I don't think she likes your offer, San!

PH - Should have called us anyway. I would have loved to go to Buca. I was thinking about suggesting to Bert that we go there that evening when I didn't hear from you. Instead we had lowly sandwiches!
If I don't catch up with you anywhere else, have a great time on your cruise. Say hi to the rest of the gang going.

Sorry,I missed your very generous offer,San...................BIG SPENDER!! I am worth more...............in fact,Im priceless.....

Sorry we didnt call BB.but we were with the buyer(of the truck) till 5pm..........we went to his bank, then ours, the DMV.....and since that was right down the street from the mall, we decided last minute to eat there..............wanted to eat at Salsa but it was closed for a private party.......thats how we wound up at Buca........

Decided not to go to CB today..weather is too nasty,so I wont head out now till the morning............

So far, our weather is bright and sunny down here, PH. Don't blame you though for not heading for CB today though. You never know what later today the weather will be like.
Better bring your long johns with you tomorrow. It's going to be cold, cold, cold! You'll be freezing your SSA by the time you're doing the muster drill! Of course, if you have enough adult beverages before md, you should be in good shape!;)

Think I'll send Bert off to Publix to pick up the fixins for a big pot of pea soup tomorrow. I think we're going to need it!

I feel sorry for people flying in from other parts of the country who think they're coming to warm sunny Florida. Boy, are they in for a rude awakening!

Yeah, but your weather changes quickly, doesn't it? Ours does.

Priceless......OK......too rich for me. Have a wonderful cruise, PH.

Our weather usually changes back to "normal" after a day or two. This year we have been getting one cold front after the other. The next week is going to be the same way. Next couple of days it'll only be around 58-60. Heck, they're calling for temps in the low 60s for the Super Bowl!
We still have sun, but it looks like we're in for some weather within the hour.

I'm getting cabin fever!!!! Haven't gone anywhere since we dropped off J&J at the airport on Monday. Think I need to see if any of my friends are home and go visit them ...

I'm home, come visit me......but be sure to pack your woolies!:wave

Tony, our son's birthday is tomorrow.....same as one of your kids. That's why they are in Florida for the weekend, celebrating. They didn't tell the kids until they woke them up this morning to go to the airport. I guess the kids were hyper when they found out they were heading for Disney!

Even with the "cooler" Florida temps, they'll be OK. After all, 50 will be a heat wave for them!

PH, have a wonderful cruise

Yeah Rita, it's Anthony's birthday tomorrow and I don't have a clue as to what I am going to get him. Maybe a gift certificate so he can get stuff for his trailer. He wants to go bowling on Saturday afternoon, then there is a big dinner that Angeline is making at their house after.

Did you see where that price cut on SR disappeared 3 days later? Wonder if they goofed.....but, I'll take it.

Ended up getting light rain. Definitely nothing to write home about. It's still 68 outside, so that's not too bad... YET!
Never went anywhere this afternoon after all. Rita - Would have visited you, if I had more time to plan. Instead Bert & I have been sitting here listening to the former governor or IL trying to talk his way out of what he did. Every time I look at him, I try to figure out who has worse hair - him or The Donald! I think it's a toss up!!!

San - I'm still trying to figure out what to get for Justin for his birthday. When I asked him last week what he wanted, his answer was ANYTHING. To me, that translates to good old green stuff $$$$$. Works for me!

Tony,

I did see the rate went back up.....that happens a lot. When we booked NV for March, rate for D2 was $699 pp, D1 was $899 and D3's and E's were more than the D2. Took the D2, rate went back up, then the other day RCI offered a senior rate, so we got $140 back. That's why I ask people to check their cruises once a day and let me know immediately if there is a rate change. I've seen the price go back up in an afternoon.....supply and demand, I'm sure. I think they reach a threshold sold, and back up goes the price.

How about an OBC for Anthony's cruise? If all else fails, there is always that. We gave Kevin cash before he left for his birthday present.....we figured he could use it in Disney. He can get into Disney free tomorrow, but since they all have 10 day passes, he'll take the Disney Dollars instead. They can use that for food or whatever.

