Mary Ann, the first time we went to Alaska we stopped in Vancouver, and I believe the hotel just across the little cross walk is the Pan Pacific? We were waiting for some friends to pick us up for a day in Vancouver, and while standing there we saw a dog at the front entrance, greeting everyone who walked up. Many people seemed to know him. Do you know if he is/was a resident dog???

The hotel you're thinking of - just across the street from the Pan Pacific - is the Fairmont Waterfront. They have a Newfie who stays outdoors near the doorman to greet visitors. I've stayed there several times - fine hotel but I, personally, much prefer the Pan Pacific.

On our Ultimate Alaska cruise where I met Barb, one of the gals on the cruise was very familiar with Save On Meats. In fact, she alerted us to the fact that she was going to go shopping and purchase some of their products, and we should be prepared for a tasting feast. She brought back a lot of different cold cuts, and we had a great party. On that cruise we had a corner aft family cabin with two rooms and a huge verandah. It was easy to get a dozen people out there. Lots of food and fun!
