Hello all...thank you so much for the birthday wishes!!! I had a fab day thanks to Doris and my friends. My parents being here was great!
Well about the cruise. Had a great time. Had some not so good things like what happened with Doris and all she planned and they did not deliver. We had a balcony room but feel that Princess has the market on the closets but Carnival has the market on the room size. Never had a balcony on Royal so can't comment. Food was fantastic in my opinion. The speciality restaurants were both fantastic. I did not enjoy the one on the Miracle but the one on the Glory was fantastic. Have never tried the ones on Royal so can't comment on that. I LOVE LOVE LOVE MOVIES UNDER THE STARS. Don't know if I can cruise without that!! It is truly awesome.
George it was not the layout of the Glory that we did not like it was the theme and decor of the ship. Some rooms we loved but the atrium was boring for a Carnival ship.
I heard from several people that had been on the CP before said it is different than their last experience. I have heard good things about their other ships and will be sailing Princess again since I have a free cruise to take with them. Want to sail the Grand Class of ships like the Emerald or the new Ruby coming out.
Like Cris said we love you all so much but since we only cruise once a year I want a ship with movies and fun. I did like the Mariner but it was not one I would want to repeat again. There are too many options to go back. If I could take two I would consider it!
We will be taking the van to the port on the next cruise. I price air for clients through Kayak.com daily and always find pricing cheaper to FLL and MIA than MCO(orlando).
We hope you all would consider a change but if not we will have to set our sights on 09! At least we can pre-cruise together!!
As for the cruise in a nut shell had a fab time with a large bar tab! We rented a scooter for Doris to get around and it was a God send! She could have never done it without one.

The pics look like you all had alot of fun. I know we would consider the Liberty or Freedom or Independance since we have not had that experience. Hi Dee - glad you posted with an update - I was hoping we'd hear from you soon. What exactly happened with Doris's plans for your birthday? Cris mentioned that it was similar to my niece's experience where they didn't get their honeymoon package until they asked about it 3 or 4 times, then it was a joke, but she didn't elaborate. I still can't believe that I never put it together that she was getting off the ship and you were getting on it on the same day. Do you know what other cruiselines, besides Princess, do the movies with the stars? Somehow I think Alaska might be too cold to do that!
Yogini sent me an e-mail today with wedding and reception pictures. She looked gorgeous! I don't know if she sent it to any of the other Big Cats (other than Cris and Dee, I am sure) but if you'd like me to share them, let me know and I'll e-mail them to you. She looks very happy. I had a great wedding, but now that I am older and I see things that other people have done, I kind of wish that I could have a "do-over." A wedding mulligan, so to speak! I think that a cruise ship wedding would be amazing. Of course, when we got married, I had no idea that the day after my wedding, I'd fall in love with a new kind of vacation travel, called a cruise!
I am waiting to hear from my brother, who might be coming up for a visit tomorrow. He's trying to find a house to rent in my area again. He told my mom he thought he might come up, but hasn't called me yet. I told my mom that he needs to call soon or the reservation desk will be closed. I am not going to make up the bed in the spare room if he's not coming, but can he call???? Of course not!

I just saw something really sad on the other boards that I didn't know about. I saw a headline about the Glory, and then I had to read the couple little stories about the ship. The article said that they are no longer stopping in Belize and no one knows why, and also, that Costa Maya (remember that wonderful pool with the bar that we spent so much time at?) was destroyed by a hurricane a few weeks back. They are rebuilding at that port and they don't think it'll be ready to receive passengers until sometime in 2009. And also that that little fishing village was destroyed. Isn't that sad? I know that many of us had said that we wanted to go back to Belize. How sad!

Sheree when I heard the hurrican hit Costa Maya I was afraid that little fishing village would be wiped out. I did think the port could withstand the storm though as it was pretty big. (I guess not) Maybe Belize is just not safe right now. Greg Rhodes had his concerns when he saw all the police with their huge guns the last time we were in port there.

Sheree yes it was pretty much the same experience. Doris had pre-ordered a couple of gifts for me and to have chocolate covered strawberries delivered to the cabin each night. NOT! I am more upset that even after providing the proof of purchase they still kept promising the credit and it finally took place the last night of the cruise. It was very stressful for Doris having to make this a daily routine of dealing with the Pursers desk. She had purchased a silver photo album for me that they don't even carry anymore. She also order me a balcony champagne breakfast that they are suppose to set up on your balcony with a white linen table cloth and serve breakfast and champagne. All they did was deliver room service trays and said that they only do the table for the dinner. I told them exactly where they could take their breakfast. Come to find out from our District Sales Manager for Princess that they are suppose to set it up with a table just like I thought. I am sending him and email of our experience and he is going to take it to the VP of onboard operations. We shall see but I do expect the experience on my next cruise. The only ships with movies currently is Princess and Carnival.

I will tell you that if we get a winfall of money we would join you all but other than that we will be sailing a new vessel next year. I like the Mariner but not enough to repeat with so many options to choose from. I would not mind doing southern caribbean and seeing some places we have not been. I belive the Liberty (Carnival) does a few new on their 8 day. Maybe we can squeeze in a short one together from Tampa! Cris and I are going to see the Inspiration Monday to see the new pools and adult area and water park they have done. They are redoing the enitire fantasy class and this will be the first ship done. She is going to be like new! Can't wait.
Dan, yes movies under the stars is like the drive in without the cars, just relaxing in a lounge chair!
We saw Wild Hogs, Grease, Taladega Nights. Cris and Julie saw Pirates of the Caribbean. We got to see Tom Jones in concert, I just love him. They also had Bob Marley in concert. Several sporting events which I know some of you would have loved watching on the big screen.

Calum was not allowed to play in the water park he could only go in one pool and it was only about 4 inches deep and he did try and go in the water park but we were told quickly he could not play there. Next year he will be allowed to play there We have some pics of Bubba surfing and I will try and get them scanned soon. Also the formal nite pics we had from ship I will scan.

You have to be 3 years old or older to play in the water park. Calum is only 2.
If we cruise RCCL this year I will be Platinum and I will get better perks.