BB, I take the grandkids shopping and let them pick out what they want. We do have a time limit in the store, though, LOL! Then add a deposit to their college fund, and everyone is happy. Last time I took Brandon to the store I had to impose the time limit. The others are pretty good about getting in and out in half an hour.

Your weather doesn't sound too bad, Pat. Kevin called and said it was off and on rain, but at least it was warm. Considering we had snow yesterday, even 58 would feel like summer.

Night all......

Rita

Good morning! What a crappy, gloomy morning it is ... 51 and rain - not heavy, but not drizzle either. In other words crappy!!! It's not the best day to head for Disney, but it's also not a great day to be starting a cruise.

I'm getting ready to start a big pot of pea soup. It's a perfect day for it.

Rita - When I booked our NV cruise, we got a military discount of about $250. off regular price. Checked yesterday and now there are no discounts of any kind on that sailing.

Man oh man......Here K2 leaves for Arizona yesterday after months of bitchin' and complainin' about cold weather and snow.....now BB fills the void by complaining about a little cool weather in Florida:cool:

I wrote an Email to Adam Goldstein on Wednesday asking questions about possibly recinding cut backs when the economy improved. Well, the email was delegated way downward to a low level in Crown and Anchor........that person gave me typical non-answers. Well, that was just round one......I'll see what Adam has to say next.

Give him hell, Tony! Some of the cutbacks are so petty, like no more mints on the pillows. Now the changes in the coupon books - no free pictures and the tokens for a special slot machine - really stink. There's not much else that we use in the coupon book. Had one bar server tell me that I couldn't use the coupon for a drink in a souvenir glass for a glass of wine instead and insisted I had to get a fancy drink with that coupon. Ended up going to another bar and got the wine. That other server never got an additional tip for the rest of the cruise. Her loss!

By the way, sun is now shining brightly, but it's still only 54. Big change from the record breaking temps of yesterday in some areas around here. I wasn't whining earlier. Just stating our weather conditions this morning.:p Bet PH isn't hanging out on the pool deck today!

I don't care so much about the loss of coupons or mints......It's the subtle changes that go unnoticed by most that I care about. Deterioration in food quality...Concierge Lounge having cheaper offerings......don't get me started on the zoos that are the remote CLs. I'm a reall grumpy bastard today!!!!!

Seventy and sunny here.

They sure are nickel and diming their loyal customers these days. I was amazed the last time we were on SV and the drink of the day was $9.95! On the JW repositioning drink of the day was $6.50. What's with a difference like that?

Speaking of JW, I have never seen such a nightmare when it came to the CL and the satellite lounge. If you didn't get there well before 5, forget it. You couldn't move in either of them. Both were totally inadequate. Ended up being served drinks in sitting area outside CL. Hopefully, our upcoming NV cruise won't have many D & D+ and the CL will be accessible. They still have at least 10 suites available, so I guess I should say a prayer to the upgrade fairy and keep my fingers crossed. It's never happened before, but heck - There's got to be a first time, right?

Sounds like a nice day in garlic land!!!:lol

The TransAtlantic CL situation was the same....if you walked in at five there was nowhere to sit.....it just got stressful trying to get a seat in there. We had 800 D & D+s aboard......I think that that is becoming the norm on more and more voyages.

I don't think RCCL is into being nice about upgrades to D+s, I don't think that they care anymore.....anyone that I know that has got an upgrade lately has had to fight and argue for it. I haven't gotten one in 3 years. I wouldn't be suprised to see the C&A benefits reduced to almost nothing.

I can go along with all the cut backs that RCCL is making now.....but, what torques my jaw is that I know that when times are once again good, they will not reinstate any of the perks that have been removed. They have dumbed down their current customers and most are accepting it the changes. Naive idiots!

I'd love to know if the Royal Champions are privey to any changes that RCCL is contemplating with Crown and Anchor. There's something making PH take all these cruises.

Still a grumpy bastard........been this way all day:)
