Hi Wrabbits. Nice chatter on here.... love it.

Mike: I was thinking about you and Fay and Kathi Allen when I was watching the Weather Channel on TV. Lots of storms and warnings. Glad you are okay.

There was HORRIBLE ICE STORM damage in upper Michigan areas. I mean they had ICE that was 3 inches thick on tree branches and of course there were tree limbs all over the place. They closed down the Mackinaw Bridge because of HUGE ICE CHUNKS falling from the support cables on the bridge. Crazy.

Lee: Sure hope Ava gets better soon. Never easy watching our fur babies get sick. Sometimes being a loyal Canadian just doesn't pay. I totally HATE what's happening between our two countries. That MORON has me losing hair lately. And that's not a joke. I can't watch the MSNBC or CNN anymore because of all the BS being reported.
It's our own fault for not having stricter laws on just what a President is allowed to do and get away with it. But then again, the current Pres doesn't follow the simplest rules, so I guess it's hopeless. I hope I LIVE long enough to see him OUT OF OFFICE or better yet........well, I won't say what I'm thinking on here. Sorry for the RANK again. I said I wouldn't do it and it's just hard not to.

Karen that's FANTASTIC WORK. Sure would be nice if some MEN could do some of the lifting and moving of things for you ladies. Hope everyone notices the good work you ladies do.

Our Mission yesterday was to take a HUGE LOAD of $.10 cent returnable cans and bottles that Art has been saving up to Oxford, MI (about 45-50 mins from our house) to the police station. A Group that maintains the Bike Paths and some of the bike dirt roads uses the funds from these returnables to cover maintenance costs of miles of paths. They have a collection every Spring.
We found a new (hole in the wall) donut-burger place that Jill told us about up there and stopped and ordered 2 burgers and 2 donuts. BEST BURGER IN A LONG TIME. You could tell they take a hunk of hamburger and hand form it for the grill. It was huge and yummy.
As for the DONUTS, they remind me of how donuts use to be made and tasted from Mom & Pops type bakeries of the past. And yes, it really was a spares place inside, but the staff was so pleasant it made up for the lack of ambiance! Ha Ha. Hey, it's a burger place not a formal restaurant.

Art and I managed to tackle one issue with our getting "DEATH READY" project yesterday. At one point we were so tired from trying to figure paperwork and figures out that we realized each of us were discussing a different topic at the same time and Art was trying to get his point across to me and I was trying to get mine across to him and when we FINALLY realized we were on 2 different topics of figures we cracked up to the point of almost peeing our pants! :emoticon 0136 giggle:
It was WORTH the GOOD HARDY LONG LAUGH! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

And with that.........I'm out for now.

Back in the days of Dr Kildare I was lucky enough to have one of the kind of scrub shirts he wore. It was a BIG THING back then. Too funny that I remember that like it was yesterday and can't remember why I open a cupboard for something! DUH.

Kathie, sounds like a very successful & rewarding mission for you & Art yesterday! Nothing much better than a tasty juicy burger!
There really wasn't any heavy lifting for us ladies yesterday other than the top soil & I'm used to that. The guys were there working there little buns off pressure washing the church building & sidewalks. They got there at 8 same time as us & were still there working when I went back around 12:30 or so. It was HOT yesterday too so I know they were a couple of worn out guys when they got done.

Good for you and Art saving up the cans and such and then driving them to the Oxford Police Station. All for a very good cause. Then finding a good old fashioned “Mom and Pop” burger joint on the way was an added bonus.
Too funny that I remember that like it was yesterday and can't remember why I open a cupboard for something! DUH.
Remind me again…who are you? :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
We’ll be on our way shortly to games day. Yes, the tradition we started remotely during Covid continues to this day. Except now we rotate through everyone’s homes.
Who’s that? Oh, hi again Karen.
How’s Fay Mike? And you of course.
Better run.

HI KATHI ALLEN........if you're following us on here PLEASE "HOP" on and let us know how you are. I think of you often these days and hope you're okay. We'd love to have you join in and tell us about your day, night, errands, Pumpkin goodies, etc. Hugs to you friend.

Karen good to know that the MEN were working just as hard to powder wash the property. Makes it easier for all to work in the hot weather. It's 39F here, so you can have them come up here and power wash our driveway and sidewalks, etc anytime they feel they need to be in the COLD! :emoticon 0136 giggle: How's Hansel doing these days? (might have that mispelled)

Lee...whoever you are...... you made me laugh with your comment as usual!
How's Ava doing?

Mike: Hope FAY doesn't have a swollen face from the tooth pulling. Hopefully, she's not having any after pain.

