Another week ending, and another week closer to Duck Crew Day!!!!

Oh, yes...there's a possibility we'll reach 114 today. Alaska sounds sooooooooooo good, even if one year away.

Good afternoon, Ducks, Ducklings and DITs, from central Joisey where it's a hazy, hot, humid 79 degrees.

Right now on Food Network is a Bobby Flay Throwdown in San Fancisco with some guy that is supposedly the best paella maker. I don't like it, but if you do, you might want to check it out so you can find the guy when we're there next year! :)

Hope everyone has a nice & safe day! :thumb :thumb

Thank you Judi - we can't wait to get to San Fran and eat some of the wonderful food there. I love paella, but can't eat it as I am horribly allergic to mussels. Only mussels though, no other shell fish or mollusk. My one sister is allergic to ALL shell fish, so I guess I can count myself lucky. :thumb

Today is laundry day and clean my desk day. It is runneth over, both of them, actually. Ha!!

I am running away on Wed & Thurs of this coming week with 5 girlfriends for two nights at casino's up in Indiana. We leave on Tues after work and come home on Thurs evening. Can't wait...those penny slots are calling my name. :lol

Happy Sunday DDD's. Quack-quack!!

Good afternoon, Ducks, Ducklings and DITs, from central Joisey where it's a wonderful 78 degrees.

Suer, The Paella Man won. Bobby Flay's didn't hold a candle to Gerard's!!!!!

Corky, Mal loves the Chowder and I like the Chili, both served in a sour dough boule.....yummmmmmmmmmy!

There's also a place called the Buena Vista Cafe which is purported to have the best Irish Coffee around.

Then, there's Ghirardelli's for some wonderful chocolates!

If you like garlic, there's a restaurant called The Stinkin' Rose. They were on vacation the last time we were in SanFran so we didn't get there. Hopefully, this time they'll be open. We'll need to do lunch, though, as garlic in the evening gives Mal a problem. I think I read where they've opened a pizza place on Fisherman's Wharf

Come to think of it, Saturday - Wednesday probably won't be enough time to eat our way through the city!!!!! =lolgang =lolgang

Hope everyone has a nice & safe day! :thumb :thumb

Uhhhh...I know someone else, despite Italian heritage, who cannot eat garlic. Stinkin' Rose definitely is NOT on my agenda. :( But all that nice Fisherman's Wharf seafood definitely is. And I suppose you could twist my arm for the Cannery, Ghirardelli Square, etc., etc., etc.

Hope all the Duck Crew is enjoying the weekend. It's a mere 94 this morning, much lower than the last few days. We're hoping for some rain later today. QUACK QUACK QUACK WOOF

Judi & Shipmaven - I am in for All of it - especially Seafood. On the soup bowls - Den will have the chowda & I'll have the Chili. And I think we best hit the Stinkin' Rose on Sunday for lunch so the garlic has worn off by Wed. :lol I can't wait to sample as many of San Frans delicacies that I can. I also want to go to Chinatown and have dim-sum.

I have my ticker dated for a Sunday arrival, and I think we need to make sure we can come in on Sat, because I agree with you Judi - just not enough time to get through all of the wonderful foods of San Fran. :)

Corky - other than the fact I'm HUNGRY thinking about all the San Francisco delicacies (minus garlic), I'm also glad to report that it's ONLY 96 degrees at almost 1:30pm. That is a definite and most pleasant cool-down! Happy to see you've cooled down as well. :thumb

I've got my countdown ticker set for sailing day. I don't know if I'll arrive in SFO Saturday or Sunday.

Hi Ducks and DITS...well the spirits are high and I am chomping at the bit for our Alaska Recon mission. Organizing clothes was the order of the day. I'll start putting them in the suit cases this week. I have stuff in a large laundry basket at the moment. Then I'll divide the stuff between two 25 inch rolling cases and two carry-ones.

Our temps have cooled down too....only in the 80s today and lower humidity. I've been sitting out on the screen porch enjoying it between loads of laundry. Leatherneck and I plan on going to dinner at the Clubhouse tonight and I hope to sit out on the deck over looking the lake :) I am just waiting for him to get back from taking GS Jacob home. DD Mindy was here this afternoon for a nice visit while GD was having a play date with a friend who lives near here.

OUCH on the tooth Mary Ann....hope your dentist can fit you in tomorrow.

Suer, keep us posted on Lovebug's progress on the playoffs...good luck to her and her team.

Y'all enjoy what's left of the weekend!

Lovebugs team won the 1:00 game, mercy game. Meaning her team was ahead by 10 runs after the 4th inning. So now at 7:00 they play for the championship.

All this talk about seafood is making me hungry.

Suer - very best of wishes for Lovebug and her team. Although I think I can predict the outcome, please report back after tonight's game!

We are the Champions, we are the Champions !!!!!!! The noise you guys heard was me yelling and screaming. She finally hit a home run :jump :jump OMG I had tears rolling down my face. The boys came flying out of the dugout, the parents/crowd went nuts. What a kodak moment. It was so exciting.

Then, they had to put her in as pitcher for the last 2 innings. Little League rule, a kid can only pitch so many pitches in a day. Since they had 2 games yesterday, and 2 today they were running out of players.

OMG, she pitched a no hitter. Then the next inning, she struck out the first two, then assisted in the ground out for the third out.

She was awesome tonight. As of today, this is it for her baseball till the Spring time. No more listening(reading) to me brag. I dont think she will get involved in the house fall ball season. We were going to sponsor her team but after seeing how the Nationals and these tournaments are run, Fall ball is just a glorified babysitting service.
