PH, I have to disagree with you......the cruise may be over, but with BB the PARTY is always on!!

I still have some ironing to do (don't know why I bother, the resort will have irons and ironing boards, and the clothes only get wrinkled in the suitcase), but then have to decide what NOT to take. Trying to keep it very casual, shorts, capris, etc., but Bill keeps putting more stuff on the bed for me to pack. Trying to tie up loose ends in the office. Last night we had dinner with friends who are going to London with us in September, and they booked two more cruises......one on the Equinox crossing November 5, and next year's cruisetour with us to Alaska, so I have to finish that stuff up. We have to change plans in JFK (I hate that airport), but I can do a no cost change to the non-stop flight after midnight tonight, so I'm trying to decide if I want to stay up and try that, or just take our 7 a.m. flight and the connecting one. Non stop gets us into Aruba around 12:30, three hours earlier than the connecting flight. We're travelling on free tickets, so I really shouldn't complain, and we didn't book the flights until mid March, so we were lucky to get any award tickets.

You and BB will have your hands full next week keeping Mr. Tony in line. Wait until she sees the comments he's made.....

Rain,rain,go away..........................had some sunshine today,but now its gone.................did ya hear about Daytona Beach area?? Under a state of emergency....streets flooded,people evacuated,etc.....almost 20 inches of rain this week.......a RECORD!!......and more rain to continue for the week...........holy cow........not a good time for the tourism there(considering its a holiday)

Our grass is growing like crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, PH. Looks like we're the only ones around this weekend, unless Marcia stops by for a visit. We're off to see Jersey Boys this afternoon. We have 5th row seats! I can't wait. I've heard so many great things about this play and I've always loved the music of the 4 Seasons. Should be a nice afternoon, IF (and that's a big IF) the rains hold off.

Never got any sleep yesterday afternoon. I just took it easy on the couch. We had a great time on the cruise. That crew is so friendly, especially in the Schooner Bar. We spent a LOT of time there. There's a new guy playing the piano. His name is Jack and he'll be there until June 12th. He's really good and plays lots of great songs to sing along to. He's very personable and shares lots of little known trivia between songs. He was off on Thursday night and spent about an hour with Bert & I while Rosario Strings played. Jack's a retired Colorado Springs fireman and occasionally fills in when needed on a ship. He's hoping to be on the Freedom in Sept.

We never made it to CocoCay due to rough seas. Tuesday we went to Nassau around 5 and stayed overnight. The rain was coming down so hard at one point Tuesday that you couldn't see where the sky ended and the ocean began! Captain started his noon message from the bridge by saying we were flying at 10,000 feet!!!!:lol Tried to make CocoCay on Thursday, but it was still too rough to tender.

We didn't go to Quest, but heard we missed a real winner. When they asked for a pair of men's pants, one man gave up his pants and everything else. He paraded out to the middle in his birthday suit! They got him out of there in a hurry, but he ran out again. They had to get security to escort him out of there!!!: Everyone was talking about it. Just our luck to miss it.

Casino was kind to us this time. I came home with my big winnings of $27! Bert won over $200, so he was a happy camper.

So that's our cruise in a nutshell. We definitely were luckier than folks in Florida with all the rain. We could tell driving home that there had been a lot of rain, but had no idea how much until I saw the noon news. Those poor people in the Daytona area! Looks like we had about 10-12 inches of rain judging by theway the lake has come up.

Have a nice day with Dennis and try to stay dry. I'll try to get back later, but if not, I'll see ya tomorrow.

Yes, we saw Desmond in the Schooner Bar a few times. Cheryl (tall black girl) and Ivanco (cutey pie with dark hair and beautiful eyes) took care of us most of the time. I think Ivanco said he was from Serbia.

Saw Desmond and Dal, but never got a chance to talk to them, as they were always busy when I was around.

One thing that we noticed was that I think every convenience store owner in the country was on the ship with his family! Sometimes we couldn't hear a word of English spoken at any table around us in the Windjammer!

Oh, and I almost forgot the most important thing - I left you a note! Do you want to know the title? I can even tell you what page to look for it at.

Now for my review of Jersey Boys .... WOW!!!! AWESOME!!! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! And that concludes my review ...

So what happened that you canceled the cruise? Dennis have to work? That's too bad. You would have enjoyed the guy at the piano bar. I put the note on page 200 in a book about menopause! How's that for some LIGHT reading on a cruise?:lol

Not much going on around here today or tomorrow and that's a good thing. We're still in cruise recovery mode!

