so correct Lee, I ain't ever been in a spa for a facial. And don't plan on it either. I can pop my own zits.

So K2, I'm going to go on believing that spa music involves a lot of yodeling.

Feel sad for you BB having a double dose of sadness on 911.

KC; Keep in mind what your Mama told you. This old geezer has 2 canes. I'll whop you on both sides of your head.

Did get my spicy mystery brew made yesterday. Two thirds of it I froze. Not a real tongue burner this time. But I've learned that it gets hotter every day. This time the corn came from the garden of one of Kathi's sons. Real small kernels compared to canned corn.

Today's goal is to hit the treadmill. And not with my canes. Although some days, the thought does cross my mind.

We may go cast our votes at an advance poll today. Our federal election is September 20 but we’re hoping the voting places may be a little quieter today than on Election Day. All the technology in the world and we either have to vote in person or by mail.

Good morning, everyone! Beautiful day for us today. Maybe I'll FINALLY get a chance to get out on the lanai this afternoon.

Dave - Ever see that show on TV with doctor who pops pimples and they show the removal close up? Absolutely, disgusting! So if you don't want to go to her, I'd advise you to pop your own zits. So aside from corn, what was in spicy mystery brew? Just curious.

Lee - Happy voting today! What is the election for? Sorry that "rustic" table drank your wine!

Kathie - So how did the newbie priest like the way you gals set the place up for him & his family? Has he given his OPINION on anything yet?

Jcar -We are not a female group, but long time married couples from the US and Canada. Most of us have met or cruised together over the years. You're welcome to be a bunny, as long as you take care of your part of the hutch. Tell us about yourself.

I promised Bert BLTs for lunch today and seeing as how the boarders went out for the day, I guess I should get to work and make them. Then we're off to Publix and a very quick stop at Wally World to pick up 1 item that Publix hasn't had for a while now. I hope you all have something fun planned for today. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy, be good and stay safe! :)

Good LATE afternoon Wrabbits!

We just got back from a LONG ride towards Up North-East way. Saw a freighter and had lunch at a whole in the wall Coney-Hamburger joint. Food was great, but the cook must have the controls for the Air Cond and had it on HIGH. And unfortunately I didn't have my hoodie jacket in the backseat of the car like I usually do. Nearly froze. Turned on the heat in the car when we got out of there.

The Priest & his wife and kids LOVED the place. Who wouldn't. EVERYTHING is new. Ha ha. No complaints yet. As far as who gets the furnishing when and if they move. I have no clue. It's all donated and so far the church treasury hasn't taken a HIT for the furnishings. We do take a hit on the RENT and utilities. The idea is to get this guy to BUY his own place, take the stuff with him and start paying for things himself. Of course, that would mean a HIKE in his pay. Time will tell when this will happen. He has to stay in this house for 12 months. It's a 1 yr lease.

I didn't go to church today. I watched it online as much as I could. The reception was bad. Kept going out all the time.

The drive to Lexington Heights was nice. Once we got up there there was a CLOUD burst of rain and then it went away. We saw a freighter on the way up. BIG LONG one.

Sounds like you Wrabbits have been behaving this weekend. Good going gang.

I'm off to watch the US OPEN Tennis Final. Let's hope the SERB Djokovic makes history today.

Later gang.

Where, once again, did today go?
We were in and out of our polling station in about 10 minutes this morning!

Pat, this vote is for Prime Minister. Kinda like our President. We have more parties in Canada than you can shake a stick at. And some need to have a stick shaken at them. The three main parties are The Liberals led by current PM Justin Trudeau. The Conservatives led by Erin The Tool. OOPS, I mean O'Toole. And the New Democratic Party led by Jagmeet Singh. Then we have The Green Party The People's Party of Canada, The Christian heritage Party and an Independent Party candidate. For me it's a case of the devil you know vs the devils you don't. So, you can likely figure out where my ballot was cast. thanks for allowing us to celebrate Grand Parents Day with all of you. Hope that you got some time out doors.
Yes Jcar, simply send $49.95 USD that's right, only $49.95USD to our off shore account in Massillon OH and you to can become a bunny. But wait, order now and we waive the third payment. ;) That's right. Only two payments of $49.95 USD!! This is a time limited offer and will likely expire before you read it. So, that's 3 payments of $49.95 USD or call our hotline at BR-549.
Can any of you remember where that number came from?
Kathie, you and the team put an awful lot of work into making that house a home for "Father Newbie" and his family. I'm so glad that he seemed to appreciate everyone's efforts. There's just something that's plain neat about seeing the freighters, the pleasure craft and so on on the lakes and The Detroit River. Yesterday we saw a beautiful eagle carrying huge fish as we headed to the park. OF course we were in the van at the time and couldn't get a photo. :( Sometimes it's the hole-in-the-wall joints that have the BEST food!
I best get my butt in gear. We didn't get to Come From Away last night. Maybe tonight.
Whatever you all get into or up to, please do so safely.
