we may go on a cruise this fall in sept? the icruise visa is changing its points accrual policy as of aug 31 - if we don't use the points we have already accrued, we loose them. Right now we have 500 off and by july , it may be 800 off a cruise. As of aug 31st, the most you can get off will be 400 and that is after 35,000 points--- they are really bumming me out with this change of points policy. The old policy gives you 800 off after 27,000 points and 1000 off with 34,000 points ( we never got to 34,000 )
so long story short- we may be getting out there- anyone else want to go?

Hello everyone...

We are currently searching for a family cruise. Need something for our 15 and 5 year old. Any suggestions? We like RCI, but we are thinking Carnival. We are looking at May of 2006. We are also looking at a trip to Italy for just Alfio and I. I am really excited about that?

Did everyone have a great Memorial day? The weather went from winter to late summer here. Crazy, but atleast it is warm.

I am getting ready to start a new position with Target. I will working in Human Resources. I am really excited because I won't have to work weekends or nights!! Yeah!!

Everyone have a great weekend.

Hi to all my fav-o-rite "Island Hoppers"!!!! Hope everyone is doing great. Tamra, thought of you and the family this weekend as the hurricane moved on in towards Alabama. Hope ya'll survived the storms without much damage. How is your condo doing at the beach? Last time you mentioned it, repairs were being done I think? Any damage this past weekend? Jody, good to see your post. Any cruise would be a great one!!! Glad you all had a wonderful time at Disney. Good luck on your new position at Target. We think of you and Alfio often. Maybe we can see ya'll when you head to Blairsville. Well, it's been raining here for what seems weeks!! Going camping this weekend so I am hoping the rain will clear out of here. We only have a little over two months until we go on our cruise to Alaska. I am really starting to get excited the more research I do. Wish ALL of you guys were going with us!! Well, gotta run.......miss everyone! Chat later............Michelle.

Hello everyone....

Wow..some of us are in vacation mode again!! Yeah.....Michelle...please fill us in on your Alaskan cruise. I would love to take my mom on a cruise like that or even Hawaii!!

Tamara...you go girl!! Look you were all bummed thinking you wouldn't be cruising again so soon!! Yeah for you...thanks for the advice I am going to start hitting the boards for advice. I have heard a lot of good things about Carnival. I guess I am more concerned for activities for my little one. I figure my older one will just hang with us. She hasn't started the mom is uncool thing yet!! Although she starts high school this fall we will see how quickly that changes!!

Hey Michelle..I see you just did the Carnival Glory...Did you like it?

Time to get ready for work!! Counting down the days until I no longer have to work nights!! Yippee...

hey guys! Glad to be hearing from so many of our group- yes, i was really sad about not getting to cruise this fall but decided that those cruise ships will still be sailing when we are able to go again so no big deal- then out of the blue the mbna card we use is going to zap our points/dollars off away unless we use by aug 30 so we are sortof forced to use them- is difference between using the 800 or maybe 1000 off or only getting 400 off and taking more points to get the 400 off- am looking for another card that will offer a cash back thing or something
the Glory is like the Conquest- very nice- very big- great kids programs- your kids will love it and you will too-
rich and ally- enjoy some guava berry coladas for us- we have been baseballing it so much that there is no time for hot tubbing and guave berry even if we had brought some home with us- lol
Hope all are doing well- glad you are getting back to the day shift Jodi- know that will be better for you!!!!

Hi from downunder to all the Island Hoppers from Todd & Kerri. I've been reading all the posts when they come through, but haven't really had much to say. Just thought I'd say a quick hello!!!

It's our winter now, but still around 23 degrees (73 F) during the day, overnight around 14 degrees (57F) - yes had to use the net to find this out for you all.

We have school holidays starting here tomorrow (Thurs) for a 2 week period. We are having one weeks leave and going to Tangalooma Island Resort off Brisbane - so only about 1.5 hours drive and then a ferry for another 1.5 hours out to Tanga. Have our best man and his wife and 2 kids coming over from Western Australia and joining us - so really looking forward to seeing them again, it's been about 2 years since Todd and I were over in the west, and 10.5 years since they were over in Queensland.

