Hey, PH, your library sounds like mine......yesterday I bought 5 paperbacks for the TA, $1.25 for the five. At least I don't care if I lose them and I'll just leave them in the ship's library when I finish them.

Just returned from a long lunch with the other UK travellers. We've pretty much got things squared away for tours during the cruise, but the others have never been to london, so they're trying to cram as much as possible into the 2 days we'll be there. Bill and I will do different things from them, as we've done a lot of sightseeing over in London, but we'll meet up for dinner at night.

I really need to think about packing for this cruise.....I think we'll need gloves for Iceland and something warm (I know Iceland is green and Greenland is icy), but we might need shorts for London and/or France.
Jeans and capris may be the order of the day, but I have to really get moving on at least getting the stuff out.........

PH, enjoy your cruise.......I think you had better start packing....:D

You gals are making me jealous!!! All I've got to look forward to is our trip to NC next Thursday. Packing for that trip will take me all of 15 minutes!

Rita - Lucky you to be going to London. I really like that city. Each time we've been there, we make sure we do the London Eye. They were supposed to build one slightly smaller on International Drive, but due to the economy put the plans on hold. I hope they so it someday.

Ate the rest of the lamb shanks for dinner. Still need to bake some Pepridge Farms apple turnovers for dessert ... Yummy!

Staff Captain
Oh I went to buy lamb shanks yesterday but they only had one..........so decided to wait till next week............

Love Pepperidge Farm turnovers........those are the ones they sell in Arbys.........

Wanted to make one last stop here tonight to wish you bon voyage, PH. Have a very happy birthday and enjoy your cruise. Don't forget to have a glass of wine for me.

Tile guys did their thing today. I don't like the tile work though. They chose a tile that's the color of concrete. Why the heck did they do that???? Oh well, as Bert said, it's not our problem.

I hope San stops by over the weekend. With Rita working so hard, I might just be talking to myself until Monday!

I keep forgetting to ask you, PH - Did you ever get a chance to check that book in the library on MN that I left the note for you? It's been a couple of months since I left it, so I highly doubt it would still be there.

Last post for me..............I really need to go to sleep................

I hope you have a super weekend and hope you'll not all alone on here!! :bawl:

Talk to you and the others Monday!!

Not yet............I'll get a chance to do that this weekend..............I still remember the book and page number!!

Knowing PH, by now she's already on board MN. Lucky gal that she is. In the meantime, here I sit all alone with no one to talk to. :bawl: Oh well, guess I'll just head out for a perm. That should brighten my spirits!

Meeting about 10 friends at the Grill tonight for dinner and then we'll be off to BINGO! Woo Hoo!!! Life in Kiss-my-*ss is so exciting!!!

So until someone else stops by, I'm out of here. I really do hate to talk to myself.

Hey, BB, I hate talking to myself, but I find I'm doing more and more of it these days.........I live with a conveniently deaf person, same as you!

Off work today, so we're heading for lunch with a cousin of mine and her husband, whom we haven't seen in a bit.

Will talk to you later on, so neither one of us has to talk to ourself. You have to admit though, we are at least talking to someone with a degree of intelligence.......

Oh how true, Rita! You're a gal after my own heart.

Back from getting the perm. Looks good to me, but Bert thinks I look like Peter Pan. What does he know? He's a man!!! :duh: Time to find something for lunch. I'm starving!!

Queen Bee
BB:  PETER PAN?? Sorry I just had to jump in here over that statement.
Peter Pan had a "HAT" on all the time, hence NO CURLS!!

I just had to use this little Smiley.......it's the best.:hammer:

Rita/BB: Have a fun weekend starting this evening.

Okay......back to occasional lurking!!

BB, I think it's time for Bert to get his "eyes' checked. Peter Pan didn't have curls.

Ordered honey mustard chicken tips for lunch, over rice, ate it all, tasted pretty good. Got halfway home before I realized no honey mustard. It must have been pretty good conversation, since I didn't notice until we were on the way home. Bill asked if he should turn around and go back......I almost said yes!

Printed out all our set sail passes for the coming cruises. Last thing on the set sail pass is the statement that the ship will have to undergo a customs and immigration inspection, so don't show up early, show up at 2 p.m. Never saw that wording before, but I think they must have changed the set sail passes, as they are now just a box with a bar code, and a place for a signature. We had printed out the TA one a while ago, and it was the usual set sail pass, but when we reprinted it, we got the new one. Since each of the next 4 set sail pass say the ship has to undergo a customs inspection (including the one for the b2b we are doing), I think it's their attempt to keep people from showing up at 11 to board. That way they have to feed fewer people lunch.......I think it's another cost cutting measure. Can you imagine if all 2200 people showed up at 2. You have to close the manifest 1 hour before sailing......like, right, they'll get everyone processed from 2-4. Yeah, right, and I know a bridge for sale!

Bought a fleece jacket for our TA today, as I think it might be cool in Iceland. I'll bring gloves, too. At least I'll have them for Alaska next year!

Hope you win at bingo tonight. Nothing as exciting as bingo here....babysitting for Lisa's kids.

Talk with you later.

K2, any Marcia news?

Rita

His Lordship

Good afternoon from Gilroy. Hot again this weekend. It's very smoky outside, in fact it was smoky all the way into the Central Valley on our way home yesterday after noon. The smoke is from the Bonny Doon/Lockheed fire about 15 miles west of us.

While on our mini road trip, we passed three fire burning....Hat Creek in the Sierra and Altamont east of San Jose.

Sad, sad news about Marcia....how could all this have happened so fast?

Tickets arrived yesterday Rita.....sad thing is, Marcia would have received hers yesterday also.

Happy Birthday [belated] to PH.....hope she's having a good time.

Trust me, both Bert and Bill can hear you two, but after a while, blah, blah, blah becomes white noise.....kind of soothing, actually.