By the way: Missy (Pat/Berts dgtr) told me that CAPPI (the monster cat that Pat use to tell us about) bit Bert Monday and today he was on his way to ER with an infection. If she reports anything more, I'll be sure to pass it on. I remember some of those stories. Demanding cat!:emoticon 0102 bigsmile:

Big Cats Hello GIF by BBC Earth

STOP the PRESSES:
I forgot (yup, it happens to often) to tell you folks that yesterday when I just happen to look out the back "slider door" I saw a
Pheasant in our yard walking in that funny way they walk. I was able to open the door and get down the deck stairs to watch it keep going down the creek grass line. It finally must have saw me and started doing a Pheasant RUN out of sight. In all the decades we have lived here we have never had a Pheasant visit us.

Good morning.
All is mostly well Karen. Thank you. Ava had me up at 5:45 which is not unusual. A freezing rain / rain / snow mix was just starting so she wasn’t as eager to go out as she thought! Then she had “squishy tummy” from being hungry (we’d cut back on her food) and that woke Lu-Ann. We got her a few crunchies. Of the three of us I was the only one who didn’t settle back in to bed…
Happy Birthday to your sister Karen. Forgive me. I’m not sure if Barb or Jane is “the baby”.
Thank you for letting us know about poor Bert Kathie. I’ve heard cat bites can be nasty. I kind of recall Cappi and Bert had a “love / hate relationship anyway. A nice surprise to see a pheasant in your own back yard. I’ve heard that seeing a pheasant in your yard is a sign of good luck.
We need Mike to stop by and let us know how Fay is doing too!
Time to get Lu-Ann up. I hate to do it but if she doesn’t get her meds on schedule it throws her whole day out of whack with controlling her tremors.
Have a good day everyone.

I've been up and paying bills early over here.

I too, like LEE, saw HUGE SNOW CLUMPS falling for a while. Now it's just a NASTY HARD rain. The weather folks did predict FLOODING on the news last night. Just a good day to have a blanket around me.

Lee:
I always feel bad for the fur babies when it's WET and they need to do their business. Hope Ava starts to feel better each day.

Karen: Happy birthday to your sister. I wish I was 58 yrs young now! :emoticon 0102 bigsmile:
How's your body doing after all the church planting you did? Hope not too sore.

I called the "funeral home" that we will most likely be using when we needed to set up a PRE-PAYMENT arrangement to lock in current prices. I wonder just how much is "added" to this depending on your age when you come in for something like this? The pre-payment goes into a 3rd party trust and depending on how long you live after pre-paying, and you actually make a small amount of Interest. It all gets used or given back to your beneficiary.
Should be a very interesting meeting!
And get this.... you can pay with a credit card and earn points on your card! :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Mike: Hope all is okay over your way. Is Fay sick of soup by now?? :emoticon 0136 giggle:

Art is at the Dermatologist getting his latest "spot" cut out. They took a sample last week and sent it off to an outside lab and of course it came back Positive. Today he will be there for hours as they keep taking a cutting (don't know the exact terminology) and check to see if it has CLEAR MARGINS. They keep doing that until they find clear margins. It takes forever. He's not the only one in the office that is having that done. He took his crossword puzzle with him, and I think he has a book too. Long day for poor Art.
This is the first time he had a spot on the side of his neck. I'm a tad worried about this one.

Okay with all that HAPPY NEWS I'm off to get a cup of coffee. Make the best of the day folks.

Raining Heavy Rain GIF by Lucas and Friends by RV AppStudios

Yep, this is what it looks like outside right now. Well, except for the palm trees.
Poor little Ava hasn’t been out since early this morning. I think she has to go but doesn’t want to go in the rain. I’ll put her raincoat on if I can convince her to go out.
We paid our bills this morning too Kathie.
Well, better see if I can convince somebody to go out. Lu-Ann can take Ava with her. :emoticon 0140 rofl:

Fay is at the mall with our two daughters, they will have luch together, then Fay will do some shopping, I'm pretty sure Linda will find something she likes.
K2, do pheasants taste like chicken????Luckly, Fay doesnt get sick of soup. Hope The cutting of Art is over with by now.
A very happy birthday to your sister Kc
Did you talk Lu-Ann to take Ava our Lee? That is a nasty looking rain. We have thunderstorm, wind and tornado warnings out again today but it is expected to get to 81 today.
Have a good day

Good to hear from you Mike. It sounds like Fay is no worse for the wear if she’s at the mall. I put my foot down and told Lu-Ann to take Ava out. She stomped her foot on top of mine and told me to take her.
Keep an eye on the sky down there my friend!

Stomping Big Foot GIF by EleMcKayArtist
Ha ha.