No, we didn't do MTD being it was only the 2 of us. I told you at Buca that after all these years I'd rather have others to eat with. We spent waaaay too much time together on this cruise as it was, so it was nice to have 4 others to sit with during dinner at least. They did not go to the casino or SB. Instead they spent evenings in the Viking Crown, so the only time we saw them was at dinner. The one couple lives in Melborne. I told them about the Florida thread. She said she might just stop by and check it out. Only time will tell, if she does.

I had no luck with powerball. I don't think anyone else was either, as you didn't see too many people playing those machines. Bert won on roulette and on the wild cherry slot filling in the pie. He needed only 1 more wild cherry and when it came up, he also got a wild cherry on each reel. That was good for 200. Then when it cleared the pie, it showed he won 200 more coins, plus what was in the basket. He was a happy camper.

Sorry about having to cancel your cruise. Did you transfer the reservation or are you going to lose your money? I hope it's the former.

Time for some lunch. Darn ... got to fix my own! Where's the Windjammer when you need it?:lol

Greetings from sunny and HOT Aruba!

Arrived yesterday...took our original flights, had no problems at JFK, waited an hour to clear customs and immigration in Aruba and arrived at our hotel around 5. Just time for a quick drink, leisurely dinner, and then sacked out for the night, as we were up most of the previous night. Weather here is HOT HOT HOT, a bit windy, but very sunny. Quite humid, also, but we spent the morning at the beach, part of the afternoon at the Westin hotel casino, part of the afternoon at the pool and bar, and are getting ready to head over to the restaurant for dinner. Relaxing is a tough job, I'm tired!

BB, what's the name of the restuarant you mentioned? I forgot. We are going to make reservations for El Gaucho and Madame Janette's for later in the week, but I'll also try the one you mentioned.

Happy Hour was fun, had one too many strawberry daiquiri's, hope I can make it to dinner. Will try and check back tomorrow. Internet connection is SLOW SLOW SLOW!

I am sooo jealous!!!! Even when it's hot, Aruba is great. I love those trade winds that constantly blow. The restaurant I mentioned is Que Pasa. Not sure if it's even there any longer. Bert reminded me of how many years ago it was when we were there with J&J ... Something like 9 years! Ugh, where did the time go?????
So have you had an Ariba Aruba yet? Joanne & I learned to like them way too much! Also whatever you do, don't tell a waiter you want Sex on the Beach! Joanne found out you can get in a lot of trouble asking for that drink!!!D
How's the casino treating you?

Hi PH! Glad you stopped by to say hello. I was beginning to think nobody loved me!

We got back a little while ago from Best Buy. That's 2 days in a row we've been there. We had planned to buy 2 TVs today, but the place was a mob scene. Who says the economy is bad? Couldn't prove it by the number of people there and the big ticket items they were carting out of the store. We decided to wait and go back tomorrow to buy the TVs. You know what they say about the third time being a charm. I'm hoping that buying 2 will get us some kind of a break. Only time will tell, I guess.

Good for you and Dennis to go work out at the gym. I'd hate to see my friends get flabby!!!:D

I think there's more than enough water in the ground right now to take care of those new plants. You made me laugh though ... Bert put in a new tomato plant yesterday and got out the hose and watered it. That was as the clouds were gathering for a t'storm that dumped another inch of rain on us.

Back to the kitchen. I'm making a pot of meatballs and sausage for Bert and I tonight. The MMs are not invited!

Hi,

Needed a break from the heat, so returned to our a/c suite and am enjoying the coolness! Que Pasa is still there, we may go tonight or tomorrow. Have reservations at El Gaucho for Wednesday and Madame Janettes' for Thursday, will try Sunset Grill also. Too many wonderful places to eat, not enough time!

Went and did a site inspection of the Marriott Stella Maris Resort and Casino.......OMG, do I want to stay there! Definitely 5 star resort with a wonderful beach, loads of restaurants, beautiful rooms, most with an ocean view and a big casino. Time to put the RCI Visa away and start using the Marriott one....but that hotel is 35,000 points per night, so I guess we'll have to do some heavy duty spending (downtown Aruba here I come)

Getting very breezy here, but still HOT HOT HOT! Will check in later. Good luck BB with the TV situation, and PH, sorry you had to cancel your cruise.