Finally time to STOP and relax and unwind again - can't wait - one more day at work (it'll be long no doubt).

We are still considering a cruise around Hawaii islands next year, or maybe Alaska or maybe .... (can't decide yet).

We will be counting down to the Philippines in October once back from this short break. Have a lot to do for that yet, only have the flights booked, plan to island hop and visit about 4 or 5 locations, no accommodation booked, etc, so I'll knuckle down into that soon I suppose.

Thinking about you all ! K

Hi Kerri & Todd! Good to see your post and to hear about your upcoming adventures. They sound wonderful. Yes Jodi, Carinval Glory is a grat ship. I have been on her twice. I of course could not tell you about any of the kids programs but I do read that they are great. Anyway, Stan and I enjoy Carnival and I am sure as Tamra said you will too. After our cruise to Alaska we may start planning Hawaii for next year. Wished we all could do that one together!!! Well, everyone have a great day! Weather here is finally sunny (in the 90's!!!!) after two weeks of nothing but rain. Check back in later...........Michelle.

good to hear from you kerri and todd- your vacations sound really neat- thanks for translating the celsious to farenheit- would have had no idea what temps you were speaking of- we are having hi 80's and low 90's f during day- 70's at night - will pull a celsious chart to translate later -
Michelle- glad the rain has cleared out for you- have a great camping trip this weekend- Have you "met " some people going on your alaskan cruise via the message boards? The cruise we booked for fall has 2 LARGE groups going - one from cruise @ddicts and one from cruise critics- plus a few that have booked with their regular travel agent like us and are not "in" a group- some of them booked like 1 1/2 yrs out - judging from the posts- wow- if we all do decide to do a cruise together, it would be good to do the group cruise thing cause after a certain # of cabins you get a free person and then after a certain amount more you end up with a free cabin for 2- we could split that over the group somehow , i think-
time to go feed the horses-

Are there any groups booked for your cruise? i found some people going on the one we are doing but 99 % are in one of the 2 large groups going so you have to try to get in and chat there cause they aren't really chatting in other places. Can't believe you have not found anyone- how many have at least looked at your posts? is your ship close to full or have you looked at that? The Mariner is going fast- end of last week there were some balcony's left- now some are closed and most are to the gty stage of the game- there are still some inside cabins left and some ocean views and like 5 junior suites and about 5 grand suites incase any of you are thinking mariner oct 16 this fall...........................................? cheapest inside is 609 p.p. including port at icruise

Howdy everyone...

Kerri and Todd it is great hearing from you. It sounds like you have some great trips planned. I love hearing about everyone's plans and adventures!!

Michelle...Tamra and I must be thinking the same thing. I was going to ask if you have met anyone going on the Alaska cruise yet.

We are leaning more and more towards a cruise to Hawaii in 2006. I like what we see right now. Tamra great advice about doing a group trip. It might save some money.

It went from being in the 90's here to a high of 60 today. What is the deal??

Jodi....

Yep.....have looked and posted everywhere! I have one thread on CC that has like 25 replies but they are all MINE!!!!! :) :) :) Oh well.........guess we will never have a group like we all had on the AOS last year :( I think we should all start planning Hawaii in 06'!!!! Seems like everyone wants to do that cruise so let's narrow down a good time for all. Whada' ya' say everyone???????

michelle- do you want to fly into ? honolulu ? then sail around the islands? If we do that we may want to go a couple days early? to sight see ? I will talk to Brad to see what he thinks. Norwegian has 2 ships that do that island deal. Will check to see who else.

I would much rather fly into Honolulu and then cruise for 7 days. If we do a departure from LA or San Diego there is too much at sea time and most of those cruises I believe are like 11- 12 days. We have frequent flyer miles to use and this would be a great way to get rid of them once and for all before Delta goes belly up. I dunno'......whada' ya' think?

i looked some yesterday- prices seem pretty steep plus airfare- will have to see about it- noticed some cool panama canal sailings - some out of miami- will have to wait to talk to brad about this in a few months- he would cream me if i started talking about a cruise for 06 before we do our one in 05 so we have plenty of time to look around to see exactly what choices there are and how much it wil cost etc.........before i approach brad with the next cruise bomb! lol