Mike: Hope the girls (all 3) brought something home from the mall for you. Maybe a nice BIG COOKIE! :)

Art did good at the Dermatologist appt. They only had to do 1 slice to see clear edges! He has 10 stitches and a BIG white gauze dressing on his neck. All those years of not using sunscreen are showing their evil faces.
When he takes a shower tomorrow we will wrap his neck with Saran Wrap and then wrap a hand towel and pin it so it will absorb any water that he can’t avoid!

MIKE: More RAIN looks like it’s coming your way. We might get more later tonight too! Our creek right now is .

CAT UPDATE:
They took Cappi to the Vet to see if they could find a home for it l, and because of Cappi biting Bert (pretty badly this time) and having biting issues in the past they said it wouldn’t be able to re-home it. Cappy must have used up its last of 9 Lives! RIP.

Everybody stay safe with this crazy Spring weather.

Nite all

I feel bad for both Bert and Cappi. I hope Bert’s OK. Just another example of why you shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds you.
That’s good that the doctors got everything on Art’s neck. TEN stitches though! That sounds like a fair sized project. We most certainly weren’t as aware of sun damage back in the day as we are now.
Severe thunder storm warning here until 1:00 tomorrow morning.

I had to make sure I was up early to post before Karen!
I do miss popping on in the morning and not seeing our Dave’s Martian pecking away at the keyboard. If you ever do look in on this group Kathi we’d love it. Hugs to you and the pups.
You painted quite the picture of Art wrapped in Saran Wrap Kathie! Even with a hand held shower it’s hard to keep water away from everywhere.
Right around 10:00 pm we got a mild thunderstorm and rain. I think it actually helped me doze off. Not that I need help going to sleep. It’s staying asleep past 5:30 am I need help with.
We’re picking up some tummy meds for Ava this morning and dropping off a “sample”. The vet just wants to be sure there’s nothing nasty festering in her digestive tract.
So, other than to wish you all a fantastic day I don’t have much this early Thursday morning. But I will put on the coffee if anyone would like one.

Where in the HECK does the day go lately? I turn around and it’s 2:00 pm.
Remember that PHEASANT I saw in the backyard walking near the creek area??? WELL….. I think it was a skinny wild turkey instead.
WHY you may ask….because earlier I was looking outside to see if te creek had started to recede from last nights rain and I saw 5 - Wild Turkeys walking across from our house/creek! They’re not the FAT KIND OF TURKEYS, so I need to Look for pictures to verify just what they are!
It beats having flower eating squirrels all over the area! Ha ha. And yes, I do know that Lu-Ann likes and feeds the Squirrels at Navy Park! Ha ha.
That’s it folks. It’s SUNNY and 68F outside right now. Last night it was 38F.
Crazy weather.

Sorry about the above SMALL PRINT? It won’t let me enlarge it I tried! Really

We have lots of wild turkeys in the fields around here too Kathie.
I found this picture of Wild Turkey.

Mike, Karen, I hope you’re both having a good day as well.

pheasant, turkey, it doesn't make any difference, they probably all taste the same. glad Art is okay. but like Lee said 10 stitches is a lot. cat bites can be very dangerous
I hope Ava is okay Lee. My mother used to give us sour kraut juice to get rid of any nasty things we had in our stomach. I don't need help sleeping. Light rain out now and temps are supposed to drop; any coffee left Lee.

Wow…haven’t seen a Bottle of Wild Turkey in decades. We never bought it.

And trust me I don’t think I wpuld eat Pheasant or Wild Turkey or Deer. The wild life is safe from me shooting them. I would like to gwt a STARTER PISTOL to scare away the Squirrels and Black Birds.
We have about 3 TV shows to watch tonight.
Art went biking today, and said his neck isn’t bugging him like yesterday.
Karen, Kathi Allen and anybody else….have a good evening.

Have a good evening.

Evening check in, we had a FULL choir tonight for practice, first time in forever! Hopefully we will sound much better than we have been when we sing on Sunday.

Kathie, poor Art, 10 stitches on the side of his neck has got to hurt. Glad they didn't have to take a lot of shavings to get clear margins.
It's to bad about Cappi, but cat bites can be really serious.

Lee, poor Ava, tummy troubles in our fur kids are the pits. Hope she feels better soon! And no worries not remembering which sister is the "baby", at least you remembered both names, Barb is the baby.

Mike, glad to hear Fay is suffering any after effects from the rough tooth extraction!

Weather here feels like we've finished Spring & moved on into summer, it's been in the 90's the past few days. Jane & I even got in the pool yesterday with Barb, 82 degrees is still a bit to cool for my liking but the sun beating down made it more comfortable.
Taking Tom in the morning to try & pick up some sod for his front yard, luckily he doesn't need a lot of it, so hopefully it won't take long to get it & put it down.
Going to call it a night, have a good one all!
