Good reminder, Jim.

For those visiting Alaska for the first time, Skagway has numerous shops with arts, crafts and lovely Christmas ornaments. I know many of you are gifted with great artistic talent, but there are the rest of us (me) who rely on those cutesy objects in the stores. ;) Those USPS Priority Mail flat rate boxes can be stuffed with lots of items, including clothing you may not need for the rest of the trip. They're a lot less expensive than airline overweight charges.

I once did a b2b that started with Hawaii and ended in Alaska. While in Alaska I mailed home the clothes I had worn in Hawaii along with some dolls I bought in Alaska. It worked out great. :)

Ginnylou - as a matter of fact, you reminded me that my last Alaska Duck Crew cruise started out with 18 days on a Circle Hawai'i cruise (Seattle-Vancouver) back to back with a 7 day Inside Passage Cruise round-trip Vancouver where the Ducks joined me. So I had 25 days aboard ship and, yes, I sent home several stuffed boxes from Ketchikan, our last stop before returning to Vancouver.

Wow. Only 36 days to go and the time is flying by. Ducks, Ducklings and DIT's are starting to pack their finery and turning an eye toward lining up house and fur-baby sitters. To take your minds off the subject, here are three more places we probably won't see on this cruise (then again ....... you never know.).

What and where are these buildings????

Quack Quack we have shipped home souveners on several cruises and tours. Have always received them safely. This worked from Europe nicely... Thanks for the reminder. I lolve the little carvings in Alaska in soapstone and jade. They don't take too much room or weight. I enjoyed shopping in Skagway on our first cruise so much. Last year we did noit get up town as too cold and rainy. Hopefully we will this year. Princess docks are often too far from all the shopping it seems in Alaska. Was on RCI first time and we docked right down at center of trade. it seemed. Just putting this asnd that in suitcsse and checking off list as I do. Seems my comfortable istoner gloves have disappeared. Thought I had them in the case on bed a while back. Quack Qauck

My old home town. Use to live near Swan and Speedway and there was a bank that had a great area for skate boarding. Also was a Bob's Big Boy Drive In on the corner. Even earlier there use to be a drug store with a soda fountain on the opposite corner. Remember sitting at the counter many times as a very young child. :D

Don't forget the Alaska Fudge Factory in Juneau. I think they had chocolate moose suckers last time we were there, and they fit really well in flat rate boxes. Much less muss and fuss than a real moose! The nice people there will ship fudge home for you if you don't think you can eat it all before you get home.

Ginnylou and Glo - actually, Pucci and I drove to Oro Valley, northwest of Tucson. I was so distraught that I had to miss the "events" in L.A. - my XM Radio station in the car wouldn't let me tune in to any of the...uh...er....hmmm...how do I describe it without being censored?
