A little "business" update for our DDD's. I'm checking Fisherman's Wharf area hotels regularly - Tuscan Inn, Sheraton, Holiday Inn and Radisson. The only hotel showing rates so far is the Radisson. The others are about a month away from providing information.

Bread - thanks for the info. I spent some time on their site this weekend trying to figure out which sit I am going to sit in. :)
I will start looking after the first of the year, hopefully I'll be lucky.

Mama Duck - Thank you for checking on the hotels for us. We plan on being there definitely by Sun, and Sat if we can get away. So either 3 or 4 nights for us. I am not sure on Ryan & Mindy yet but I did suggest to them that if they could, to please try for the same number of nights if possible.

Off to yoga. Quack - Quack!!!

Called the Tuscan Inn last week, and was informed you can't make a reservation more than once year in advance. Claire and I are planning on arriving 4 to 5 days prior to the cruise and will be staying in SF a few days after the cruise.

We hope to arrive on Sunday. I dont mean to sound cheap. okay, yes I do but I will be going for price vs hotel, within reason. :)

Mama Duck, we're coming in on Saturday if possible, but no later than Sunday, and we have no hotel preference.

Sue I hear you on that one. I don't want to stay in a dump (I doubt that there is a one on the wharf) but $$$ does
make a difference to us. Even with points and stuff price makes a difference :)

Our flight availability will dictate when we arrive, but we are shooting for Saturday. Price will also be a factor for us as well, and we may consider Holiday Inn Express providing it is ok. Just need a clean and safe place to stay, with room to store the DUCK STUFF!:D

I looked at all 4 last night and all are fine. I would be inclined to go with the cheapest of the four. :)

What airport should we fly into, San Francisco or Oakland? We will more than likely be coming in via Southwest. And since we've never been to San Fran, I don't know which airport is easier to deal with in regards to luggage pick-up, taxi's, bus, trains, etc.

Good afternoon, Ducks, Ducklings and DITs, from central Joisey where it's a sunny 87 degrees.

What was that Ray Milland movie when he lost a day or a weekend? Well, that's me. We got home from the Dentist's yesterday around noon. I went to bed, got up to take my meds around 8pm, went back to bed, got up 7am to call boss and take more drugs, and finally got up about an hour ago! ::eek: ::eek: ::eek: ::eek: ::eek: ::eek:

The good news is that I don't go back until October 4th, barring any unforeseen circumstances! :grin :grin

Hope everyone has a nice & safe day! :thumb :thumb

Thnx Suer - we'll look into both...Oakland is all non-stop on SW from BNA so I will have to factor in any layovers directly into San Fran. I hate layovers and try to not have any. But a $ is a $. :)

Judi - I am sorry you are feeling so bad after your dental visit. I hope you are doing better? =hugs

A non-stop for us is impossible. SFO is probably cheaper for us, but we will definitely look at both when we book our air. We did SFO for Amigos and it met our needs. Was also the cheaper airport last time.

As for hotels, we are planning on arriving Sunday, and any of the hotels will work for us, first choice Tuscan Inn, second choice Sheraton. Bottom line, least expensive will probably win out.

We look forward to IHOP among other things in the local area! :lol :lol

Oops guess I was to reply here--Any of hotels will be fine always appreciate lowest price available but do like to stay where everyone else is.Like to have HC with handicap with roll in shower for Paw Tuscan did not have but it worked fine otherwise and we would do again. Would like to be able to scooter to Fishermans Warf. We will plan 2 days before. Monday probably.

Still dreaming of that hot fudge Sundae and Clam chowder,

Have a closed suitcase by back door. At least this way will not get too much in it maybe still have to weigh afraid it is right on line.

Quack Quack which way to the pond.

Bruce's Suite sounds good to me!

Heck we should be able to get 20 or so folks in there with sleeping bags and cots!

Wow, and split the cost?? Now "that" is my type of vacation - good and cheap!!! Skip the cots, they take up too much room. Everyone, just bring your sleeping bags. :lol :lol
Mal's too cute to sleep in a room full of people . . . . . .
We can put him in the bathroom, or a closet. But I want IN on the Mandarin Suite! :thumb
