Hola once again, Mi Amigos. Wait, wrong direction. . . . . Howdy once again my friends from the Star Princess Alaska recon cruise. Today we are in partly sunny (and very windy) Skagway. Again a beautiful day they tell us. The White Pass railway trip was FANTABULOUS! After that, the gold dredge and goldpanning was interesting. Between the three os us, we panned $35.00 worth of gold. Gave it to Mom to put into a necklace charm. She is soooooo proud.

I can see why cruising in Alaska is so popular. This has been utterly amazing.

We are in port with the Volendam (among others). I took some pictures and looked to see if there was a duck on the mast, but unfortunately, I couldn't see one.

If we have the opportunity, I'll check in again . . . .

C YA ! ! !

Tobyn, Alaska is our favorite place to cruise, so I am really glad you are enjoying it. I'm also glad you are enjoying sunshine instead of rain!

When we were in Skagway in May we took a guided tour and our tour guide told us that there is no medical assistance in Skagway. No doctor, no nurse, no dental, no EMT's. I wonder if someone got hurt while a ship was in port, would they help a Skagwayian?

Have a great rest of your trip!

Sorry - But I must disagree.

The Skagway Fire Department provides Emergency Medical Response with Medical First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. The Dahl Memorial Clinic and the Edward A. & Jenny Rasmuson Community Health Center provide more definitive medical care.

OMG! I swear, she told us that there is no medical resources in Skagway. She also said that when a gal gets pg in Skagway, they used to go to Canada, live there for a few weeks, and qualify for their medical care. Canada wised up on that and made the qualifications different. Wow... well heck, now I feel a bit sheepish... or duckish! But nice to know they do have medical resources. Heck, I was wondering why anyone would want to raise a child there!

Thanks for clearing that up, Calgon!
