Quack Quack we have shipped home souveners on several cruises and tours. Have always received them safely. This worked from Europe nicely... Thanks for the reminder. I lolve the little carvings in Alaska in soapstone and jade. They don't take too much room or weight. I enjoyed shopping in Skagway on our first cruise so much. Last year we did noit get up town as too cold and rainy. Hopefully we will this year. Princess docks are often too far from all the shopping it seems in Alaska. Was on RCI first time and we docked right down at center of trade. it seemed. Just putting this asnd that in suitcsse and checking off list as I do. Seems my comfortable istoner gloves have disappeared. Thought I had them in the case on bed a while back. Quack Qauck

Maw - HAL has shuttles from the pier to the town, so I would imagine Princess will have the same. I believe it cost $1 each way.

Ahhhhhh. Mr Mal is up early and (apparently) has found one of the right websites ...

Yes sir, you are correct on #'s 1 and 2.

The UpsideDown house in Szymbark, Poland; and,
The Longaberger Baskets Home Office in Newark, OH

But I can see that # 3 still has you stumped ....

Third kinda looks like buildings in Amsterdam. So narrow and tall.

Quack Quack Thanks for info Mary Ann I know that they did have a shuttle in Jaueneau which took us to the Salmon bake on our scooters will check on this when get on ship. If not drizzley we can probably ride the scooters in. We are checking mine out to see if will hold charge. Paw uses his every day while mine sits in truck from cruise to cruise. Make myself walk everyplace usually.

Fianlly found my duck items and now have them ordered. Just wonder how many of us are duplicating items. My family think we all may have slipped a little-so looking forward to being with such a fun group and taking lots of pictures. Just dreaming of my hot fudge sundae. Days ae passing and soon we will be together. Quack Quack

Good morning, Ducks, Ducklings and DITs, from central Joisey where it's a sunny 68 degrees.

I'm waiting in anticipation for the arrival of our "adopted" twin Granddaughters. Their Mom was supposed to have a C-Section at 7:30am. As of last night, they only had a name for the one, Emily Judith (not for me, but for Kim's Mother, who was also a Judith).

We've decided to use our dining room table as a staging area for the cruise....what the heck, we never use it for dining! :lol :lol :lol

I panicked the other day when I realized that we only have 31 days until we leave for SFO. That time is going to fly by.

Right now, the dining room is full of duck feathers!
=lolgang =lolgang =lolgang

Hope everyone has a nice & safe day! :thumb :thumb

Ginnylou and Glo - actually, Pucci and I drove to Oro Valley, northwest of Tucson. I was so distraught that I had to miss the "events" in L.A. - my XM Radio station in the car wouldn't let me tune in to any of the...uh...er....hmmm...how do I describe it without being censored?

Ha ha... I think you just did!

That's usually the way it goes, Gram. We're like Hansel and Gretl only we drop ducks instead of bits of food!

And, our Fearless Leader is always at the Helm.....

Does anyone know if our cell phones will work in Alaska to call home. If so, is there a large roaming charge? I have Verizon.

I have sprint and used my phone in Juneau without a problem. Skagway was a different story could not get a connection. I don't remember about Ketchikan. I had roaming charges in Victoria BC as I don't have international. I understand that you can call your provider and add it for a set number of days if you wish.

I use Cingular (now ATT) and had it added to my bill for the days I was in Alaska last year. It was not an issue, and I had good service.

Evie - it depends on your service provider, and the type of plan you have. Verizon should work in Alaska - depending on Verizon's coverage area - if you have a national plan. However, it's always problematic getting service in Skagway because of the nearby mountains. Whenever you're in a mountainous area anywhere in the world, it can be difficult to impossible getting a cell connection.

Unless you inadvertently want to find you're using the ship's satellite at approx. $2.49/minute, be sure you are ashore when using your phone.

My living room is now a staging area for duck crew boxes - I need to separate what goes directly to the ship and what goes to my hotel.

Good Show Ship Maven! Squeeking Quacking in at the last minute. It is, indeed, The Thin House in London. Not an actual house but just a frontage built to hide the railway behind.
