Can I kick my DIL in the butt? She had me so worried. Seems like she took advantage of the cash for clunkers program and bought a new car. The drama part was that she traded in the van that used to belong to her father. That was the part that had her upset. I can see her point as I'm sure it was very hard for her. On the bright side, she has a brand new Honda. How much better can it get?
Bert went and got some more sushi with the gang coming. The bad part was they ate every drop of it, so no leftovers tonight!
Time to call it a night here. Watching Ice Road Truckers. Bet that road melts real soon and the program will be finished for this year. Also watched some of the football game, but pre-season isn't that great.

Good morning! You sleeping in this morning, PH?
The swimming pool crew is at it again this morning. They're pushing dirt around the pool area. The rate they're going I'm thinking the pool enclosure will be done by next week. Business must really be slow, if they can devote this much time to one job.
The guy who owns the house is going nuts over what his lawn looks like. He's so fussy about his yard, as you know. He's constantly outside watching what they're doing so nothing gets damaged or more messed up. He's so anal! I think it's hysterical to watch him.
Making lamb shanks for dinner in the slow cooker. That means I'll be smelling dinner all day and that's not good. I'll be hungry all day!

My MIL gave us at least 20 cans of tomatoes(diced, stewed,paste) yesterday.......turns out she cant eat tomatoes anymore.........I see a big pot of sauce coming up.......hahah

Lamb shanks in the slow cooker are so easy to do - Even a caveman could do it!!! They come out as tender as the ones they make on cruises. If you ever want the recipe, email me. I doubt that the males who happen to stop by here would be interested. Glad I saw your post mentioning the lamb shanks. It reminded me that I had forgotten to go outside and pick some fresh rosemary to go in. Took care of that just now.
Glad you got to sleep in, especially if you woke up during the night. That happens to me all the time and I hate it. Sometimes toss and turn for 2 hours. I should do what Marcia used to do and get on the computer. Only problem is that I'm too tired to get out of bed!
Got to head out in a few minutes to BofA. Bert's got to get a slew of papers notarized for his teamster's pension. For the piddly amount it's going to be, they make you jump through hoops to get it. I couldn't believe they need a notarized copy of MY birth certificate too. Huh???

Think you have it bad up there--we call Vero Beach--Zero Beach. Nothing much to do here. It is a town of lots of retirees---wish we were one of them! We have been here 39 years though, so I guess we like it.

I have been outside for the past couple of hours........it was so hot,I had sweat in my eyeballs.......kept jumping in the pool,but after awhile,that wasnt even refreshing..........water is 88.....for once,I wish it was cooler........
Ok, BB........share the recipe........I have the fresh rosemary already....
Making pork chops for dinner..thawed out 4 of them and now Dennis wont be home till at least tomorrow night.........guess I'll cook them all and have them again tomorrow..........slice em up and put them on a salad,maybe...........
Missed IRTs last night......screwed up the recording(but it will repeat so I'll get it then),BUT I did see a few scenes.........wondering,who was in Lisas trcuk with here????????
Found a few friends on FB these past days...........you know the kind of friends you had growing up?? When kids could roam the streets without fear of being kidnapped.............yea, those were the good old days....

Had a busy day, working, grocery shopping, lunch with a friend, visiting DD cause I haven't seen them since they came back from vacation a week ago!
Nice not to have to work 9-5, just went in and cleaned up a few loose ends from last week.
BB, glad to hear it wasn't major drama with the kids. I'm sure Kris was upset getting rid of her father's car, but hey, life goes on. At least she got a new car, and probably a nice deal with the cash for clunkers sale going on.
Less than 3 weeks until we head for London and the Jewel TA. There were 2 JS and 2 GS's late last night, and all but one JS were gone this morning. I smell conspiracy! I should just dummy book the suites until the three week out dateline, and then call and ask for an upgrade. Don't have much hope of a D+ upgrade, but never know what will happen with the TA upgrades, as they are not given until the week before sailing. That's how we got upgraded last year. You don't need to have a certain number to get the TA upgrade......if a better room is available the week before the cruise, revenue releases it to the travel agent. We'll see, but I am OK with the room we have, it's the one we always book because of the very large balcony........and it's right off the centrum, so it's very convenient.
Time to go fold towels.....if my life gets any more exciting I don't think I'll be able to stand it!
BTW, got an e-mail from SJ and it doesn't sound like Marcia is doing very well......they are waiting for more tests to determine if she can get more chemo.

I talked to Vicki about an hur ago......Marcia had a good weekend, but today has not been a good day according to Vicki. Test results come back tomorrow so they can decide next steps. Vicki promised to let me know when she finds out. She has had no chemo since several weeks ago. I'll pass on any info that I get.
