Mary Ann I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well. May the other eye go as well or better. Soon you will be in the world of living color.

Jacquie - I'm relieved Leon goes to the Neurologist tomorrow. I pray all will be well, and anxiously await your update.

Now, for Pucci - he's cream (OK, champagne) through my left eye, and a blur through my right eye. What I see for everything through my bad eye is a yellow smog. Another comment about my good eye - I now see things in their true size, not magnified through a prescription lens. Pucci shrank!

That is great about your one eye -- hope the other one does as well.

Sorry about Pucci shrinking!! :(

Good morning, and thank you, my friends. Things are much blurrier today - for instance, this screen. I think my bad right eye is trying to "assert itself". If I cover the right eye, things are clear again. But I go for another checkup tomorrow morning, so I'll see what's going on.

Janpep - one of my many joys is seeing the yellow ducky watering can you gave me in such vivid colors. I've LOVED that watering can from the time I received it, and it's so much brighter now.

I'll be driving today for the first time - hopefully that will go well.

I'll check in this evening. Again, I can't thank all of you enough for your thoughtfulness and prayers.

Mary Ann.....don't get discouraged. Sometimes they have to go in a 2nd time....easy....to clear the lens...then everything will be clear again. Now if it's just your eye that will be done next week, well, you just have to wait until them.

At first, my doctor told me about the multi-focals, but after taking measurements and talking to me, he decided against them. I have a regular IOL.

The caveat, so I was told, with multi-focals is that many (most?) people will see auras at night, distance is not necessarily crisp (for example, when driving, street signs may not be clear), colors may be dark. These things may - or may not - make a difference. My vision has been extremely sensitive to the slightest aberration when filling prescription for eyeglasses in the past. So the multi-focals wouldn't do for me. The newest ones cost $2,000.00 per eye over and above what Medicare allows (for those on Medicare). That's also a big consideration.

Thanks for the very good advice there.........I will be sure to ask some very important questions before I go with spending the extra $$$$. The point you have made are very important. I really appreciate the imput. I go on Medicare Jan. 1st.

I'm happy if I could be of help - and as the time approaches, please don't hesitate to ask questions.

@ddicts on this thread have been so incredibly kind and helpful to me, I'm delighted to return the favor to anyone who may need it.

Back to my Ophthalmologist in the morning for another post-op/pre-op appointment. It will be interesting starting Sunday when one eye is on the post-op eye drop regimen and the other eye, pre-op.

My IOL's are manufactured by Abbott Medical Optics.

Thanks for all the information Mary Ann. Hope you are doing well with getting the eye drops in. I can't even get regular drops in my eyes when I need them.

Yonnie - I'm surprising myself with the eyedrops. Only once have I missed the mark. Usually, if I need an eyedrop, it ends up on my forehead or cheek bone. So far, so good for now.

Mary Ann -- I have mine running down my cheeks most of the time.

Thankfully they are cheap.

My other eye was done this afternoon. It didn't go as well as last week. I had a horrible problem with the anesthesia (sedative) that I won't go into, but they had to reverse the "cocktail". It was a very frightening experience. The surgery itself was fine, but my eye is much more swollen than last week, and it was very painful - it's beginning to calm down now.

I won't be on the computer tonight, but again, I sincerely thank all of you for your prayers, good thoughts, emails, PM's and cards. I can't begin to tell you how much they're appreciated.

We'll send a few extra prayers your way, and we're so sorry you had problems today. Please remember what medication caused your reaction so you can put it in your history for future reference. I'm sure Pucci would be happy to give you a few extra kissies to make it better, but if he's too tired, I'll send Bandit. Leon seems to be doing better, so I'm hoping the same for you.
